Not a Problem – We've had our unit since June 2012 and is well used, app. 10-12 hours a day and is still working perfectly fine. Now while it might not play all video formats from usb media storage do not despair as there are certainly some ways around this problem i.e format conversion programs or direct streaming through a device such as a PS3.
Soniq L47S10A 120cm LED TV – Bought this 120 cm (47") TV over a year ago, and it has a serious problem with its sound system, which other reviewers have pointed out. It was priced very competitively (ie, it was cheap). I took it back for repair, but that didn't help, and it was very difficult to take it back myself (they wouldn't come and get it). If you are thinking of… Read more
getting a SONIQ TV, make sure you listen to the sound in the shop before purchase. But is has a good picture. Actually, I feed the sound thru a home theatre system (using a digital set top box to split the sound out as the TV has not 'sound out' connector), so it works okay for me. Good picture. Plenty of input connectors. Absolutely terrible sound system
Great for the money – I've had this model since Oct 2010, It's not a topline LED from a Japanese marque, once you get that clear in your mind you will see what great value for the money this model is. We have this TV on for at least 6 hours a day and it's never missed a beat. We use it mostly with our Foxtel HD box and after initial tweaks in the menu ie. low level… Read more · 2
sharpening, and normal setting with brightness, contrast and brightness all set to ~ 40%. We have the light down in the evening and an over-vivid picture in the dimmed room can be very tiring and this TV arrives very bright indeed - showroom mode I think it's called in the trade. The rear USB port is rather hard to access owing to the closeness of the power lead. When I tried to use it, none of my video clips played, but I suspect they were in a format not supported by this TV.
Looks good with it's piano finish and stand.
There are not a lot of controls in the menu, say compared to a Samsung we also own.
This TV doesn't handle highly compressed SD material very well, you can expect jaggies, motion lag and artefacts when faced with this, so not great for sports.
Buy this for under $500 and it's great value. Price, reliability and decent looks Picture problems with compressed low definition content.
sensational – I have had one of these tv's for almost a year now, i have had no problems at all, HD works well, with 3 hdmi inputs, usb, it is awesome value for the 699 i paid for it back then... im sure its only 599 now... it works well
Great, inexpensive 42 Inch LCD Tv – Purchased last october (2010) from JB Hi-Fi, for $599, easy to tune, sound is good, picture great even for high speed sports on SD channels, even better on HD channels, great hooked up to your PC via hdmi, or even a USB drive, reasonable viewing angle. No issues at all even after a year Show 2 replies
100% perfect – Date for writing this review 23/04/12 Screen is bright (you can select how you want the picture, different modes), sounds is good (different sound settings), remote is good (comes with batteries), setup was an ease. looks perfect playing blurays (full 1080P). screen cleaning cloth too.
- Make sure to turn down the 100HZ motion optimizer or you might get "Tearing" of the picture.
- Under Options for the 42" LED the '100Hz Motion Plus' can be changed from High to: Standard, Low or Off.
I turned mine off, it's already 100hz. $499 Cheap 42" thats 100hz
Great picture but the sound? – Just purchased 47 inch soniq and returned it the same day due to distorted, buzzing, vibrating sound. Replaced it with another one and it has the same problems. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Sound in unclear
