Best bed in the word – I bought a Sealy Posturpedic Enhance Silken Celeste medium in 2016 to try and get good sleep for a change and I found it very comfortable after sleeping on a very very hard no brand matress that the springs were visable on the fabric as impressions embossed on it, The springs used to hurt my funny bone and hips so i bought my Sealy matress, on… Read more ·  1

the 1st night i slept in it i did not even wake up until 11.30 am and was 4 hours late for my job. So I slept fantastically with full cumfort. I am a Disability pensioner with major spinal injuries, I have only got one disc in my spine that is not ruptured or petruded or just simply not there anymore and thats from my skull to my bum, and I am currently still having surgeries for a previous major injury so I need a good bed, i had the matress 1 year but it was stolen from me, but I did notice slight indents but not any kind of ridges or valleys but there was a slight bit of loose fabric where I slept, but not any real issue at xmas 2019. I called it the best bed in the world, I only had it for 3 years ish

Terrible mattress, and time for Consumer Affairs – We purchased a Sealy Silken Celeste Medium mattress 28/6/2015 ($2,099.00) and after only 2 months had deep indentations where we both lay. Sealy came out and agreed it was faulty, and instead of a replacement, we paid extra and Upgraded to the King Size Celeste Firm.. we were also told a slatted bed may have been the problem and paid a further… Read more

$800.00 for the matching divan base.($2,8999.00) + $800.000

Unfortunately, we have found the same issues with the King, in fact, we have a permanent high ridge in the centre. We regularly turn as instructed and this has led to a further 2 indentations so now there are 4 dents and at anytime our back, hips and legs are sleeping on 2 indentations and cannot get over the ridge in the middle. Advice included “ one of you sleep on the ridge to squash it down and level the bed out” the sagging areas will never be laid out. As we were moving interstate to QLD we were also told wait until you get there to complain, as that is where the factory is and they will be able to help you better.

We finally rang Sealy 3 weeks ago and had someone come out to inspect... Lo and behold, just like all the other complaints here on this site, our sags did not quite meet Sealy standards in depth... yes we are a whole millimetre out..

But... “without admitting liability, and as a good will gesture” they took it away. Their report states, Factory Inspection...Panel good....replace goodwill...foams to spec good....Spring unit...good.. And so it was returned...

The customer service boys certainly have their clever pitch, friendly nature, and banter down pat about how ALL mattresses have this problem and it’s just the new types of mattresses we get these days..

Well it’s only 3 weeks later, and I’m loathe to say our indentations are worse, our entire high ridge is still present and I can’t believe Anything was done when it was taken away for inspection. I note that this mattress has now been discontinued.

It would appear to me Sealy have forgotten how to manufacture a mattress, and our next recourse appears to be consumer affairs.

VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH QUALITY – We purchased a "Firm" King Size mattress less than 4 years ago and have found that in the last 12 months the mattress is sagging on both sides of the bed. Terrible mattress, huge waste of money – Bought a king size posture pedicure panorama firm bed about 4 years ago. Within the year my husband found it was sagging under him. Disappointed with sealy – I bought a Sealy Silken Celeste King Ensemble in April 2016. I complained to Sealy when it was 8 months old - that I also have to climb over the ridge in the middle of the king ensemble and we fall into the dips. (It also gets very hot). They have very professional 'customer care people', that have all the answers as to 'what we should be… Read more

I have to wait for the dips to be 32mm in depth before they might do something - at the moment the dips are over 20mm and very noticeable - so I probably only have to wait another year before it 'might' be claimable. This near new bed cost me $3799 and looks over 20 years old with two big dips in it. I have to buy 3 other beds soon, after this experience with Sealy it looks like I will have to go to another brand.

Soft yet supportive. I love my mattress! – We've had this mattress for a few years now and love it. Ours is a plush feel, and while it's soft, it's still supportive. My partner was sick so he slept in the spare room a couple of nights ago. He woke up with stiff and sore ribs, lower back and hips. The spare room mattress is a no-name brand we've had for years, and I can't believe I've been letting guests sleep on it. We're off to buy a new Sealy to replace it this week.  Show details ·  1

Sealy is all about the name and their very difficult to deal with the customer service – No good is not how durable is the worse mattress I ever sleep. Hard like sleep on concrete. Excellent Sealy Cavendish Firm – I recently purchased a Sealy Cavendish Firm Queen ensemble and it is excellent. The mattress is still soft but with a strong firm support underneath. Super comfortable and has definitely improved my quality of sleep. In the past I have found cushion tops to be comfortable in the store but often too soft for a prolonged period of time so this time I went with the firm option and could not be happier.

