Sony Vaio VGN-SZ18GP

I love my baby Vaio – The machine is now 6 years old, and I've used it since mid 2010 to analyse data and write a PhD thesis. It's still quick and more so with an extra 512MB ram to make it up to 1Gb, robust (this one has a massive crack down the side from where its original owner dropped it), and reliable. The screen is pin-sharp, the colour still excellent. The only thing I don't like about it is that repeated dropping incidents have broken it and occasionally the cursor moves to somewhere random - I assume it is getting a false positive signal from the touchpad and responding in kind.

That aside - and that is hardly a manufacturing fault - it's brilliant. I'm now in the market for a new one - this was just a loan and I need something with more storage space - I am about to buy a new Vaio to replace it. Reliable, robust, quick, light No keypad
