Rowenta Air Force

Find it great, had it 5 years – I only have a smallish lounge, bedroom and spare room but find it has plenty of time on battery to do this. I love it, don't use big vacuum anymore at all. Even though only 18 volt it really picks up everything. Got to make sure you cut the hair out of the brush area though. Show details
Good for 2.5 years... Battery not charging fully now – Bought from Myer in December 2013.. Great vacuum, works well and had been very good for our apartment. Compact enough. Now after 2.5 years, even after an overnight charge, battery would last only about 9-10 minutes instead of the usual 20 minutes. Inquire about spare parts... Rowenta wants $130... almost the same as I paid new,,, $150!!!! Show details
Terrible maneuver – My back is killing me after vacuuming one room. It is so hard to maneuver that throughout the time you are vacuuming you feel like you are constantly fighting with the machine. Although they have a patent design for corners, how often do you do corners, the rest of the time you are vacuuming sideways.

Fantastic not regret. Convenient – Im really not sure why this cordless vacuum has received some low scores. I think maybe because they purchased the 12volt model. You get what you pay for. No brand at 12v is going to suck anything up. I did my research and bought the 24v and its just fantastic. Sucks everything, easy to get to corners, can twist to the side to get a bit under a… Read more · 2
couch, works well on carpet too. Ive owned an electroloux with lower voltage and its nowhere near as powerful a this. So i would honestly only reccomend the 24v model, in any brand really. Ive also trialled the dyson stick cordless vacuum thats sold for like $500 and i got to trial this for a month. Its great it works but it costs a bomb. I spent $220 for the rowenta from harvey norman. If i compare the 3 brands i use it goes something like this.
The electrolux has the smallest dirt compartment and is the hardest to clean. Nice and lightweight and its base is a stand which is nice and sturdy and has a detachable duster buster which is good for a quick clean of ur car. Charge isnt too long but lasts for maybe 20 mins only. The dyson is very light, multi use, good dirt collection, easy to clean, very powerful, feels a little too light in that im worried it would break easily, easiest to fit under furniture. Quick charge but only lasts 20 mins which i was not impressed at all with the price. You still have to wait a few hours for full charge again. The rowenta has the longest charge, its like ages like 10 hours but it lasts for 40-45 mins at full power so you can clean your entire house in one go. Its really hard to do ur whole house with the Electrolux or the dyson, like really hard.
To me the rowenta can replace the use of a corded vacuum, the othes cant. Vacuums well and easy to clean the canister and it holds alot of dirt. As mentioned b4 great for corners and great suction for the 24v model. The only downside is that it does not have a docking stand like the others do so it can easily fall over so u have to just take notice when u leave it somewhere. Its also good to know that u can leave it plugged in pemenantly to be able to use when u need and it wont burn the battery and runs on very little power. I reccomended it to a friend who bought it and just loves it. She calls it her little toy. I vacuum 4 times a day, yes 4 times. I have grubby messy kids andi dont mind at all. I used to vacuum only once a week with the corded vacuum and would curse the whole time im doing it. Im never annoyed to use the rowenta, havent used the corded one since i bought this. A must for a mum with young children. Best for floor boards but works well on carpet, not sure if ur house is mainly carpeted. Mine is mainly floorboards with lots of flat rugs.
**UPDATE** Nov 2014. So its been a year and my rowenta stick vacuum is still going strong. Suction just the same when purchased and still easy to clean. I use it on 2 low pile rug/carpets without problem but i still cant comment if its good in a house filled with carpet. I have mainly floorboards. I am so in love with a stick vacuum but it does need the 24v power. So worth the money and i have 2 friends who have bought since seeing mine and they love it. I have a 2 story house and havent taken out my corded vacuum since buying this. A must have for parents with kids!! Longest charge of all the brands, easy to clean, great canister storage, powerful suction, really stylish looking, i got the black one, can see the amount of dirt inside as caniste clear Easily unbalances if not positioned correctly when placing it, not as light as the electrolux but i prefer that because it feels quality
Love love love my rowenta air force – This is by far the best upright vac I have ever used . I have a dyson vacuum & I have to say it does not get used anywhere near as much now . I have 3 large indoor dogs , timber floors & various different rugs throughout my house ranging from flat to very high pile . This little beast does them all no problem . Like others have mentioned I cant… Read more
believe some of the negative reviews here , Maybe the 12v & 18v are not as good & that is the problem , I have the 24v . I am a cleaner and have used many different vacuums & I love this one . The shape of the head is brilliant fantastic for getting into corners . I have to empty mine after each use , but the I do have 3 dogs , I remove all the hair from the brush about every second use & wash the filter and swap it over with the spare each use . The only con to this machine is you do need to make sure it is standing well balanced othereise it does fall over . For the money I paid for this machine and the job that it does in my opinion its a bargain . I paid $199 for mine from harvey norman .
Horses for courses. Does a great job within the frame of it's capabilities – Well, you can't buy a Suzuki Swift and expect it to do the job of a Land Rover. If you bought the cleaner to whisk around the cat litter tray, clean up the crumbs of the kitchen floor and deal with a couple of heavy traffic areas which tend to get grubby quickly like the entryways in between full vacuuming, then you bought the right machine and… Read more
you won't be disappointed.
If you expect it to do the same job as your fully powered vacuum cleaner and generally power through the house picking up everything in it's path, then you will get on here and write dissatisfied grumpy reviews. Basically, it's a powered broom or an enhanced carpet sweeper.
I have four dogs, three cats and two kittens running around my house. It's a godsend for picking up the bits and pieces of garden they drag in with them every day and brilliant to give the house a quick once over when you get that phone call - you know the one; unexpected visitors are about to land on your doorstep in about ten minutes time. Have had no issues with charging, holding charge or bits breaking off. I like that you can wash the canister and filter and it the dust canister may be small but it is so very easy to empty! Come on ppl, I cannot believe anyone is grizzling about that.
Do yourself a favour, chuck the broom and get one of these. It's tall, like me. gets into little spaces and corners. So easy to empty and clean filter. Can't think of a thing. Does the job it is designed for.

