Works great for me – I don't know if this counts because I'm in Canada but I bought the SCX 3405W about a year and a half ago and it's always worked great for me. I can't comment on how well wireless works on it because I've never tried it. The printer is about a foot away from my laptop and that's the only thing I print from so I don't need wireless. Show details

Worst piece of hardware I ever had to work with – When it prints, it prints nicely. However, I was a fool to expect that to be a standard. It rarely happens that I can print some documents without any issues. The worst part is the horrible way to deal with problems - the printer just gets stuck... and that's it. Missing paper? Stuck, you have to restart the printer (and the print job). Sometimes… Read more

the paper get stuck for no obvious reason (printer just stops). This is maddening especially when printing a big double-sided document - you have the pages printed from one side already but now you have to restart the print job and either throw everything out or go paper by paper, printing the correct page on it. So wasteful. I've never had to throw out so much paper and swear so much with any printer I ever had. Never again Samsung printer.

It's totally a garbage – It has never been working smoothly. It wasted a lot of my time to make it work. Now it doesn't work at all. The wireless doesn't work since I bought it. It suddenly stopped to work even connected by cable. I can only print the setup page from inside the configuration web page of the print itself. No documents can be printed by any application.

Good wireless printer – I haven't had many problems with this printer. It's done its job that it's supposed to do. Only problem is that is prints on an angle and chops the bottom of the page. Found the wireless connection didn't work the best when the device your printing from is within 1 metre from the printer.

No Tech support – I own an SCX-3405W printer and I have not been able to use it at all. The printer did not come with a CD and the printer drivers downloaded from the Samsung's website do not work. I have emailed Samsung explaining the problem and requesting a CD. They have never responded to my request. I have been ripped off and I will never buy anything Samsung again.

Awful – The wireless is useless. Works about 1 in 100. As a USB printer it works ok, but that isn't why I bought it.

Review of Samsung scx3405fw – I bought a Samsung scx-3405fw multi-function printer some months ago and had to return it to the shop next day as the wireless function would not accept my wireless password. I was given another Samsung scx 3405fw printer in its place and had no trouble setting up the wireless connection. It printed, scanned and copied quite adequately. Having now… Read more

moved to broadband and having changed my internet provider have just tried chnaging the password to get my laptop able to send pages to print wirelessly. The printer will not accept my new password.

The Samsung scx 3405fw is a low-end piece of equipment costing around $140-$180AUD. As noted in my previous review, it is not overly strongly built but is adequate,or should be, as a home multi-function printer/fax/copier/scanner. However, this failure to recognise passwords for ones internet is not a good point and the help and instructions really are rather a mess to deal with. So I have down-graded my rating to one star, as ease of use and consistency of use with one's wireless system is essential these days. Lightweight; not excessively expensive; toner available from assorted sources at low cost Lousy wireless system;sloppy instructions and help; not robust..

Review of Samsung multifunction printer/scanner/fax/copier – The Samsung CSX multifunction lkaser printer/scanner/copier/fax gadget is relatively light, fits tidily in a reasonable space on a computer shelf and prints and scans and prints in black and white OK. It costs around $145-$180 depending where it is bought and the cartridges are not overly expensive. Generic toner cartridges are available and work.… Read more

It is also a bit flimsy in construction, lacks a decent tray for paper and the small (1cm x4cm) screen saying what is going on is unreadable because it lacks a back-light.

It is wirelessed and connects to one's computer through one's internet modem. The first one I bought refused to accept my internet password and after 2 1/2 hours working with my internet provider's very patient technical support, we gave up and I returned the machine to the shop, who supplied me with another which has so far worked perfectly.

There are no doubt more robust and better multi-function laser printers, but they seem to cost around $100 more, at least. So if you want a cheap, laser, black and white, wirelessed multi-function gadget, the Samsung SCX-3400 will do the job as long as you make sure you keep your receipt to return it to the shop if it causes trouble.

Rubbish - it is really bad – I had a previous Samsung printer and it was fantastic, extremely reliable. I needed a combined printer/scanner/copier and decided on Samsung based on my positive past experience. But this is the most appalling printer I have owned. It doesn't scan or copy and I can only print one document at a time - I need to restart the computer in order to… Read more

print another document - it doesn't queue print jobs. I have spoken to Samsung numerous and they cannot assist me. Samsung also lie, saying they will escalate the problem to a higher level and call me back, but don't. Never buy, Terrible customer service.

Great Printer easy to use and set up – I bought this last week, I am in France, cant speak French nor read the French instrucyions. It set up perfectly 1st time on an old Dell laptop under Windows XP. The previous reviewer is pathetic to deride a great printer like this.Get a life! This is a great printer, does what it says it does, intalls easily and the instructions (even in French… Read more

Piece of useless plastic garbage – Worst electronic mistake ever. After installing, works fine for a while, until computer or printer is shut down. Printer is not recognised ever if USB cable is plugged in! Instructions are hard to understand. Very frustrating as you will follow their hard to understand instructions, then something wont work, even though you do exactly what the… Read more

instructions say. Curse will not print when you need it the most. wish I spent the money on a better printer. Dont make the same mistake I did. If you value your blood pressure, dont buy it. Simply just Korean junk None Poor service, poor product which wont communicate with computer.

Sounds like that was a classic communications problem ie USB Port rather than a printer problem
