because they would tell me half an hour before the job finished of the price). Furniture damaged, seal on our fridge ripped, expensive mattresses arrived dirty, sofa arrived dirty and informed the guy. He wrote it on the invoice/receipt. They left our large screen TV and other items behind and wanted to charge me to go back and get them. Furniture and boxes just shoved in rooms, tv's left laying on the floor, boxes broken and opened. They couldn't care less because they had another job to go to. I called their customer service twice on the day to firstly express my concern about the time it was taking ([name removed] told me it wasn't good enough and she would check with them why they were taking so long) and secondly to express my dissatisfaction of items being left behind and I was told to put it all in writing and attach photos of the damage which I did. [name removed] also told me that they SHOULD go back and get the TV and not charge me for it. After this debacle, to add insult to injury we find out we are missing a carryon luggage bag containing several pairs of sneakers, our son's GoPro and other items which I alerted them to. I received the following reply from someone in their team: "Thank you for your below email but you didn't pay the guys and they had to wait for another 30 min which we charged you for. They left the items in the property that way as unfortunately you didn't want to pay the bill and called the office and abused [name removed] over the phone. Nothing was mentioned about damages and therefore we didn't do any damage" I replied to this email from who I gather is the owner, pointing out that I had been overcharged, that there were damaged items written on the invoice and that I would prefer to resolve this privately without the need to go to VCAT I received this: "Please proceed to VCAT as you hold the guys for extra 30mins that you have paid for as you said you are going to the ATM and the guys waited for you. At the end you paid for them waiting for you and at the end you paid on card...we are paying for this waiting time and charge it as well from you. No damages were mentioned during the move and nothing was noted on the invoice about damages." DO NOT hire these people! All the promises at the beginning during the initial phone calls but at the end of the day you'll be out $$, your furniture will be damaged, left behind and stolen. We are reporting the theft to VicPol.

Use another removal firm – We used this company twice after they were recommended to us. First experience was excellent hence we used them again to move our stuff back to our renovated house. The management couldn't have been less concerned when I complained. Just a dreadful experience that left us feeling awful and totally ripped off. Amazing Service! – I had a LOT of stuff to move, we filled a 16 tonne truck! The Guys worked like work horses! Friendly at all times, no swearing or bad language was used at anytime (that we could hear :) I would like to thank the Office staff who made all the arrangements, the guys for an AMAZING job well done. Highly Recommended – Would highly recommend this company- quick and easy to deal with- the office stuff as well as the removalist. we moved from a 3 bedroom to a 3 bedrooms in Port Melbourne and the job was done quick and efficient.

Disappointed – Moved in early December 2017 and had two laptops go missing in the move (3 bedroom house, same suburb), not recovered - I lost two years of baby photos of my son. No one from management ever called me back, even just to express their concern or empathy. I had to call repeatedly just to get them to check and confirm that they hadn’t been left behind in the truck “by accident”. Very disappointing experience, would not recommend.

I have never felt so ripped off in my life – Absolutely disgusting. It was a large house move (5 bedrooms, 3 living areas), and furniture was in storage for 4 months in between houses. ever bought 5 of something, and had to pay a higher price for the sixth seventh and eighth??? Then they tried to charge me a higher rate for all the containers. They blatantly try to rip you off. Also charged a higher rate moving it back in. I had a quote for the move, and they just made up prices as they went along, they did not reference the quote. First they did not take off the deposit from the price of the move, said they would take it off when I moved it from storage. Then when I moved it out of storage, I had to pay another 100 deposit, and they also refused to take that off the account. It took phone call after phone call to get the deposit back.

I have never left a review on the internet, but they were blatantly ripping people off. Please Please read the bad reviews, you know they are not made up. Anyone can post a good one (including them.....)

On a positive, the guys who did the work were friendly and hard working. Please, if you do one thing this year, make it using another removalist besides Shelley..don't take any notice of the lovely girl at reception who gives the quotes, you won't deal with her again once they have your business... its the horrible people you deal with after that will make you wish you had never used them... please read through the reviews.. the bad are sooooooo bad.. its all about getting ripped off, i can handle bad service, but not being stolen from. Dishonest, Arrogant And Scared of VCAT – Furniture removal (for 3 bedroom home) was from Point Cook to Point Cook. I was billed inappropriately, the charges were not as per Shelly's email confirmation. The total of overcharge was $210.00 1. The hourly rate was changed from $114.00 to $128.00. 2. 4. My deposit of $100 was not deducted from the total charge.

I communicated by email with Shelly Removals for two months in attempts to recover the overcharge. Replies from Shelly were arrogant, and the information provided was scant. Shelly scoffed at my notice of intention to lodge a complaint with VCAT.

Shortly after I lodged a complaint with VCAT and served the papers on Shelly Removals, I received an unpleasant but satisfying email from Shelly confirming they had refunded the total sum of my claim.

Your rights are worth fighting for.