Customer care – Phoned harvey norman and asked for contact number of Rowenta. 1300 307 824 It says tfal but they are linked. They'll give you a number of parts supplier in your area. Perth Willeton 93541488 For a new battery it is $77. Not sure if it is worth it Thanks to Harvey Norman for supplying the number as they don't stock the product any more
Best Stick Vacuum I've ever had – I've had quite a few stick vacuums in my time, including electrolux and expensive Dyson's and my Rowenta 24V is the best one yet! I have not pulled out my big vacuum since I bought this one to just do the tiles and around the kitchen. I've had it for over 1 year now and there has been no loss of suction at all. Which has always been my… Read more
problem with everything else I have owned. The only problem is that you have to make sure it is in the right position to stand it up otherwise it falls over which is not good.
It's a bit hard to get the barrell in and out but I still love it to piece's. Very easy to clean everything and I don't clean it that often at all. I would recommend this to anyone. I can't remember how much I paid for it but I can tell you it was only around $200 ish from Harvey Norman.
We are very pleased with it really great – Our next door neighbor has one that's why we purchased the only problem we had was removing bag less container to empty contents I cut 2 Mls of the bottom now slips in and out easy . Would recommend unit

it would have been a good unit if the cleaning head had not broken away from the handle. I bought th – this would have been a great cleaner if the cleaning head not broken off from the handle. I purchased the same unit for my son and the same thing happened to his cleaner. not good. I would not consider buying another cleaner perhaps if rowenta reads this review they might take pity on me & my son.
Great Cleaner, Crappy Service – This would be one of the best vacuum cleaners on the market better than Dyson Cordless, However as I found out today Rowenta no longer service Australia still sell their products in Australia tried to contact them NO LUCK email address on Rowenta Australia website is bogus rejected emails. Only wanted a $5.00 part small wheels under cleaner , managed to pressure Harvey Norman to abide with warranty and replace cleaner under warranty.
Non existent customer service – We purchased our Rowenta Delta Force Extreme 18V in April 2014 and was pleased with it's efficiency until about a month ago when the motor began cutting out during use and then stopped completely. We have tried to email the manufacturer and customer service but have received no reply. We've contacted a number of vacuum dealers who are listed as… Read more
local service people but none have been helpful. We would not purchase another Rowenta based on this poor customer service. The item is supposedly still under warranty but we are unable to get any response from the maker.

Better off using your hands – Useless for picking up anything. It looks great and is shaped great.. would be good if it actually picked up things.. back to my dyson... Really disappointed in this item. Held so much promise and literally doesnt pic up specks of fluff Just takes up space. I wouldnt even give it away shape doesnt pick up anything

Great little vacuum! – I have been using the 24v for around 2 months now and I love it. It works just as well as my miele vacuum. Very handy for quick use and I haven't actually had to use my regular vacuum since. It does have some cons which I will list below. Cleaning is easy, I usually empty dust after each use and wash it/remove wrapped hairs once every 3 uses which… Read more · 1
is when I also charge it. Great Suction, I love that it is cordless and it has great battery life which lasts 3 trips around my small house. Triangular head isnt really useful as there is no suction in that area, it is unstable when it is left in standing position and has fallen and marked my walls a few times. I find that once the suction is switched off dust starts falling out of the catchment so I find I need to leave it running right up to my bin before quickly switching off and holding over my bin.
Not fit for purpose – This is a shockingly bad vacuum cleaner. Now, fair enough, it's a small stick cleaner and one wouldn't expect it to be able to suck up as much debris and dust as a more powerful machine; however, it DOESN'T PICK UP ANYTHING. It's simply useless and not at all fit for purpose as a vacuum cleaner. The price It doesn't vacuum floors or carpets
