They were great then they died – I absolutely love this product but after 3 purchases I have stopped wasting my money. When the air flosser works it’s the best product on the market. Unfortunately I didn't buy what I was actually after because of the incompetence at ShaverShop. The pressure sensor was a must have feature for me and the brush pacer much preferred to the quad pacer but unfortunately this model has neither. I bought it in a bundle (HX8491/03) with the airfloss ultra (which is another whole new great experience in itself!) but it's rather hard navigating all the slightly different models and unfortunately it's really hard to tell from the packaging what exactly is in it cause it doesn't specify model numbers or full feature list. The people at the actual shop were no help at all so I based my purchase on the Q&A and reviews on their website, which apparently also doesn't give accurate info (see pic).
Also, when I opened everything up for the first time, there were fingerprints on the toothbrush handle already which I was definitely not very impressed with either.
I charged everything for 24hrs as instructed and so far both are still going strong after mostly twice daily use for a week now without recharging. I'm a little bit concerned about the charging glass breaking one day as the toothbrush doesn't actually sit on the base without it, but it sure as hell all looks very flash!
It has a 2 week 'training mode' (the intensity increases gradually after every full cleaning round) to get used to the vibration as well cause it's quite strong. I've been using sensitive mode however and I'm not quite sure it's compatible with that as it doesn't seem to increase, there's not a whole lot of info in the manual about functions.
All in all a bit of a mixed feeling with this purchase. Yes, definitely a great toothbrush so far (just hoping mine doesn't experience the post-warranty breakdowns that are mentioned in a lot of other reviews) but at a hefty price tag for ending up with the wrong product... I put a post about this on their website so other people don't end up in the same boat but they didn't even approve it. Definitely still a Philips fan, will never buy from ShaverShop again though.

first time at Costco, I wasn't overly convinced about its capabilities; it really looked like a toy. Anyway, after my partner again twisted my elbow, I went along and bought it; it was a large box bundled in a twin pack in white that also came with small pouches and additional accessories.
Filling the AirFloss requires a bit of patience and finesse; especially lifting the transparent plastic cover on the same front size as the trigger and power button. If only I had an eye dropper which probably would have been cleaner?
Instead, I had a large bottle of Listerine mouthwash and through its large black plastic lid, I poured the contents into it and carefully emptied it some of it into the very small hole on the AirFloss.
I then proceeded to use it after consuming the very basic instruction in a multi-language booklet.
Final Thoughts I did not do any research; I should have; but my loving partner was pushing for a impulsive purchase. From what I described and portrayed about my experiences in using this product, there are more cons than pros. As on two occasions, I described this product as being more of a toy and its purpose is rather gimmicky. As it is a Philips product and having purchased an electric tooth brush that came with a portable charging enclosure, a glass cup where you can wireless charge with a grooved charger below it as well as several accessories that easily gave me a really good feeling that it is a high quality product.
Unfortunately, this AirFloss was the exact opposite, I didn't feel the same at all.
Pros: - does seem to do something - squirting liquid between your teeth - charges well
Cons: - very expensive (only because it came in a twin bundled back) - ease of use - looks more like a toy and gimmicky, does not feel or act like a quality product - the use of mouthwash liquid made my fingers sticky as well as the AirFloss unit which required regular cleaning and maintenance - claims to allow up to 2 sessions, I only managed may be 1 - only because I perhaps have poor teeth

As good a regular flossing? – At first the whole process is somewhat messy but you do get used to it and learn how to minimise this.This version has the auto refilling station which works really well, manual filling being rather awkward. air + liquid burst is quite powerful, you certainly feel the blast on your tongue in use. I have used both plain water and mouth wash. Mouthwash creates a foam that seems to soften the power of the blast, not sure if this makes it less effective. You have to keep the unit upright to ensure the solution enters the circuit, which isn't possible when doing rear teeth. I run the unit with tap water after use, empty remaining water from the reservoir then activating the burst a few more times to purge the line. The product has a largish footprint which is a problem if you don't have a lot of bench space.
Things that could make the product better; faster regeneration between bursts to save flossing time, add a battery level indicator and a larger reservoir. Also, the specs state 2 weeks of battery life but i don't achieve this with daily use.
Overall it's quite good and does seem effective my only concern is you can't be certain it's as good as manual flossing.

found any food residue after air flossing. This was a pleasant surprise.
If this remains true, I wonder if the airfloss can completely replace interdental brushes.
I like that the device is waterproof so I can use it in the shower (I have bad habit of keeping my mouth open which makes the use of water flossers messy).
The recharge/refill station makes filling the device with mouthwash super easy (and the manual recommends to use mouth wash rather than water).
My suggestion for a future improvement - after the reservoir in the airfloss is filled, it automatically disengages from the refill station. I accidentally tried to remove the airfloss whilst drowsy and forgot to disengage, thus lifting the whole complete unit off the vanity.
Some LEDs on the base station would be good to show the device is on/charging. There are no external signs the charging station is on.

Amazing – This product has assisted me to no end. My teeth feel incredible clean and look amazing! The size is quite large, but it’s fine. I find it a little difficult to clean it once I have used mouth wash. The bubbles seem to stay in the tubing. It can take a little to clean it. Good while it works – I have enjoyed this flosser a lot more than the water pick as its not as messy and feels like it gives a better clean. I like the 3 shot button and is what i use it on. I only use water in this and don't have any urges to use mouthwash. But i only bought my flosser in December but it seems to now only 5 months old not to be working properly. … Read more
It stopped working completely with on of the lights out but then an hour or so later was working again. But then goes back to not working again meaning you need to leave it for like and hour. So it's starting to be temperamental. Now my concern is warranty as if it works sometimes and other times not how do i prove this for a warranty.

My teeth look whiter and brighter and the only change to my routine for the past two weeks has been this toothbrush and airflosser.
One hundred percent worth the investment...the only negative it that the brush and flosser are too tall for my shelving unit so I need to leave them out on the bench but it looks ultra chic in the black so it is fine.

Good flosser. Very poor reliability – I bought the Philips flosser on the advice of my dentist and it does a good job at flossing between teeth. However the first one failed after 6 months. It was replaced by the agent but then the second one failed after a year. So cannot recommend it due to poor reliability. Show details

Easy and nice to use – I feel my teeth are already clean and light after using for a couple of days. It is easy to use and store, easy to refill water. The design is good and easy to hold the item and press button. It would be great if the nozzle would come off easier. me and my partner wanted to use our own nozzles but to remove the nozzles is not an easy job and there is a risk of breaking the unit.