Terrible bed - Terrible service. Will never buy a Sealy product again – Supposedly top of the range Sealy Posturepedic Prestige Collection Majestic plush One sided comfort layer bed! husband and I sleep leaving a middle hump. I informed Sealy of this and was advised to allow settling, months later after rotation, etc. still the same? I wrote and rang speaking to numerous people, with no satisfaction. I feel this should not happen, even with being away 3 months and the bed having had minimal use, I was asked to persevere longer which we did and still dents getting deeper? I recently rang again, explaining the obvious hump, only to be told by some smart aleck to "sleep in the middle"! One sided comfort layer, clearly this is a manufactures way of cutting cost. Mattress's not only need to be rotated from end to end but also flipped over to settle well and wear evenly. I wish I had never bought this bed, $2800.00 later worst nights sleep ever. Now sleeping on a $500.00 bed bought for the guest room and its tremendous! I will NEVER buy a Sealy Posturepedic or any other Sealy product again and over the years bought many! Terrible bed, terrible customer service. Sealy NO longer respond to any feedback here, I wonder why Sealy?? I'm still waiting for a response!

Wonderful bed and service – I recently bought a Prestige range Double Panorama for my son. The bed is perfect. It is firm but still has a cushion top making it extremely comfortable for a growing boy. Since purchasing his quality of sleep has definitely improved. Terrible mattress - if I could give negative stars I would – We purchased a Sealy Posturepedic verdi mattress after a lengthy test in store. Worst Purchase in years – I am so disappointed by this mattress. We wanted a mattress that was not going to form the ruts in it from where the bodies rest. Even with the correct care and rotation, it has very obvious and very… Read more

uncomfortable ruts. Upon rotating it will be ok for a couple of hours, but then back to deep ruts. My husband and I are not big people - at 50kg and 70kg - a mattress should be able to withstand much much heavier than this.

Sealys response re their 10 year warranty is a very long list of requirements that you have to meet before they will send someone out - of which we are supposed to pay for. This is not a 10 year warranty at all - at best it is a 12 month warranty - the period in which they will send someone out at no cost - so long as you meet their requirements. Obvious rutting started just after 12 months. The 10 year warranty gave us confidence at purchase that what they were claiming might be the case - instead we have been fooled. We did so much research and were very wary as it was.

We are now left with a mattress that leaves both my husband and I aching each morning until we can justify spending money on another one so soon after buying a new one. Will never buy sealy again. It does have very strong walls. Very uncomfortable, unreliable warranty.

Instead of helping with our joint pain, it has exacerbated the problem as we now both toss and turn all night and the heat coming from the mattress is unbearable even though we only use a very lightweight cover. When you move from one part of the bed to another...the spot you moved from feels as if there is an electric blanket under it!!!

Everyone told us " it takes time to get used to a new bed", but after 15 months and our 2nd spring/summer, we are still waiting!!!!

Because we are pensioners in our 70's we don't have the income to replace this bed, so we are stuck with it and still owe $1400.

Pain every morning. Comfort but no back support – I bought Sealy Posturepedic Prestige king size mattress & its matching base from Myer in early Dec 2012 at discounted price (RRP was around $5k). It's been the most regretable purchased that I have ever made. After first night sleeping on Sealy Posturepedic Prestige mattress, I woke up with sore & pain on my middle back. Same soreness… Read more

happens nearly every morning. If I sleep less, I am ok. The longer I sleep (over 6hr) the more intense & longer the soreness & pain on my back which occassionally spread to my lower ribs. In average the misery lasts for 2hr after getting out from the bed. I generally feel ok during the day sitting or standing. But, if I sleep 8hr or longer, the soreness stays the whole day.

I rang Sealy after the second or third night. Despite my concern that I had never have that kind of soreness/pain before (after sleeping on others' beds either in hotel or others' home), I was told the standard answer (Must try longer to allow body to adjust, rotate mattress as instructed, charges for inspection & option to change topper if problem persist (at cost)).

A month later (early Jan 2013), as problem persists, I went to Myer, trying to understand the problem, my right as consumer & what my choice. Dissapointment only.

Can't get refund - hiegenic issue (despite mattress protector always used). Inspection at cost if no fault proven. Pillow top or whole bed replacement at cost but no guarantee.

My logical explanation to myself is that the pillow top - although comfortable - is causing the pain due to lack of support to the spine.

Good feel for short time, but bad for people with sensitive back/ spine.

(My partner has no issue sleeping anywhere).

