Very good with a few issues – This was my first set of travel headphones. I've always liked the Sennheiser range, and these are no exception. They've very comfortable to wear and easy to use. The sound noise cancelling does a great job and the sound quality is also excellent. The battery life is pretty good and having a removable battery means you could get spares if required.… Read more

It's quick to charge though. The two biggest issues I have with them is the noise cancelling clips badly during takeoff on a plane. Once airborne and in the climb it clips a little and once in the cruise it's fine. The second is the sound quality takes a hit when using the noise cancelling. The flexibility to use a cable or bluetooth is fantastic and I usually just go with bluetooth for the convenience. Overall I'm very happy with these headphones and would recommend them.

Great, but battery life trumped by the QC35s – At the time, the choice was between the QC25s (wired only, looked a bit dorky), the Sennheisers and other less popular options like the Parrot Ziks etc. The MM 550-X were the best choice at the time and are amazing headphones, don't get me wrong. Unfortunately an 8 hour battery life is just not enough for a travel headphone. The QC25s are in the range of 20+ hours.  Show details

Expensive – I have had these for a few years now. Sound systems is good with these headphones. The batteries that are additional are not cheap. Negative thing is after awhile the headphones break in the middle and are not fixable for around $600 these are not cheap. Would i buy another pair No.  Show details

Expensive – Brought these headphones a few years ago around $600 it's everything u want in a headphone bluetooth, wireless, comes with all the accessories for travel. Sound is very good. After awhile the middle part of the head snaps and i noticed it's a problem with other sennheiser buyers. For the amount of money u pay u won't get ur moneys worth.  Show details

Reasonably good technology - but too many negatives – I have used these extensively for a few years now, and to be honest I wouldn't have purchased had I known more about it (not many reviews at that time). I wear them just about every day on the train to work, and overseas a couple of times. I would agree with other reviews regarding the poor bass response, and complete lack of bass with the… Read more

"noise cancellation" on - which really doesn't do much more than cut a bit of background hum/hiss, very little to reduce other 'noise'.

Quite complicated controls had me checking the manual several times.

The headband broke twice! - not through damage but just appeared distorted, getting worse, until they were unusable. Sennheiser replaced at no charge the first time, and reluctantly the 2nd time after I suggested I would raise a fair trading case.

Appearance-wise, I have had comments regarding their size, including someone saying when I was wearing a cap as well at the time, that she thought I was wearing one of those hats with beer cans on the side

Great sound – Borrowed my sons 550-travel headphones. Only had them for a day but that was enough to realise the music reproduction is terrific. Didn't try the many features like Sound Through, noise cancelling etc but they impressed me except in two respects. The max volume is not that loud. I couldn't live with them on this point alone. They also have a… Read more

slight but annoying echo when used for phone calls which some people could live with. Try before you buy. Music reproduction. Comfort Max volume too low. Expensive. Slight echo during phone calls

Amazing!!! – I wasn't sure what I was looking for in a wireless headphone until I got my MM550's. The sound quality is amazing! They are connect via bluetooth and fully ibntegrate with your smartphone for ipod, video and call functionality. The noise guard feature is great and can be activated at the click of a button, so that you can go from listening to… Read more

music or watching a movie, to speaking to someone, without removing your headphones. It will even pause the music/movie for you.

You do have to take the time to become familiar with the buttons which are located on the earpiece but its relatively easy.

They are comfortable and can be made quite small, to fit a child or someone like myself, and cup the ear well, blocking outside noise and being able to be worn for hours at a time.

T0hy fold down neatly to fit into the small carry case that is included, along with all the major power adaptor fittings, to charge the rechargable battery (which can be charged in the headphones or seperately).

Overall, they are kinda pricey, but they are a fantastic product. Awesome sound, incredibly comfortable
