A good TV, but not worth the price premium – We bought this TV a couple of years ago and it has served us quite well. It has a load of features and inputs which are great. The big downside to this TV is that the menus are very slow to respond, particularly when the TV is first turned on. On a basic model this would be OK, but one of the reasons we bought this particular model was that the… Read more

sales representative spouted the extra processing over the lower models - I would hate to think of how they are given how slow this one is!

Also, I have a media streaming setup and we have a lot of problems with streaming to the TV - it doesn't support a lot of formats and stutters a lot. Good screen and picture, Friendly Menus Expensive, Slow Menus, Poor Streaming Support

Sony not what they used to be – Sony does not automatically populate the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG). You have to open each channel for the EPG to be populated. Even my cheap Panasonic will have the EPG available as soon as you turn the TV on. Also if you are into photography the Sony will not display jpeg images that have been saved in Photoshop at a Jpeg Level of 7 or… Read more

higher. You need to save to Level 6 or lower. In both cases Sony have said that they have only had to achieve a minimum standard requirement and as the above 2 issues are above those requirements they (Sony) will not be trying to fix them with any future firmware upgrades. At the moment Sony seems to be always playing ctach-up with other companies, such as Samsung. Back in the 80s Sony always lead the way - not anymore. My next TV will not be a Sony. Picture is good and video streaming is good with Wi-Fi USB add-on

obsolete technology – with the cheap price comes with minimum specification. in the era of 1gb network speed, sony gives you the obsolete 10mb nic. Obviously i can see the system is struggling to run applications like youtube etc..., very slow, lots of waitiing... maybe choked by the small memory. (connected to my 10 mb fibre internet connection) can't play movie… Read more

files directly, you need to use DLNA media server...

can only watch youtube in 1/6 screen..

audio , is a joke..

OSD menu, not really smart, need to press at least 3 buttons to get the menu you want.

the remote cobtrol buttons, so tight, the navigation buttons circled by menu buttons, easily to press the wrong button.

not impress at all sony. picture quality everything, poor sound, slow internet, tiny youtube screen.

Digital TV elegant, stylish – I'm pretty happy overall with the Sony Bravia. The stylish black frame doesn't stick out in the lounge and the screen is just perfect for movies. The remote control is light and easy to use. Sensors are perfect for all directions you are positioned. Setting up can be abit daunting at first but the instructions are definitely for dummies. … Read more

Definitely recommend this brand. The style and elegance The colour tone. I understand it changes with what's on tv however it isn't as sharp as expected. Could be due to the size of the TV

Good TV – Love the quality of the picture and the colours. Like the new Smart Tv function, but the quality of playback is not that great sometimes on Seven's shows. Not high enough streaming quality. Hopefully that will change. Good for streaming movies on the new Quikflix service. Surfing the internet is cumbersome, as you have to type on the remote,… Read more

very slow going. Then if I try to watch catch up tv on there you can't as you can't download the software it requires.

The remote is user friendly. The swivel of the tv on it's stand is handy.

I have also found the EPG does not come up with what is on until you go into each channel. Just like my old tv which was a Toshiba.

I actually bought this Sony tv for the 3D capability after viewing it working instore. But found to buy the accessories were too expensive and I would need a 3D capable dvd player too. Forget that. Wish I'd bought the model that doesn't have 3D, would have been cheaper by about $600 or so. Good picture and smart tv capable 3D accessories too expensive to try

Above average picture – Purchased the 40" EX720 Bravia based on the good price I got on the day - would have been happy with Panasonic, Samsung or LG equivalents. The picture is very good, however there is a small amount of light bleed through near edge, and blacks are not as black as my Panasonic Neo plasma, but still very acceptable. I understand this is a feature of… Read more

"edge lit" LED panels, so I am not fussed as is barely noticable - mainly when watching Harry Potter or other "dark" movies. I have not played with contrast/brightness settings though, so this may be able to be improved. I like the vivid colours and sharp detail on the Sony, and the very thin profile is a plus for wall mounting etc. The design of the tv is very stylish and the remote is very good. I especially like the guide, the way it displays the selected chanel in top corner of screen allowing you to navigate through chanels while still watching selected channel. Overall I would recommend this tv based on picture quality alone, with a bonus being the excellent guide. I do not use any of the smart tv features, nor the 3d ability. The 3d glasses are very expensive though - I would look at the LG with the passive glasses if I was looking for that feature. 7 star energy efficiency, great picture, Sony reliability (I hope), excellent guide layout, easy setup, price Expensive 3d glasses (if you are not into this feature, is not a problem)

Brilliant - the best ever – Sony make great products, and this TV is brilliant. The Colour is very good. Black is black, no ghosting and lots of features. The 3D movies with the correct song glasses are very very good. Worth every cent and more. Reliable, Brilliant Colour and great Internet features.

Good picture quality – The 2D picture quality is stunning. very clear, colourful and smooth picture. It’s got a stereograph look even with 2D setting. If you have the picture setting on 'vivid', it gives you the live feel, it’s pretty impressive if you are watching documentary or TV show, I personally prefer 'standard' picture setting for watching movies. The TV… Read more

also select the scene automatically. This may make the picture looked a bit dull when you watch a movie, because the TV has selected the 'cinema' scene itself. You can disable this function by click on the 'scene' button on the remote and select 'general'.

This TV is not set up for wireless internet. You will need to purchase a USB Wi-Fi adapter / dongle separately to connect to your wireless router.

The 2D-3D conversion function is not that impressive. It doesn't have enough depth to give you a proper 3D feel and the 3D glasses is kind of heavy, it can be bit uncomfortable after you worn it for a while. Stunning 2D picture. Plenty of picture options and customize settings. 2D-3D conversion function doesn't give a proper 3D feel. 3D glasses is a bit too heavy.
