Excellent VoIP Cordless Phone – We upgraded our old cordless phone to the Siemens Gigaset C470 IP as we wanted a reliable phone and one which support dual VoIP / Fixed lines mode. The decision proved worthwhile as the C470 IP is nothing short of an excellent all rounder VoIP cordless phone. We use a number of its inherent features daily including weather info (through IP services), speaker phone, address book. Siemens also provided excellent customer service during the one time we had an issue with the IP service. Robust, reliable, support for dual-mode, excellent speakerphone, feature packed including as an information hub

VoIp made simple and flawless – After using many ATA devices i splashed out on a C470IP recently and would never go bad to an ATA or inbuilt VoIP on a Modem Router. Sounds is flawless and clear. Especially useful is the fact you can leave the base station with your Modem and place all the handsets where you want them. Excelent customer Service from Siemens Gigaset, Supports multiple handsets, Easily supports extra handsets, Call quality excellent Could do with an answering machine function C475IP not available in Australia

Excellent – A very solid VoIP Phone and that is easy to setup. I would highly recommend this unit as it has a lot of flexability for even the more demanding user. I work in IT and have put this phone though its paces and have to say it hasn't let me down. Call quality has always been very good, clear, crisp and as good as a normal Landline. I have being using this for over a year now and don't have any complaints at all. I happen to have three different VoIP accounts and the great thing about this unit is that it allows up to 6 to be configured into the base. To switch between the providors is as easy as adding a #2 or #3 to end of the number.

If you have more than one Handset, you can assign it to use any of the preconfigured Services should you choose. In short these units are very flexible and for the price around $179 is excellent value.

Quality German made, - Excellent Sound, Speaker Phone, very good battery life, Headphone Jack, Free calls to other Siemens VoIP phone owners globally (You receive a number from Siemens).

Easy to configure, additional handsets can also be purchased and as noted above be configured to use whatever line you choose. None so far. If I wanted to be really picky, the shape of the handset is roundish so hard to balance on the shoulder if using both hands.

Australian consumers should be aware that Siemens phone products purchased in Australia can be up to 50% higher than in the USA. I personally cannot support a company that practices this type of dual marketing. I am sick of being ripped off

A tad unfair to single out Siemens on that count, you will find that it is the same for most companies. One cannot compare Oz prices to USA.

How much do they cost in say England or Ireland. Shouldn't they be really cheap being close to Siemens Germany. They aren't.

Anyhow, this is about a Review and the phone is excellent. I am still using mine problem free. Since writing the review a year ago, I bought another to use on a different Voip account.

PS: Paid $95.00. Shop around and you might be surprised what pops up.

I agree the phone is excellent, but part of any review has to be value for money. I only single Siemens out because this is a review about their product. As long as consumers put up with this sort of pricing discrimination it will continue. There is no reason for the price difference to be so large except that companies like Siemens feel they can get away with it. I was in importing for 20 years- Australian consumers are seen as ripe for the plucking.
