Porsche Boxster Spyder 2013 – My 50th Gift with a Soul and Serious Oomph! Owning a 2013 Porsche Boxster Spyder was nothing short of a dream come true. I cheekily told people I “found it in the garage when I bought the house” – but truth is, it was my 50th birthday gift to myself… and what a gift it was! As a woman with life experience,… Read more
confidence, and a love for quality, this car ticked every box: precision engineering, soul-stirring rhythm, and that naturally aspirated oomph that melts away the stress of a high-pressure day. Roof down, hair wild, wind in my face – I was James Bond meets Grace Kelly on a caffeine hit.
Smooth G-force on long drives, head-turning good looks, and an adrenaline rush that reminds you you're alive – this Porsche isn’t just a car, it’s therapy on wheels. Ladies, if you’re ever thinking of spoiling yourself with a luxury car that gets you – this is the one.
The models just get better and better. Love my 718 Turbo! – Have owned my 718bs for over a year now and all l can say is wow! This is my third boxster all s models. Questioned the sound at first as was quite different to my 3.4 and earlier 3.2 which l adored. But wow what a car. I thought my previous 3.4 was fast till l drove this! Completely different car all round. It handles better, goes much faster and… Read more
is more balanced and poised then my previous s. I have since tuned and piped the car and now this thing out performs the gt4! With 400bhp and 520 nm, its truly a sports car. Ive always loved the 2 seat configuration and the convertible hood is just magic. Best car to date l have ever owned including a 911, gtr skyline and sti wrx.

Living the dream! – I purchased my Porsche Boxster S Mk2 987.2 MY11 in 2016 with 12,000kms. Basically as new. I sold a VW GOLF GTI Mk7 - terrific car but not a real sports car. The Boxster was fully maintained and serviced by PORSCHE Centre Melbourne. Has extended Porsche Factory warranty to 2019. Added Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres - superb. Car has ideal specs -… Read more
PDK 7 speed manual/auto, 3.4 litres latest generation flat six engine (same as base Carerra 911), Sports Chrono Package Plus, Launch Control, Sports Steering Wheel with racing paddles, Sports Exhaust (amazing), 19 in Carerra wheels and more. Standard specs include excellent satnav, Bluetooth for mobile, heated seats, lots of leather, rear parking sensors and two excellent luggage trunks. The brakes are awesome. Four piston ventilated disks on front and rear. The car has all the latest brake and stability safety features.
Sure I paid quite a bit for second hand car (all up over $80k) but this is a $150+k car. It is not until you have owned and driven a 2 door convertible Porsche that you understand why a car can cost this much. It is the superb understated German engineering and quality.
This car can do under 5.0 seconds 0-100kph and has a sound to die for from the large flat six with the Porsche Sports Exhaust. It is right up there with other Italian and British super cars but at a lot less $. In addition this has the reliability for a daily drive and only requires fixed price servicing once a year. Put the top down, summer or winter, switch on the Sports Chrono and Sports Exhaust buttons and just go cruising - amazing. This is a superb thoroughbred roadster.
This model is the last to have hydraulic steering and a manual handbrake before they changed to all electric - much sought after by the purists - yet it has the latest generation naturally aspirated large flat six engine. The latest model Boxster 718 has a smaller turbo engine that does not sound nearly as good. This is the model to have if you want a purist and tactile Porsche driving experience at a reasonable price. Amazingly this is a very similar car to a 911 Carerra of the same year except it handles better due to mid engine, but costs MANY $ less. I could go on about how good this car is but suffice to say that when this car was realeased in 2010 the world's motoring writers unanimously agreed it was arguably the best two door convertible sports car money could buy and certainly the best value for money. An amazing claim since they were talking about all the fancy Italian and British names.
Buy one second hand in good condition and you cant go wrong.
Vroom Vroom – After six months of exhaustive research looking for a convertible sports car I opted to buy a 2001 Porsche Boxster S. My model has a six speed manual transmission with heaps of leather, 3.2 litre six, sexy body shape and goes like the proverbial rocket. (0 to 60 in under six seconds). Add ultra wide low profile tyres and it handles better than a… Read more · 1
Cooper S. (I had one a long time ago). You can pick up one in good condition for around $20000 and I suggest to get a pre purchase report from a qualified mechanic before parting with your hard earned. Be prepared to get heaps of admiring looks from the chicky babes or vice versa and then watch the looks you get when you tell friends, family and workmates you drive a PORSCHE. Some call them a PORSCHA but if you own one it is up to you what you call it! Extremely low revving (because of the six gears), so if you look after it you should reach 300,000 k's before any major surgery is needed in my opinion. There are so many extras- climate control, ABS, power steering, leather interior, super comfy seats, fog lights and convertible. Because of the aerodynamic design of this machine and the free flowing lines of the body I found it is the easiest car to wash! No dinky little corners or edges to chamois. Because of the mid engine motor there is good storage in the boot and under the front bonnet.
Some sports car writers are saying the Boxster is a better all round machine than a Porsche 911!!!
I don't know about that but I am more than a little proud to own a Porsche Boxster 3.2 S Roadster.

Excellent – Great car for the price, it seems even good value; well, relative speaking. The engine has good torque spread and it sound great. Boxster S: Good performance, spacious (for a two seater), Good storage (for a two seater sport car). Options are expensive, the positioning of the reverse gear would be better on the right hand side.
