back of the switch. I resolved this by bypassing the switch completely so it still lives but I think it may be about time to buy my wife another one. P.S, I have been trained in appliance servicing.

Compact pro 2000 – This is the best hairdryer I have ever bought! After purchasing expensive hairdryers in the past I gave up and bought a cheapie. Absolute value for money. I use it daily and have had it for years. A very satisfied customer.

Love this hairdryer – Great drying easy to use and quick. I found it easy to use and easy to hold value for money and a trusted brand. Will get another when this one stops working for sure.

Black coating sticks to everything – Mine was a gift so I don't know how old it was but when I got it out of the box recently the black coating on the drier was sticky and coming of on anything that touched it. It will be going straight into the bin.

Compact and Mighty – Great hair dryer with 3 speeds. Dries quickly and compact enough to take with you when you travel. Would highly recommend, especially for the low price as compared to other previously owned brands.

Pathetic piece of unrepairable junk – An apparently reasonably made device completely ruined by a ridiculous main on/off switch that judging from the reports on here is completely unrepairable and not fit for purpose. anybody who will even attempt to take the thing apart and it was only after I came from England where I own a domestic appliance repair shop that I took it apart to discover how absurd the thing is. As I understand it these things aren't even sold in the UK & I'm not surprised because you'd find that Remington would be forced to withdraw them. If anybody from Remington Australia reads this then mail me please at roger@gemani.net to discuss a refund or replacement.

Garbage. Switch failed in a few months – Don't go anywhere near this. We've had two of these, both had failed switches. When you try and have the issue resolved the Aussie reps (a crowd called Spectrum Brands) go out of their way to avoid repairing or replacing the item. Total garbage.

Shame about the switch – I agree with other reviewers, the toggle switch fails very easily. I have bought 3 of these over the last couple of years as they are a fantastic dryer for the money. with the latest dryer lasting less than 3 months. I won't be purchasing another, which is a shame as they are so lightweight and easy to use :(

Nice hairdryer but – I have had three of these in the last 18 months and each time the switch has failed. The latest dryer only lasted 3 months before the switch went. Very disappointed as the hairdryer itself was good. Wish the manufacturer would fix the problem.

Personal use is ok, but not for work – This is ok for personal use, but not for work, the plastic end melts, cracks and have had hair stuck to it. The plastic body gets sticky when used with other hair product. The switch breaks about 10% of the time.

Excellent – So great in fact that I bought my mum one too. It has two heats, 1 and 2. A de-fuser which makes my hair a little more tame. only damage is the plastic de-fuser has a few minor cracks in it. Great hair dryer with de-fuser for around $25. Great value. Nothing, it works great.