They overcharge and are slow terrible experience – After being quoted by email and by phone we arranged for a 9am move, yes they were an hour late and pretty slow after 2 hours the truck was loaded with our i bedroom furniture and i was asked if i would like to pay cash or card, i handed over my card which was charged before i had chance to ask the cost. storage i had already paid $100 deposit i was charged another $928 big shock and was told that i would get an itemised account that i could question. Alas after 6 emails and 2 phone calls no itemised account has been forthcoming what a disappointment..after 7 days i received an itemised account it was a 2 hour unloading of the house and 3 and 1/4 hours to get to storage and unload it plus petrol levy etc gst nothing like the quote indication. Long long delay – Scheduled to arrive between 1 - 3 pm, ended up arriving at around 7 pm. uneconomic/low priority then they should either refuse to take it on, make the minimum price higher, or be honest with the customer in advance about possible substantial delays spanning many hours.

Having said that - the actual removalist employees (two of them) when they arrived were very good. They were careful and courteous, and I certainly do not blame them for the delay.

Terrible - didn't turn up! – We waited over 3 and a half hours and they never turned up. I ended up postponing our move which was a huge inconvenience. Very disappointing and frustrating.

In trying to rectify the situation, Shelly aren't very interested now that they have our money.

Such a shame and a let down to their staff who do a great job, fingers crossed they realise and work for someone else.

In short, the move was for a 2 bedroom apartment, moving 2 blocks (same street), move did not start or finish on time. Cost almost $900!

They've said it was a hard move which I can state that it was not as I had moved the bulk of the heavy boxes myself in previous days. They had 3 guys so it should have been a breeze.

If you're a man then the guys will show up and do a great job, but it seems that if you are a woman on your own they will take advantage and milk you for everything they can.

100% AVOID.

I recently used Shelly to move a 2 bedroom house to a new address from Collingwood to Richmond.

After the team at head office moved things around to suit my needs, 2 removal men turned up on the day to do my move.

They managed to smash through the whole move in 2hrs and 4 mins, very impressive considering my move was probably bigger than expected and I had a piano to move.

Guys didn't muck around and communicated well. My belongings were looked after and nothing was broken or damaged.

Would definitely recommend to anyone moving in Melbourne.

have communication with their drivers, that they would get back to me (and never did). I had to leave at 5pm to relieve the Carer I had organised for my Mum who has dementia. I requested a refund on my $100 deposit and they said they would but a week later I am still waiting.

No communication, no service, no apology for stuffing me around. I am starting to wonder if the whole thing is a scam. Avoid this company at all costs.

Couldn't have been more smooth – Moved a two bedroom house. Was organised for 2-4pm, but Shelly's called me to see if I could do it earlier on the day, the communication was great. They called to organise a quote quickly, and the two guys on the day were helpful, professional and pleasant. Everything was loaded and unloaded quickly and with care. Would definitely recommend.

is now 4pm with not a call from customer to tell me where my drivers are. I have taken a day off work to accommodate this move. Absolutely fuming. The lady that I called on numerous occasions was rude, miss informing and absolutely shocking at providing any for of customer service.

Great Service with Care – We had a 3 bedroom home to move. The two gentleman assigned to the task were extremely courtesy, very hard working and friendly and most importantly very careful to ensure no damage occurred.

Best removalists I've ever worked with! – 3 bedroom house, short distance move. Everything went smoothly, quote and completion estimate were accurate, removalists were prompt, fast and attentive to all my needs. Absolutely perfect experience. Definitely highly recommended!

Avoid at all cost – I would not recommend Shelly Removals to anyone. They lost our goods, damaged our property and do not have the courtesy to respond to phone calls or emails seeking a resolution to our complaint hence this negative (but very honest) feedback.

Absolutely Horrific Customer Service – Without doubt the worst customer service I have ever experienced. A 1 bedroom move booked for 5:00pm, did not turn up, I called at 6:00pm got dismissed and told to be patient. I called at 9:00pm after they still hadn't turned up and got abused, they called me a racist [swearing word removed]. Got a call back from the manager that told me he hired too many refugees and he was sorry that they abused me. Do not use this company.

Worst experience ever – It was a terrible, the guys told me to come at 1100 hrs but they arrived on 1200 hrs and after that one of the guy was slowing down the move which took almost 5 hours to load the truck which they unloaded after agreeing to the total hours and paid the money in 1.5 hours( all bcoz it was 2100 hrs). travel time in the email which they sent me. but after reaching delver address they charged me for 8 hours . When I asked the guys how come it will come so much money they do not want to explain. One of the guy became Aggressive and told they will not unload the goods and they are not allowing me to speak to anyone . At last they given me one of the person in the phone. What a disgrace – We had a 3 bedroom and 2 living room move approximately 10 minute drive down the road to Caulfield. The removalists were extremely slow and when they were taking furniture inside damaged the paintwork on walls and doors. I sent a message to the owner who apologised profusely and promised someone would come out again today.....no one showed up again.....5 appointments i total and each time nobody turned up

Excellent movers – Had a great experience with our move from Kew to hawthorn. Customer service was friendly and professional. First class service – Had a great experience with our move from caulfield to st kilda. Really happy with our move, the service was friendly, extremely efficient and very professional from beginning to end.
