Lasted and lasted – Interesting reading the previous reviews, as I had quite the opposite experience. I used this product trouble free for ten years! In the end it was the little plastic catches on the combs breaking (as mentioned by previous reviewer) that necessitated its replacement. I bought it in 2006 and replaced it today (2016) with the latest model of the same product.

Horrible! Useless! Threw it in the bin – This product is absolutely horrible, useless. Pulls and chews the hair rather than cutting it. Yep. Horrible! No option but to throw it in the bin. Even Vinnies wouldn't want it.

Horrible product, frustrating – This product is really terrible. I have thrown it in the bin. The plastic parts are flimsy and broke after only a couple of uses. The attachment clip's little tab breaks off so the unit can't hold the clip in place, which is essential to getting a smooth cut. The unit pulls at your hair if it is thick or overgrown (which is why you use this product).

After a few uses the unit started making and extremely loud buzzing sounds which we could never work out. we googled and consulted the manual but there was no advice on how to overcome the problem.

This was an absolute waste of money and I will never purchase this brand again due to this experience.

flimsy and clips break quickly making the unit useless

OK – I choose this Remington product as I was after a complete hair cutting set at a cheap price. The clippers come with a whole set of accessories which are helpful. The clippers are okay at cutting my short hair however when it starts to grow at any length it will pull the hair if you go to quickly. Other than that I have no complaints about these clippers.

The machine I have as lasted for many years now even with my lack of regular maintenance and oiling. It is getting worn at the moment with the electrical wiring being exposed because of the way it is stored in the case. A cheap product that does that job and will last a long time even without good maintenance. Not very powerful at cutting hair.
