local electrician, who found the fault - a wire joiner had been incorrectly installed.

It was easy to find, it was the one one the roof all melted and the wire had burnt, obviously it had been on fire at one point. The electrician looked at some of the other joiners and recommended that they all be replaced. I was really concerned about the ones in the ceiling cavity in case there was another fire. Next he showed me a copy of the inverter installation manual.

It clearly stated that the inverter was not to be mounted in the direct sunlight and it had been mounted on the eastern side of the house. What an incompetent bunch! So between fixing the wiring, replacing all the other joiners, the power I lost in the delays and while it was broken and relocating the inverter it will eight years before we turn one dollar from solar power. Getting solar power was a good idea. Getting solar power from Solar Free was just a disaster. Like some else said, avoid them like the plague.

True Value Solar Will Not Get You Finance – I purchased from true value solar being assured i would get finance. They took $700 deposit. Finance didn't go through and they kept my deposit and wouldn't give it back. It was just a method to get my deposit. Since then, i have had another company install the same system with finance in days! True value solar will sign you up just to get your deposit!

second invoice because apparently all the delays caused by the faulty work done by their contractors was my fault. Never mind about the income from the 12 months worth of electricity that I missed out on. The really appalling thing is that the same thing happened to many, many people in Canberra. Solar Free then had the audacity to ask the ACT government for $1,000,000, expecting the ACT tax payers to pay for all their screw-ups. The good news is that they will be going out of business shortly. If you want more information on why, do a google search for "solar free" and fail. No doubt about it, Solar Free is the worst company that I have had the misfortune to have done business with. Solar Free will be going out of business shortly They employed really bad contractors, were 12 months late and then made me pay twice.

Definitely Recommend Solar Free – My pre-inspection and installation was completed within 3 weeks from the time of purchase. The best part was, even though there was no early inspection dates available with ACTPLA - Solar free did their best and got me an earlier date. I would recommend Solar Free anytime !!! reliable, i feel i have got a system and value for money

Switching to Solar Free was the best decision we ever made – From the first consultation to the finished product there was nothing but pure professionalism. The quality of the product is second to none. German engineered and designed means a great long lasting product We were very impressed in the customer service we received. Great savings on last 2 quarters and good service – I am glad, I went with solarfree as I received exceptional service every time I called them for any information- even after my system was installed and commissioned. Hearing stories of customers who have paid money with other companies and still not installed and companies shut down on them and losing their money completely, I believe I made the best choice especially as I have received more than expected returns. I would recommend solarfree any time, as I also have 4 other colleagues of mine who are amazed with the returns and on going support we receive. very energy efficient, exceptional service, good product

Very disgruntled – I live in the ACT and we paid for our solar panels in April 2011 and we are stll waiting for connection.. Very poor service!

their Conergy panels are high quality. Funny thing, they are German made even though they are made in China. The reason for this is the manufacturing machines or "robots" are German, thus they are German made, even though the workers around the machines are Chinese. Would happily recommend. Kept to their initial quote, turned up on time and did a neat job.

Paid my $5000 in May and still waiting for my panels (its now September) – Totally disorganised. I am missing 2 panels. ACTPla have failed the work done so far. I paid for these units 4 months ago in full and am still not connected. I can't even get through to them via phone! Disorganised. Don't turn and keep missing appointments. Destroyed my plants by trampling them.
