Another Samsung 3D TV spider crack – I purchased a Samsung 51” 3D smart TV in December 2011 for $1518 including a 24 months extended warranty and the extended warranty expired in Dec-2014. which we were watching, but still had no picture. Then, we decided to switch OFF and ON the TV using the remote, but this time we lost both the sound and the picture altogether. Since then, we have not been able to use the TV, however the red power light on the TV was still on.

We made a service call to the Samsung service centre in Vermont, Victoria and explained, what happened. A service technician came and almost immediately inspected the TV’s front panel with a light on his mobile phone and advised us, that there was an internal small “spider” crack on the TV. We were astonished to hear about the crack as we have never seen this crack before, until the TV stopped working.

Two days later, we were advised by the Samsung service centre according to the technician’s report, the crack was caused by a physically induced damage and the standard Consumer Protection Policy cannot be applied on this unit.

I wrote to the Samsung Head office, in detail about what happened and took several pictures of the TV to prove that it was not caused by any physical damage.

After three weeks of persistent phone calls and emails to the head office. They decided to send another technician for a 2nd review. However, 2 days later I was advised, that their technicians are well trained and a 2nd review is not necessary and they still believe that it was caused by physical damage and warranty cannot be applied and they still stand by their original technician’s report.

I categorically deny that, it was caused by any physical damage. I was shocked to hear, that I couldn’t get further support from Samsung to fix the issue and became helpless as I have paid more than $1500 for the TV and my family has been without a TV since 3 weeks ago.

I won't be any more !!!!! Smart Hub The screens crack due to thermal expansion, Samsung will not cover under warranty and tell you its your fault

Great picture. Good Internet. Voice control average – Great picture and the system looks good. The Internet feature is very good but you do need a Internet connection. The voice control and hand waving thing has never really worked for us. It seems to respond to my 3 year old screaming for his milk more than me saying 'tv on'!! Annoying how it reacts if you wave your hand up unrelated to the tv. Internet. Can't fault the picture quality Voice control and action control simply a gimmick

Sharp image. Perfect after 12 mths – Very happy with this unit. If anything is going to go wrong with a product it always happens to me. Not a great experience – I bought SAMSUNG PS64D8000 from HN in my local suburb. It was a brand new TV in the box. Turn on the screen, they stright away I can tell 1/4 from the top gone white. doesnt boot up. I can hear that the TV try to boot up, then its failed then it goes off. then the next 30sec, the TV try to boot up the screen by itself and so on.

I called up HN, asked to to pick up their TV back. I asked for full refund.

To other buyer, beware about this product. Keep in mind that you can return faulty TV up to 14 days from delivery, after that its between consumer and manufacture's service center. They wont easily replace you with a brand new tv, but instead they will try to fix it first. Some people that I knew have to wait 4 weeks for the parts to arrive or before they can replace it with the new one. The picture is very bright, crisp and user friendly. Wrong TV batch production. Twice receiving faulty TV.

put the kids in front of the TV and watch what they are surfing on the net.

It is such a great product, sometimes I dont want to use it, in case I break it. But have had it for a few months now and working perfectly. Absolutely the nest step in TV's.
