Samsonite Silhouette 8 Upright

Samonite for Quality – We bought ours in Costco in USA and it came with a carry on matching suitcase too. It was easy to use, pack and seemed very durable, we only used it on a return trip and that was a month ago so still have to use it more on multiple trips and see how it withstands the test of time. The main suitcase came with a combination lock and we also bought the hardshell spinner Samsonite which I will review also. Nice quality feel & fabric
Great Customer Service – In my line of work, it is required I travel quite a bit within Australia and Overseas. I was first introduced to Samsonite luggage by a friend who raved about how durable and long lasting they are. Well, to my surprise my first purchase fell apart two years after. I contacted Samonsite to report the damage, within 30 days, a replacement was made… Read more
avaiable to me. All had been ok for nearly 3 years when the handle came away. Again I contacted Samsonite (via emal) and the reply was "a part will be posted to you and to find out how to fix, please check out you tube for instructions". I was a bit miffed by this but thought, well if I can fix it myself for the time being, so be it. I sent another email, informing them all seemed ok, however I found it quite strange they would ask a customer to do their own repair jobs. They have replied, apologising for the inconvenience. I am to contact them for another replacement!! Whilst it is pain having to go thru all of this, I can not fault their customer service (credit where credit is due) Customer service
Why would you? – Will Samsonite honour their 10 year warranty if you do not keep a receipt that fades or gets thrown out? For both of my Samsonite cases where the handles are damaged they won't, both over the phone and in writing. expensive, no warranty service
Rubbish – I purchased this suitcase and it was rubbish. I had it for one month and went from Melbourne to Sydney and it fell apart. Don't waste your money. They would not f When I sent it back they would not cover any of it under the so called 10 year warranty they say it has.Save your money and buy one from Kmart and it will last longer. Samsonite suitcases and company are junk. fell apart / samsonite rubbish
Excellent – This is one of my favourite pieces of luggage, It is very tough and resists all that some of the most sloppy or determined to damage luggage handlers, and airport conveyor belts can throw at it. It cannot be torn, the zips are strong and one can actually force to close, merely by pulling on the zip (still not recommended for long life). It can be… Read more
expanded by undoing an extra zip, which doubles its size. It has a comfortable stow away handle and good sturdy wheels. On the inside it has good zips and ties for suits and small things. The ony downside is the fact that some pockets cannot be locked. In today's world that makes me nervous. Very tough, swallows an elephant, very light, easy to pull along, just the right size Not all pockets are lockable
Excellent – This is an excellent suit case. Samsonite is one of the better brands on the market and I am very happy with this case. It is quite large and a big brick shape and will take a lot of luggage with an expandable section and several different storage compartments. The wheels are of very high quality and this case is light weight and takes a big… Read more
load. I am very pleased with this purchase. It is the first Samsonite product I have owned and I am very pleased with it and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. Lightweight, sturdy, spacious, functional.
