Silver Cross Dazzle

Not to the standard expected of a Silver Cross – We got the Dazzle as we could get a cot for it and Silver Cross have (had?) a good reputation. However, we are very disapointed in it and it certainly has tarnished the reputation of Silver Cross we had. There are a few good points; it folds down well (when not using the cot accessory) and it quite light. Thats about it for the good points. … Read more
Starting from the top of the stroller, the handles look good and snazzy but after a hour of pushing they actually make your wrists hurt.
The fabric tears quite easily around the 'cutouts' that the hood slots into - a fiddly job in itself as you have to line up the fabric cutouts with the frame slots.
The seated area is quite fiddly and a job to clean due to all the ripples tight corners.
The wheels pick up dirt and twigs and debris very easily and are tough to get untangled from the twigs etc.
Finally; Silver Cross have decided to liberally use velcro all over the place, including a lot in the cot accessory. It has destroyed so many woollen jumpers and cardigans it is not funny - the latest wrecked pullover prompted this review. Light, folds away. Its a Silver Cross Woollens destroying cheap velco everywhere. Poor fabric. Badly designed handles. Debris gathering wheels.
Updated review on the latest Dazzle – Have had the old Dazzle and yes agree with other reviews that there is no sun shade; wheels dirty the hood; brakes are tough etc but there were good things about it which made us upgrade and purchase the newer model. HOWEVER, with the newer model, the flap on the sun shade is a big improvement for shade as with being able to lock the sunshade in… Read more

(old model, the sun shade would flip back when windy); tough or dodgy brakes are hard to comment on as this can be the case for any branded stroller regardless (i didn't have any brake issues with my old Dazzle); as with the wheels marking the hood- that was fixed by scotch guarding the hood; with the offroading- i only used it purely for pavement pounding so cannot comment there; and for the tipping factor- which stroller doesn't tip when u hang stuff on there? Lets be fair now.
However, we would hang shopping/groceries on the lock handle that sits halfway down the frame and it doesn't tip (even with a 2L bottle of milk), so we didn't have any tipping issues.
The newer model also has velco open/close access to the basket under the stroller when the seat is fully reclined so you can still access.
Decided to upgrade to the newer Dazzle because we had the carrycot from the old model which works on the new model. Plus, our 2.5 yo can sit in it comfortably and have a nap
in it. Most prams/strollers dont cater for 2.5 yo, especially for a comfy nap! Suitable for tall/big babies; lasts from newborn right through to toddler age; light weight; lies flat The hood could do with further improvement
sometimes best isn't better – Bought the fern colour as it looked really nice, but easily tips and even harder to do a simple small shop as there's no real storage. It's easy to clean the seat down but have tried pulling the pram apart to wash and some parts don't even come off for washing. For the price you pay, the expectations won't met except for looking good, bought a… Read more
cheaper one since, doesn't look as good but does the job. Looks great flimsy, hard to wash and very small storage
OK as an umbrella stroller, but not as an all purpose pram – We've had this pram for almost 2 years - bought it as an all purpose birth to toddler pram, including the bassinet attachment. My son is quite tall so could only use the bassinet for about 3 months, but it worked quite well through this stage. BUT - I soon found it doesn't really suit as an all purpose pram. It's VERY bumpy on grass or gravel,… Read more
I kick the back of the stroller when walking, it's very hard to use with only one hand (so no coffee, talking on phone, and very difficult to walk the dog!). I agree that baby slumps in it at all ages, and the sun shade may as well not be there. We ended up buying an outlook shade which works great. It is however, pretty good as a general stroller to keep in the car b/c it's so light weight (and you don't need shade). My son also slept very easily in it as he could lay flat. It has been good for travel.
Am now looking for a better all purpose pram - I wouldn't buy this again. A maclaren would probably make more sense as a general stroller. Looks great, is so easy to steer and negotiate tight corners (around cafe chairs and tables, through shops), very light and easy to fold and unfold. Good to use in shopping centres, cafes, galleries, etc. ZERO sun shade from hood (a real problem when walking in the Ozzy sun) although good shade when using bassinet, squeaky wheels, break is almost impossible to get off without using your hands, child slumps when sitting in it, rough ride on anything but smooth concrete.
