It's likely to no longer be available but avoid if you do come across one – I bought one of these about 15 months ago. It's nice in the sense that it upscale DVDs, has a USB port with DivX, is hackable to be multi-region, and comes with a free HDMI cable. However, that's all the positive things that one could say about it. It's very slow to open/close the tray and worse it appears to be completely unreliable. I've barely used it, since it's not my main player, but it seems to have no ability to read a disc, despite being used less than twenty times. The discs are new and without defects - they play without any problems on other machines. Still, this thing reads discs to no avail, taking a very long time to ultimately do nothing with the disc.

Even if you see one very cheap, I'd advise against it. I've had many DVD players over the years and I can easily say that this one has been the most unresponsive machine I've ever owned.

I've had mixed experiences with Samsung products but this is one that I unequivocally condemn.

Incredibly unreliable

Unreliable & disappointing – I purchased Samsung DVD F1080 in July 08. It stopped working after a few months & was repaired under warranty. It stopped working again in July 11. Samsung was unhelpful & didn't even want to have the unit assessed by its registered repairer and refused to provide a replacement unit. No response to my emails regarding the unit from higher management at Samsung. Very disappointing attitude from Samsung regarding their unreliable product.

Good – The Samusng 1080P9 was a suitable purchase for us as it compiments the Samsing LCD we own. The HDMI cable came free with it at purchase, saving a few dollars. It is multi region capable once you unlock the function. Instructions are available on this. the remote is also capable of working on both the DVD player and a compatible Samsung TV. Over all we have been happy with it, however if you are looking for something which has a recording ability, this is not it. Free HDMI cable. Sleek design. Multi region (once you have unlocked it). Remote control can operate compatible Smasung TV's also. No ability to record. A bit slow to load and turn on.
