OK – Our Sony DVPNC66K is approaching 3 years old now and has been faultless in opperation with no problems experienced. We purchased this unit to replace an older model Sony 5 disk player and have been disappointed that the disk shuffle on the old model has not been continued. The old model had the capability of being loaded with 5 cd's (or music dvd's) and being set to shuffle between tracks on all cd's on a continuous random basis. This unit will not perform that function. It will shuffle the cd automatically to the next cd once the end of 1st cd is reached, but that is all. Takes away most of the reason I would purchase a 5 disk player, the previous model was perfect for partys etc.
Still a very good, trouble free player which I would have rated ats 5 star apart from the shuffle function. Has been a good reliable player. Not a true disk shuffle.
Good – Used as a home DVD player, handles regular and home made DVDs (but not exotic formats). Have not had any problems with it since purchasing, rarely gets stuck or freezes during a movie (unlike the DVD player we had before). It has two microphone jacks so two people can partake in the karaoke, and normal karaoke functions like speeding up and slowing down music and applause. However the louder you sing during karaoke, the more the system lowers the volume of the background music, I don’t understand why and can’t find a way to stop this. The five disk changer is good if you have a set of karaoke CDs. 5 disk capacity, DivX certified, inbuilt karaoke functions, two microphone jacks, plays burnt CD and DVDs In karaoke mode when it detects a voice singing, it turns down the volume of the background music, the louder you sing, the lower the music volume (but voice volume remains the same)
