Excellent – I've been very happy with my Samsung SC9190 for 8 years because it's really easy to use, lightweight and cleans a variety of areas really thoroughly without having any hassles. I am only now needing to replace it as someone has managed to break it (and the Hema filter has come off), and have had my eye on Dyson but the price puts me off. I actually would be quite happy to buy the exact same model of Samsung over again which is why I got back on the site to check reviews.

OK – A good little machine, you need to look after the filter by washing each time to get the best out of it but don't expect it to last long. We have owned our Samsung for about 2 years and at the time we bought it were really pleased with what we got for the price. We originally went in wanting to buy a Dyson but were unsure whether they were worth the money or not. The salesman talked us into buying this Samsung as a cheaper alternative. It is very lightweight and has great suction as long as you clean the filter after each use. It is easy to use, just has what you need with no fuss. We hadn't owned it long before the bit which connects the hose to the handle cracked, so we had to tape it up to stop it breaking altogether. 3 weeks ago it died on me. Although the motor is still under warranty, the place we need to take it to to get fixed is only open when we are both at work so to save messing about we are just going to get a new one, think we will just spend the money and go for a Dyson this time, I might be old fashioned but I expect things like that to last a bit more than 2 years.

Excellent – I just returned my new Dyson for a refund. Went to another retailer and tried it out. I was looking for a multi purpose head (don't want the hassle of changing heads), good suction, easy to wash filter, bagless, light and ergonomically manouverable. I hate cleaning and found this vacuum a solid unit that you can grab quickly and not have to muck about. At first I thought this cheaper product would let me down like others that are under $200 (eg Kambrook & Nilfisk - poor suction, flimsy handles and components, multiple filters which are difficult to clean or have to be replaced). In the past I have been disappointed by Samsung products and warranties but I think you have turned a corner with this prodcut. Good one. It does all that the box says it will. Has a handle option that clicks on above the shaft which bends like a knuckle so you can vacuum under the lounge without bending your back. This is also a good extra extension piece to reach the cobwebs in the highest part of the ceiling. Only comes with what you need - not a bunch of overpriced features. I paid $195 which was 1/2 the price of Dyson and does my rugs and polished floors perfectly without scratching. At first I was sceptical but the control buttons on the handle are excellent and saves turning back to the barrel to switch on/off or vary suction - very efficient. Hose from handle to barrel could be slightly longer. Needs 2 batteries in the handle for the controls to operate. However You can do without the batteries and just use the controls on the barrel as per normal.

Excellent – I bought this vac today for AUD 233, thinking it was a bargain but it seems i could have got it for much less. I put it at work and is just amazing, it has 3 power suction steps and it's very quiet on the first one. You can speak almost normal and the other person doesn't need to be in the same room as you to be able to hear. Overall, it's great. Nothing YET

And it is time to re-review my previous review. After almost 2 years of perfect use my vacuum started having problems like turning on by itself and working like a car in 3 pistons. I would be curious to hear from other owners abou this sort of issues.

Update...took the vacuum to have it fixed and I was lucky enough I didn't have to pay as it was still within the warranty period. I haven't had any issues with it since.