Rowenta 12 v stick – Got one of these last year and it is great for our kitchen and laundry . The charger stopped working last week and after 1 phone call a replacement was posted to us in 24 hours at no charge. I had thown the docket away and no questions were asked . Good customer service and product. Very reliable
cant be serious – had the 12volt model for oneday, runs out of battery in less than 5 minutes, i am very dissapointed with my purchase.i will be returning it as soon as possible, they cant all be like this so i guess i was unfortunate enough to buy the lemon.if the battery life lasted as long as it should id be very happy. no battery life
This machine is indispensible - I love the Air Force Extreme 24Volt – My partner bought this for me as a gift. Our floors are mainly wood with some carpet. The suction is excellent and consistently maintained. It is easy to use & manoeuvre. The dust, dirt and sand are visible in the container & the rotating head removes long hair and short pet hair with ease - I even vacuum the fabric lounge & beds to remove the pet… Read more
hair - I love this machine! I just charge it overnight and with 45 mins vacuum time on the low setting (mine has 3 speeds) I only have to recharge once a week. I use this every day - it's reliable, quick and easy - no cords ... I just store it away in the linen cupboard with no hassles. The machine does seem a little unstable in the upright position - but I suspect that this is the trade off for having such great manoeuvrability - just make sure it's balanced when you stand it upright and it will be fine. This is an excellent, affordable alternative to an upright dyson in instances where the majority of your home is composed of wooden floorboards. Consistent suction, 45 min vacuum time, rotating head, quick - easy - reliable, Somewhat unstable in the upright position - this appears to be a trade off for great manoeuvrability
I wish I could say it sucks but that would be confusing – I bought this unit because I needed something cheap and easy for my apartment while living away from home. There were other cheap ones on sale but this one was a little more expensive so I thought I might pay a little bit extra if it meant I was getting a good vacuum cleaner. I was wrong. This thing doesn't pick up anything except microscopic dust… Read more
particles. Anything that the eye can actually see it doesn't have the power to pick up. Don't waste your time with this piece of rubbish, you will be disappointed. I will say one thing about it, the system is easy to empty and clean but if its picking up nothing, there is not much point in emptying it. Cleaning system It doesn't pick up anything.
Power! – I purchased this yesterday. I um'd and ah'd about voltage for ages! Didn't want to pay a fortune but didn't want something lack luster power wise! I'm very impressed with this machine! Very! Great of a stick vac – Bought this vac as I wanted something for everyday vacuuming with a toddler around. This is a good vacuum and a lot more powerful than other stick vacs I've tried. However I have tiles and live on a building site at the moment and the vacuum hates pebbles, gravel etc so I've given up using it for the moment until our environment is a bit cleaner.… Read more
I drag out my big vac everyday instead as it copes a lot better with the current mess! Looking forward to moving into house where it's less messy and this will be a lot easier to use daily! :) Light, good looking, much powerful than other stick vacs Hates pebbles, gravel on tiles- just shoots them back out
Love the cordless feature – Great vacuum cleaner. Good suction. Handy when you need to move between rooms without having to drag the cord along. Pretty light and I like how you can see the dust accumulating in the container. Still doesn't replace a normal vacuum cleaner when you need to get into crevices. It also needs a bit of care getting it back into the upright position… Read more
so it doesnt fall over. Needs a better clipping mechanism. However, so far so good on the floating floor boards and best for a room that is not too cluttered or has minimal furniture. light, easy to use, good suction feels unstable when standing upright in storage position. cant get into crevices.

