Solagex - don't bother – Absolutely apauling communication. 17 attempts in a week via phone and email to contact them after deposit paid. No response, phones in Syd, Melb and Adl went to answering service. Melb office rang back and had no clue about my contract and said "Qld running it now" Got 1st communication 6 weeks after paying and threatening consumer affairs.… Read more
System eventually installed OK but still no communication to say it was done. Absolute shocking management and clearly too busy to care. This was a very scary experience, thought we'd done our money. So many Aust companies now are letting us down..
Poor management, zero customer service, care or communication

what panels – Paid our deposit , but solagex were unable to be contacted again. Contacted Beau he told me they had gone bankrupt. and he did not work for them any more. I would be quite happy if you returned my deposit. Very disappointed . We think the whole sales pitch that was given to us was a big con. Have not got any panels yet
Solagex Service – We arranged for Solagex in June last year. It was finally installed about October. Now the Sunna inverter appears to have stuffed up. I have tried to contact Solagex previously with no luck. I have just found this site. We are in Rockhampton so there will be no service available. Everything from the day they installed the system it could not… Read more
be connected to the Ergon network. After a long time they then had to re-installl all the previous work in order to connect it to the Ergon network.
Do not use Solagex – We purchased a Sunny Roo SR2000TL from Solagex in June 2011 on 29/9/2012 the inverter failed. After four e-mails with no response, and five hours of being 'first in line to speak to an available representative' over four days. I finally spoke to a person. The representative told me that a lot customers had purchased Inverters that had failed… Read more
and they had been replaced, but Solagex can not do anything about our Inverter until after a Class Action against Beyond Building Systems. She said she would put me on the list for the Class Action. I have spoken to The Department of Fair Trading who said that as Solagex sold and installed the Inverter, that it is Solagex responsibility to repair or replace it, regardless of any Class Action pending. Since I have already been told that it can not be repaired I would like it to be replaced as soon as possible. I'm losing money every day it is not working.
After another week of trying to contact Solagex I gave up and on Tuesday I lodged a complaint with the Dept. Fair Trading.
Customer service in non existant
Solar not working – I have been trying to get in contact with Solagex for a month now with no luck... hopeless customer service. I would not recomend them to any one. ........... The solar power generated doesn't even come to have the amount they promised us, I have been trying to contact them but I can never get through, I have email but no response....