My phisioterapist's advised thatvI slept with bad bending posture causing spine spasm which explained the soreness on the middle back travelled to the upper abdoment (ribs). When he pressed the spine on certain location, pain travelled to the surrounding area.

The Sealy sales rep at Myer insisted that posturepedic mattress is firm enough to support people with back problem and mattress topper regardless firm, medium or soft are for comfort/feel preference.

I do blame myself for having sensitive back. I try to get used to with the pain everymorning for a year but it's just unbearable.

I long for good painfree after deep sleep & feel so betrayed by my decision to invest in a strong brand Australian made mattress, paying thousands of dollar expectiny long term usage over 10years.

Today is another morning with soreness on my back & ribs. After, I encountered with Sealy advertisement on TV late afternoon, I decided to write this review so others can avoid same situation as mine.

Buying much lower cost product like clothes even underwear is easier or saver than buying mattresses at hundreds or thousand dollars.

Where's the consumer protection in this case? Misleading product ads/sales pitch? Posturepedic but bad posture.

Some of you may wonder why I still hang-on to this mattress and dont ditch or change to another mattress. Well, I also self wonder. no pressure point. comfortable for short time. bad for back. not fit for purpose. expensive. poor consumer protection.

After i had enough of the laying on the board feeling i rang sealy and the rep came to look at it he had no idea on what to do that is may be just a comfort issue so after a few more weeks on me thinking what i should do i got the rep back out to look he sejested taking out the soft foam n replacing it with firm foam to try n stop the pillow top going down in the middle he was really nice did this half price but unfortanly the firm is just horrible relives no pressure points and the exact same thing is happening it gives way around the hips making me still feel like im sleeping on a board. NO MORE SLEEP WITH SEALY – we were very excited to go and buy our new mattress, we tested many of them and decided that the sealy posturepedic prestige range was great. hip pain and I could not longer get any sleep since it arrived. I was told to buy a large flat piece of sturdy wood to go under it for more support as my slat bed was not suited to this type of mattress, buy new pillows as mine were most probably old and not puffy enough, not to put a puffer top on it as they aren't suitable, that the bed needed to be turned every two weeks, that beds like these need to settle. This bed is now 3.5 months old and I have no sleep anymore, when you lie on it your head is lower than your middle and your feet are also lower than your middle but this is normal they say. Today they came for an inspection as I expected all is well with my bed even though you can visually see that the middle of the bed is significantly higher from one side to the other, in much technical discussion I am told too bad how sad, we can take adjust do this do that but it will cost more on top of the $4,500 you have already paid, your warranty will be voided and we can't promise that it will fix the problem or if the bed will last. I have been back to the store 3 times to check out the one in the show room and lie on it again and again there is no lump where the so called comfort core is, even in the photo's on Sealy web site these mattresses are flat, the lump in mine can also be seen when it is fully made, this is some lump I tell you. I am now stuck with a bed that cost $4,500 and neither myself or my husband can get any sleep on it. ??????? DO NOT BUY A BED FROM SEALY THEY ARE RUDE, NO FOLLOW UP SERVICE AND NO SOLUTION FOR THE CUSTOMER THAT IS RESPECTFUL. I would like to thank David Jones for their wonderful service and support during this ordeal. We are in our 70s and pensioners and bought this ensemble thinking it would help our physical probs but climbing in and out of this bed proved difficult as we are not tall - our bedside cabinets were suddenly down in height and this was bad- we also found the mattress caused body heat - yes we use cotton sheets and have a wool underlay. We could have spent a lot less, and got a better, longer lasting mattress. Beware of pillowtops, they shorten the life of the whole thing a lot. Sealy is a good name, and you REALLY pay for it, but it does not add any value to the sleep quality, and the warranty, which they make a lot of, is effectively impossible to use, with loads of exemptions. Terrible – I bought a Sealy Royal Splendour mattress 2 years ago and it has developed a ridge down the centre even though I (152cm) am the only one using it. what Sealy describes as an essential item for the warranty out of paper and place it where it will get torn when sheets are put on and off the bed? (No prizes for answers). Of course mine had torn in two. I later discovered the rest of it under the bed. Then Sealy wanted $33 to come and inspect the mattress. IF the mattress was faulty, this would be refunded and the mattress would be taken away, repaired and returned the same day. There was no talk at all of replacing the mattress. I do not expect this sort of treatment for a mattress which cost $3000. It seems to me that because Sealy supplies to Myer it thinks that it does not have to worry about customer service or about honouring its warranties. I will never buy Sealy again and I will tell all my friends.

Ridge in centre, height, very poor customer service.