Terrible – We were jooped! The sales person did a great job! I'm now in the market for another pram. One of the reasons we purchased the 'Silver Cross- Dazzle' was the theory that it would see our child from being a newborn to young boy. WRONG! Hard rubbish collection is coming up soon, if you see a black 'Dazzle' BEWARE! Do not buy this pram/stroller!!!… Read more
It's light and fits into the back of my Honda Jazz. The pram is nice and narrow and I never have had any issues with door frames etc. Very maneuverable.
I liked the concept of all the accessories as there seemed to be something for any type of weather etc. Expensive. We paid over $800 for the pram, bassinet and accessories pack. The wheels wobble and squeek. My son (8mnths) looks uncomfortable in the pram as it makes him constantly slouch. The storage is vertually non-existant and the pram is prone to tipping even with the lightest of bags on the handles. The sun cover does'nt even come close to shading my son in any way, although it may do when he's nine years old!!! The sun cover gets dirty from the wheels whenever you close the pram up, and it cannot handle any terrain other than supermarket and shopping centre isles.
Bad – All I can say is don't buy this pram. I have had 2 of them and they didn't even last 1 year without breaking down. The squeak is annoying and it is a rough ride if the ground is not smooth. I bought the bassinet attachment for the pram and my daughter grew out of it in 3 months and never wanted a bar of it. And she is a SMALL baby. But she was… Read more
happy sleeping in the much roomier Valco bassinet. Yes true, there's a difference between the use of the Silver Cross Dazzler and a Valco Runabout 3 wheeler....but that doesn't mean that you should sell a product of inferior quality. Like everyone else, I thought it looked good, it's very light, folds down easily and it was great around the city where the ground is flat. This is a flimsy product and I'm completely surprised that Silver Cross hasn't pulled it yet. The wheels do squeak, it is terrible on any surface that is not flat (eg, grass, gravel, cobblestones), the shade is hopeless because the seat is long and the hood sits very far away from the baby's head, my baby couldn't sit up straight in this pram, not even when she could walk, you can't push the pram with one hand (so no coffees or phone while you're pushing the pram) and the basket below is extremely small and the elastic holding the basket sides to the pram frame keeps unhooking.
In my case, after only 6 months, I couldn't put the brakes on. Luckily, the customer service in Victoria is fabulous and she immediately gave me a temporary replacement while my pram went in for a service. My pram came back fine but 3 months later, the rubber/plastic strap that the toddler is meant to rest their feet on broke! Customer service said that this shouldn't happen and gave me a brand new pram...which was great! But after another 5 months, the wheels have gotten stuck and don't turn properly. I haven't been back to customer service since because we moved away from the city and the pram became totally useless. I ended up buying a 3 wheel massive Valco pram which is built like a tank. My daughter sat upright in this new pram straightaway and she LOVES it.
Good – I really love the dazzle my favourite stroller so far and there is gorgeous colours to choose from ive had fern & bluberry and the fabric is so easy to clean I love that it goes to 25kilos the seat is alot bigger that most strollers and since its alot taller than most strollers which is good when your a tall mum the handles are a bit flimsy and its tippy if you hang things on the handles.
Good – I really love this pram, so easy to use and lightweight. Also purchased the carry cot which was great in the early months. Regardless of it's cons I still consider this a great pram. Lightweight. Great colours (instead of black and grey). Ease of use, two movements to collapse the frame. Wheels marking on hood. Slight squeak in wheels.
Terrible – Had this stroller for 3 months when wheels started squeaking loudly, the frame felt like it was going to fall apart. My 12 month old child slumped in the seat and seemed unable to sit upright in it. When you fold the stroller the wheels mark the hood making it dirty and doesn't clean well. The hood offers no shade from the sun, thought about… Read more
buying accesory pack but costs an extra $200.
A complete waste of money, I have now got rid of it. Looks nice Hood doesn't shade. Wheels squeak. Baby slumps in seat. Poor quality for price. Accesories expensive.
