Good – I bought the sunbeam blender PB7620S initially but it was very bad (read my review). so i went to harvey norman and bought a philips HR2094 blender. it never smells like burning electrical smell when i use it (unlike sunbeam). it also blends the raw veges better and doesn't make a droning sound. and it only cost me $98. with the philips, i also like how the base the blades are attached to is stainless steel. i did read on amazon UK that there is an issue with unscrewing the glass jug from the unit after you;ve made a smoothy (sometimes the glass jug unscrews from the blades instead of the whole jug unclicking out from the base so that the contents spills out). but i haven't experienced that yet and i'm willing to take a chance since it seems to be the best value for money that i could find. also, philips customer service was very good with my inital enquires. Glass jug, stainless steel blade unit, no burning electrical smell, good sounding motor The potential issue with jug unscrewing from blade unit

Fantastic Value! – I am a vegetarian and use it daily. I picked it for its solid build i.e turning it upside down and looking at the motor. It has a variable speed motor which is great for slow blending Vegi and retaining nutrients, crushing nuts and ice. I find the juice insert strainer a bonus for some blends. My wife makes her mince meat on slow pulse and loves the fact it does not go mushy like other blenders we have used. The Jug is thick and takes a knock. Over a year and motor sounds good and still going strong, a great buy. Looks good on bench, Easy clean, Variable speed, Bonus Juicer insert. Great for mince meat Knob is slippery when hands are wet. I just put a rubber band around it.

Good – I bought the Sunbeam masterchef one with the poly carb jug and took it back after reading bad, bad things about it. Bought the Phillips instead as it got great reviews in USA and UK web sites. So far very happy with it's performance and very happy that I only paid $100 for what seems like a pretty good blender. It does do ice, but only small amounts at a time but the pulse button seems to help with the ice crushing. I haven't had it long so will let you know if it dies quickly! Love this little blender! Suction cups sit nicely on the bench. Is much quieter than my previous blenders. Blends everything evenly. Great choice of easy use buttons to choose from or just turn the dial option. Food doesn't seem to get stuck anywhere at the bottom when blending. Easy to clean as the bottom screws off (have had no leaks so far from the bottom of the jug). Has a handy filter if you don't like pips etc in your smoothies. Price is reasonable I paid $100 At Harvey Norman (the only place you can get it at the moment I think). Don't really like the Aluminium look, Stainless would have been better, but not a biggie.

Read the instructions and don't run the motor for too long as it could start to struggle - so treat it with respect! But most blenders will do that if run for too long.

Have to twist the jug to lock it in before use, but you do get used to that quite quickly.