An excellent surprise – Purchased mine around mid- January 2013 at a good price after reading up on others reviews and prices online. Worth the stars given. A reliable product. Easy to use, no issues with storage, charging and picking up any daily traffic in the house. Good suction all round. Do yourself a favor, Highly recommended. Reliable in between vacume cleanner. Picks up all daily traffic through the house, (carpets and floor - 2 speeds). Show 3 replies
Great item – I Love this vacuum. We use it every day on carpet and hard floors. We have had it for 18mths now. It is easy to manouver, long lasting power simpletoempty and clean. Strong suction. However in the time we have had it we have had 4 heads break on us.. The little flex clip that holds the head on has broken off. In saying this, the after sale service… Read more
and 2 year warranty is excellent. A simple phone call and a replacement is sent. Works well and great battery usage Have had the clip that holds the head on break
Lackluster suction, don't expect wonders – I want to like this vacuum, I really do! However, the lackluster suction is a major drawback and renders this nearly useless for vacuuming. It simply refuses to pick up tiny pieces of paper/crumbs etc, which for me makes it useless. The main 'wireless' draw card is not worth the inconvenience of having to bend down and pick up the small… Read more

IMO do not purchase this unit. Stick with a decent Miele or Dyson corded vac. Cordless Suction is lackluster

Convenient and easy! – Got this vacuum because I needed something more convenient than my regular plug in, pull around vacuum cleaner. It is quiet, has 2 different levels of power (1 for carpet and 1 for hard floors) and is easy to maneuver. It is quite tall so perhaps better suited to taller users. At 178cm I find it perfect for me. It is not a 2 in 1 with a handheld… Read more
vac but I don't find that to be a problem. It needs to emptied fairly regularly as the catcher is quite small. I find this a fair trade for the ease and convenience it provides. Be aware that the electrobrush on the bottom will catch hair around it quite easily. I haven't tested the full 40 min battery life advertised on the box but so far have managed to do my house twice without needing a recharge so I'm happy. If you don't remove the hair often enough it loses some suction. Price wise it is about middle range and on sale it is a great buy! Convenient, easy to use, great replacement for heavy, bulky plug in machine Electrobrush needs to have hair removed regularly but this job isn't too hard. Quite tall so shorter users may find it cumbersome.
Indispensable – My husband bought this cordless stick vac for me prior to Christmas as a gift - since I already had a vacuum cleaner I wasn't exactly thrilled but now I've been using it for a few weeks, I realise how indispensable it's become. It's great for quick clean ups around the house and having a lot of tiled areas, it's perfect. On carpet, I've found it… Read more
to be excellent too. I have one rug which I love but since it's mainly brown and it seems to cling to fluff which my other heavier vacuum cleaner even had trouble lifting, I've found the stick vac with the roller brush built into the head cleans this rug perfectly every time. That was the most impressive bit for me as I'd been cursing that rug for months since I'd bought it.
