Moved to UK and Soniq TV do not work here – Recently I moved to UK and to the shock this TV does not work in UK. I was transferred to one of the Commonwealth country however this TV gave me pain by NOT working. Terribly upset
Terrible – Soniq are a cheap piece of rubbish and would in no way recommend. Spend the extra to get a better tv. Price lasted until the warranty expired, then the TV expired.
Terrible – I will never in my life buy another Soniq product. They products are faulty and the customer service is horrid. Cheap... but nasty After 3 months it broke, the store let me return it. Then after another 3 months it broke again, the Soniq customer service guy I spoke to was horrid and unhelpful. It took me 2 weeks of calls to get them to take it… Read more
for repairs under warranty (the repair shop had many Soniq TV's there to be fixed) and now it's broken again, exactly the same as before, and Soniq are refusing to do anything about it because it's just outside of the one year warranty.
Bad – I think this product needs to be looked at more closely. The TV is going back to JB tomorrow having just found the receipt. I will not be getting it replaced. It seemed o.k. nice and bright and did what it was supposed to do My 14 year old son has now had three electric shocks from it. This occurs when he changed the DVD player at the back of the TV. The last shock actually burnt his leg where the shock exited his body.
Was the tv turned off when he changed the dvd player? People are very susceptible to being… Read more
Terrible – As with all other reviews we are experiencing the same problems and the right hand side has a distortion looks like screen burn When it was working properly for about 3 months it was great. Service tells you next to nothing
Terrible – In the case of motor vehicles' manufacturer's defects, they always recall their products, as with food or drugs. This is a case for recall. Consumers ought to be protected and not be inconvenienced. Paul Lesmurdie WA For the features & design, it's attractively priced. Works well in the initial months but mine at 18 months developed panel… Read more
problem - switching off automatically. It also disenabled the functioning of the remote control to restart. Had to switch off mains & restart. It got progressively worse with the complete panel breaking down. What was I to do? The warranty of 12 months was over. Sought out the dealer JB HiFi for help. Put me on to the technician who rejected the fixing. So I sought out my local technician, but he failed. In the User's Manual, no manufacturer's name was mentioned and there appeared to be no authorised service centre for the brand in Perth where I live.
Excellent – was of to a rough start which turned out very good, but as with most new products they somtimes have problems just like windows 2000, xp home and professional vista etc ,you get the picture.these were repaired as i suspect soniq has things under control as well.a plasma tv is sort of like a computer inside needing to talk to itself.after learning a… Read more
little more about my tv and having no more problems i feel very comfortable with it .ps the owners from sydney where polite and very helpfull. a nice machine thankyou. peter from perth. my soniq 50" hd plasma is an attractive unit ,with agood clear picture thanks to a samsung panel ,crisp sound,it has many functions all working perfectly.easy to tune easy to connect outside devices with many planely marked or colour coded port wholes. 42" and 50"had the same problem caused by the same component.i bought a soniq tv ,a 50 inch hd plasma , and i also had the shutting down problem 3 times in the first 12 months.1 fixed itself,2 the plasma tv was replaced under soniq factory instructions(sydney by the way),the 3rd warranty running out,( second tv) stopped as well, same as before.now im scared and angry very angry.contacted sydney which can be done through or by your retailer in my case jb hi-fi.(dont let a bunch of school kids tell you that you cant ).they flew out imediatly (COUPLE OF DAYS)to repair mine and some others that were broken.the problem turned out to be a simple $12 power surge ,fuse ,circuit breaker, thing about 2 inches long .everybody was fixed.it took them a little while to figure this out,i perhaps had more luck with the timing of there discovery of the problem. ihave owned this tv for nearly 4years,sinse the final repair 3 years ago it hasnt missed abeat.
Excellent – we have had 42 plasma for over 3 years its been a pleasure to have it. the only thing now, is front screen has been smashed from a wii control It was cheaper at the time we bought the tv but it has been good so far ....no problems and we have been happy.
Terrible – This panel would have to be my least favourite purchase of all time. In 18 months, the panel was developed a very bad flicker, that progresses to intermittently shutting the panel off, to not being able to turn the panel on again. It has done this twice. In the week it took for the tech to get to my place (I live within 10km of the centre of… Read more
Brisbane) the day before the tech arrived, the problem fixed itself. So the tech has replaced the same part twice now.
Also, the panel has a known issue with emitting light that can stop your remotes from working. I had a set top box that could not work if the tv was on. There are some home made fixes you can try but they didnt work for me.
In short, save your money. Still looking