Not covering half our bills! – We've had our panels for just over 12 months and was told that our system would well and truly cover our electricity bills. The system doesn't even cover half of our bills and we've purposely used less electricity to reduce usage. We've had perfect weather so they can't blame not enough sunshine in Queensland at the moment! I've been in contact… Read more
with them for over 6 months now and get the same response..."I'm waiting to hear back from our head engineer." Do not use Solargex!
High cost for $400 back in electricity every year. Bad bad investment!
Frustrating communication - will take legal action to get results – Solagex installed at our place just under 12 months ago costing approx $25000. The inverter has stopped working. When we rang solagex 2-3 weeks ago, they admitted that they had had trouble with that particular model failing. The company they were getting them off had gone broke apparently. We were told that it would take 4-6 weeks to get new… Read more
inverter. We were pretty annoyed. We considered if they knew there were faults with these models they should have sent out notification to be aware and had stock on hand ready for immediate replacement for when they failed. We asked for a confirmation email to be sent to us to confirm we had lodged a claim before we ran out of warranty as it is nearly 12 months. We never received the email. We haven't been able to contact anyone since. We have made dozens of calls, only to be put on hold until it drops out - sometimes up to 4 hours - I know - who hangs onto a phone on hold for 4 hours. We are worried we have done our money and if we dont' get communication today I will be taking legal action to get results. Just not good enough!
Communication - Faulty Products - Aftersales service appalling.
Not happy! – The salesperson recommened a 2.82kw system to cover our electricity bill. Not knowing any better agreed and everything was installed. I am now stuck with a system that is too small and still have to pay 230+ electricity bills on top of our fortnightly repayments for the system. Will still have to pay electricity when I own the bloody thing! … Read more
Grrrr. Also after being on hold for 1/2 an hour 2 days in a row (not having my calls returned) they've said I can get 2-3 more solar panels which I will have to pay for!
Beware of their sales people!
Solagex Review - Solar panels – I ordered a solar system 6 months ago from a company that went under and lost my full $3000 deposit. Despite this i still wanted solar on my home. I did as much research as i possibly could and found the best products on the market. This is when i found that 'Solagex' supplied the material.I then called them for a quote. The guys knew what they… Read more
were talking about not like every other company that were just trying to sell me cheap 190w chinese panels saying they were the best out there. Me being me was still not convinced, so I did some further investigation on the company and found some bad reviews.. After recieving a call again from the sales guy i brought this up and he was more than happy to find someone in my area that they had installed. I was even more suprised to find out it was someone in my street. I went there viewed the system and seen it operating and the install was top notch! His experience with Solagex was great too. I decided to bight the bullet and call Solagex and ordered a 3.29kw for just short of $16,000 installed on a payment plan. It was on my roof and operational within 4 weeks, the installers were fantastic and the sales guy called me the day after install. It's now been up there for 5 months and my previous power bill was in credit :-) There was some but reviews on these guys but they did a fantastic job for. I recommend these to ALL! Great product. Friendly staff. Super quick install. Great communication Price high - but you get what you pay for
Saving money on power bill – Bought 2 systems from solagex one for my investment property and one for my own house. Installation & process was absolutely smooth. Couldn't ask for better. For my rental property my tenant is already getting money back for last quarter she got over 220 dollars. Waiting for my own property to see how much would I be saving. I have decromatic roof… Read more
so most of the installers were too expansive to do the installation and solagex got it done for same price
Communication after signing contract was very poor – "Wonder boy, Z generation, just hit puberty" salesguy had all the sweet talk to get us to sign up in October 2010. We ignored the sales push and went ahead with it anyway because we knew the principal of the value in having panels on our roof and contributing to the grid. The price and timing from ACT AGL here in Canberra was also neccessary… Read more
because the Kwt hr rate ws about to drop too.
Once signed up, Solagex just completely, and I mean it really, completely forgot about us. Absolutely no followup calls from them. Nothing! All calls were instigated by us. Too many to mention overall. After 8 months, we had the panels on the roof, no clear idea when they were going to be conected up or anything. Eventually cracked it with them and threatened to take them to small claims tribunal and persue an ombudsman. Solagex then offered to pay back 3 months worth of power (averaged) as if we had the panels connected. This knocked approximately $700 off initial layout cost of $11,000. I refused to pay anything more than the deposit until the job was completely finished because I smelt a rat. Solagex kept pushing for us to pay, but I refused until the entire job was finished up until waiting for the power comapny to come out and connect new meter.
4 weeks later (no fault of Solagex) ACT AGL power company replaced existing meter and system becan to produce power. That took a total of 9 months, after being promised by "boy wonder sales guy" it would take only six weeks at the maximum, possibly 8 weeks because of Xmas & New Year etc?
Now (early November 2011) after 3 months of power production from the panels, the inverter has just completely stopped working. Complete failure despite many attempts at reset etc. Rang Solagex 10 days ago and was promised electrical contractor would come out and replace it and that I would hear from him within one day. Of course I did not hear from him at all after three days, so called him myself. He sounded very positive and promised to replace inverter by Friday latest. It's now midnight Friday afternoon and I am still lookng at a dead inverter bolted to the side of my house, whilst the sun is shining profusely overhead. I can see that I will probably spend the next few weeks on the phone pushing for this to get replaced, and I am guaranteed Solagex will pull the same organisational stunts they have done before during initial installation of the entire system (they will ignore me).
This company is based on the Gold Coast. Every time we ring you have the feeling that when the phone goes down that they could not care less because you are so far from the stupid Gold Coast.
Our advice to anyone, think seriously about Solagex before signing up. We have neighbours either side of us who used different solar panel companies, got much better service, much quicker service, and therefore connected to the grid three months maximum (each) after signing up with their companies, and now their inverters are still working while mine is completely dead and returning nothing to us or the electrical grid.
We are so disappointed with all this. Solagex is just not that good. Stay away folks! It was a good idea at the time Took to long. Company head office in QLD and we were in Canberra. After contract signing service was absolutely atrociuos.
Good product, friendly staff – I live in Bundaberg and was taken care of by [name removed] from Solagex, who was a pleasure to deal with. We purchased a 10kw system which was installed with Qcells panels. The system was installed within 3 weeks from ordering. I have now had the system for just over 3 months and have received 2 follow up calls from Di to ensure we were happy… Read more
and have seen the performance of the system reflect on the bill which it has even more so than what was promised. my expectations were well exceeded. great service
excellent service, quick install – For the record I am not employed by Solagex - I am just a very very happy customer. Having checked out a number of solar panel options I settled on Solargex after one of their information nights. Being happy with the specs of the Qcells and German manufacture I signed up for instalation. Due to finances they were organised to install at the end of… Read more
March - at the end of February they were contacting me to install the system. Small problem was I hadn't had my electrician in to upgrade the electricity box. No problem at all for Solagex: the guys installed what they could there and then on the day and worked around my electrician, coming back another day to finish off. I Couldn't be happier with the earlier-than-promt install or their willingness to work around my electrician. Before Ergon replaced the meter in the box I was able to watch the little flat disc going backwards for several days and that was with the aircon and big colour TV blaring away. I live in Bundaberg and have a 3.5 Kw system and the items installed are identical to the pictures in the brouchures. With all installed I am more than happy with Solagex. Fast, prompt, worked their schedule around mine not aware of any

Appalling Customer Service – In a nut shell Solagex rang non stop till they got our business and then couldn't be bothered dealing with us after. We wasted 7 days of having to take time off work and my husband knocked back overtime shifts waiting for them to either install the product or on the electrician to connect it. Most of the no shows we didn't get even a phone call… Read more
and had to chase them ourselves only to be promised another day and compensation ( which we are still waiting on almost 3 months after the fact). To top it off they took 2.5 months to submit the paperwork to energex to upgrade our meter. We now need to wait another 48 days for energex to be able to do this. So after nearly 6 months we might be able to get the benefit from our solar system that we are paying Solagex for every month.
Poor customer service
Great product – Solagex was not the cheapest quote I got but after doing some research I found that there qcells panels are the top panel available and to me the quality was worth the premium. The installers were very friendly and helpful. The system took a while to get connected but I believe this was not due to solagex as actewagl has a long wait time to get this done Quality Nothing wrong
Best experience – i live in the United States, we got quotes on solar from just about everyone, Verengo, Solar City, REC etc... and Solagex was by far the best price and product and probably the service out of them all! German made panels not from China like the others use. We are very happy with our decision! Thank you Solagex! zero out of pocket and great product
