Best purchase I have ever made – I have had this TV for over 12 years now and it is still going strong and never had any issues with its performance. Has been an absolute pleasure using this TV over the years and is far and beyond the best purchase I have ever made. Obviously now with FTA networks switching over their 1080i channels to MPEG4, this tv, like all others made before 2009, cant process the MPEG4 channels and will require a set top box. Show details ·  1

Still going strong – I stumbled on this page and saw mostly negative reviews. Thought I'd add my own positive feedback as my panel is still going strong after all this time (purchased as soon as they were available in Australia as relative to Sony this panel was very affordable for Full HD). Maybe it will help someone who encounters one second hand since clearly they… Read more

are not all lemons.

It's not flawless (see cons) and certainly doesn't live up to the quality of the latest gen of panels but I will not replace this one unless it does eventually die, I need to fill a larger space, or I start to encounter compatibility issues with other components.

Back in the day I loathed that the MoviePlus feature never really worked and caused distracting and unnatural motion. It does have a quirk where it will revert from 'just scan' to a 16:9 overscan mode if the source isn't transmitting at 1080p.

My new receiver drops the HDMI pass-thru signal to SD if it isn't getting an input which means if I turn off a source before the TV I end up having to manually fix it when I turn back on again. This really only matters for consoles and PC and only happens on the HDMI input, not the PC input. Annoying but not a show stopper. Great picture (at the time), good amount of connections (3x HDMI, composite + audio, component + audio, VGA + audio).

Bad value for money! Be ware! – One month after warranty click click wouldn't turn on. Got it fixed!!!!!! One year later color had gone but perfect balck and white. Another repair job!! Looks like another firm ware upgrade!! What is a firm wear upgrade? Is it a capacitor or what? What are we really paying for when it is repaired? Buyers beware don't get caught with a Samsung unless you lke headaches and wasting your money on expensive useless products.

Terrible – Main boards replaced by Samsung four times in 2.5 years..still the same problem. Samsung customer service is appalling..Samsung have lost me as a customer. Excellent – This tv was definately worth the money. There are a few minor kinks with it, but nothing to bad... sometimes the TV guide doesn't work - it just states no information. Also, if you turn it off on the remote (stand by) it turns itself on for no apparent reason. Aside from that, the picture quality is outstanding (especially on Blu Ray) and the… Read more

sound is very impressive - even without having seperate home theatre speakers. We will be buying another TV in the next few months and will definately stick with Samsung. Looks great, fantastic picture and sound. Full HD. TV guide doesn't always work.

Bad – i enjoy this tv when it works, unfortunately in 5 months it has been to the repair agent twice, first time red line through the middle of the panel, second time pixels dropped out. if i had the money i would buy a pioneer. nice look, plenty of HDMI inputs, all the usual optical out, 2 component in, 1080p panel menu a little confusing, PIP only… Read more

works when your on AV1 or DTV not component or HDMI which is a let down, has trouble dealing with fast oving sport, picture sharpness.

Excellent – Coming from having just a regular tv since I was a kid, having this flat panel is really something! Every viewing time is a blissful experience. The clarity of display is just execeptional, and the sound is okay too. I'm proud to own this piece of extravagance. Vivid colour. Easy set-up. Sleek design Menu navigation can be a challenge at the beginning