It has two power settings and I use the lower power on the tiles and the higher power setting on my carpets and rugs. I find the stick vac light to use and emptying is a breeze. Suction has been good and I've never had it fall over while on charge though I do have it in an out of the way place so it would never be knocked over. I've never run out of power and I've hardly used my big vacuum cleaner since getting this new "toy"....it's surprising just how much fluff it picks up even when the house looks clean. Light and easy to use. Emptying the canister is easy and access to the filter is also not a problem. I clean both after each use.
Great Machine – Being a disability pensioner with the use of only one arm, this vacuum cleaner is perfect for me. Apart from the fact of my disability, it is really great with excellent suction and easy to use emptying, also gets right into corners etc. I would recommend this for just about anyone, not just dis pensioners...cheers
Overall a good machine – I've had this vacuum for about a month now. I use it daily on my tiled floor. It picks up dirt great, even on the non-booster mode. I haven't used it for long enough that the battery runs dry but I always plug it into charger after every use. The only downside is it can leave scuff marks on the gloss tiles from the little rubber/plastic wheels.… Read more
For $95 from domayne I must say its worth the money. I considered a dyson but just couldn't afford to fork out $400. So this is a good choice for the person with a limited budget. Vacuums dirt very well, great suction. Can leave scuff marks on tiles
Simply Brilliant – I've had mine for over 2 months now - it gets used every second day.. I Love this thing - well worth the money. I was reluctant to get a cordless vac due to concerns over lack of power etc. but this thing is brilliant. I use it mainly on… Read more
hardwood floors, but was very surprised how well it cleaned carpet too. I wouldn't replace it as my main carpet vacuum, but it certainly does pickup lots of dust that I didn't even know was there.
Have absolutely nothing bad to say about it. Long battery life, easy to manoeuvre, lightweight
Great little vacuum – I have had mine for around a year now, and am really happy with it. We have two small dogs, one who loses a lot of black hairs, so I vacuum every day. This does the job really well. Gets into corners quite well due to its triangular shape. I did hear that its not so good on carpet, but I find it does really well - although our carpet is very short… Read more

this to anyone looking to purchase an upright cordless vacuum. I can't live without mine. Great suction and easy to operate
Poor build quality – I purchased this about 10 months ago. It is falling to pieces (The connectors won't hold, to pipes have broken) And the best piece is they say its not covered by the warranty! But for around 15% of the original purchase price you can get new parts! Wonderful deal that is! Do yourself a favour and make sure you do not purchase this companies products! Poor build quality, cannot get into tight spaces. Way overpriced
Not bad, needs a charging cradle – I bought this, as I own a very large, very hairy Golden Retriever, who seems to leave these tumbleweeds all over the hard floor. It does clean very well and is great for quick clean ups around the house. My only criticism is that it does not come with a charging bracket, and it is very unstable whilst charging. against a bookcase, which is not ideal. Cleans well No charging bracket, quite expensive for what it is.
Perfect – I can't speak highly enough of it. Perfect. It is very light, easy to maneuver, has no bags, no fuss, no chords and its wedged nose gets into corners very well. I have a small apartment with wooden and tiled floors and plenty of rugs. Does them all. I can vacuum the whole place in 5mins No bags, no chords, inexpensive, wedged nose, bristled brush for hair/fur, easy to charge.
