Great pump – Purchased this pump pending the arrival of my third child, and it has been nothing but fabulous. It was exceptionally helpful prior to birth, as hand expressing colostrum proved difficult but this pump made it a lot easier. Maintaining my supply has not been an issue either. This pump is quiet in comparison to other pumps I have had for my older… Read more
children. The night light is a lovely feature. The multiple cycles and vacuum intensity options are also a fabulous feature. Customer service has also been very helpful, as the first pump to be delivered needed replacement which they sent out the morning after my husband requested it.
DO NOT BUY. The flanges warp in the steriliser and the company refuse to replace. Wish I read the 1 star comments prior to purchasing as I can see many people have this issue. Horrible customer service! They will not reply to my messages or emails!! has been over 2 weeks. I will never buy from this company again.
Great Pump – My midwife suggested this pump and I’m so glad I got it. It’s super easy to use and much cleaner to use then the manual pump I had been using! A great extra feature is the light on the pump, we will be using the night light for night time feeds and pumps. Show details

Would definitely recommend! – This pump is perfect. I am very comfortable using it. I love the vacuum and let down mode. I use it every third hourly. Spectra s2 is also very high in quality. The noise is very minimal. I love the lamp too. I don't have to open the lights anymore when I pump at midnight. I am also very satisfied with the amount of milk I get with every pump.… Read more
This is also hospital grade so it is more powerful and effective than many personal-use pumps. This added strength and better mimics my bub's natural stimulation. I love this pump and would definitely recommend it to mum's out there. A great value for money.
Great pump High quality and Love it – Very effective breast pump! Use it every day and very happy with it. It's very quiet, not noisy like the other brands. So I can pump while my bub sleeping. I purchased it on the website and ship so fast. Cause my bub doesn't go to the breast, I had to pump and feed her breastmilk in bottles. I will highly recommend it to friends. Show details

Good luck if you have trouble. No warranty within warranty period – I'll start by saying it is a good product when it is working but for the short time we had it, it developed a leak. I could hear a leak on one side and rang customer service. They gave me the line, 'you need to replace the valves and back flow protector often, that is the likely issue'. Given we had a dual pump we had two of everything (almost) so… Read more
we could confidently rule out the valves, swapping the good side with the bad made no difference. To eliminate the back flow protector completely we used the one side we knew worked and sure enough no leak. The hoses didn't have a leak either this is easy to check. You block one air line and then the other while the pump is running. That left the one shield. Introduce that and we could hear a leak. I was told that 'if it doesn't have a crack it is fine'. I was also told 'the sound is typical of the pump' when I sent a video. Yeh right. The side with the leak always produced less milk. We had big enough problems trying to supply the twins with enough milk but this was disgusting customer service. Sadly, Georgie let's what is a good product down with her incompetence.
Best on the narket – The Spectra breast pump is one of the top products I have purchased as a new mum. I initially had latch problems so I had to go straight into expressing - the Spectra pump was better than the hospital grade one I used in hospital. It was more powerful and expressed milk quicker. Pros Incredibly powerful - I can pump 150ml+ in under 10 minutes.… Read more · 1
Vibration option helps with instant let down.
Good range of pump power options.
Small nightlight for late night pumping convenience.
Nice sleek design.
Excellent customer service.
Very quiet and discreet.
Cons
For the price it would be good to add some accessories. E.g. spare nipple covers, a storage bag or case etc.
It would be amazing if it could be hands free. E.g. a bra of some sorts. I almost drop the bottles when I’ve dozed off in the night haha.
I don’t think the bottles are amazing quality. The flow is far too quick and there’s no cover or case for them when traveling. I always pour my milk into another bottle afterwards.
Overall a fantastic product. The number one breast pump to invest in.
Value for money, great for first time Mums – Switching from Medela Symphony, I have a mixed experience using Spectra S2. Reason for switching to Spectra was terribly sore painful breasts, I couldn’t tolerate even the lowest the suction, tried several brands nothing worked, gave Spectra a try, the gentle vibrative suction felt so much better than any other pump. Overall, it’s a decent pump,… Read more · 1
there is a learning curve, need to get used to it.
Pros:
Lowest price compared to popular hospital grade brands
2 year warranty on motor is really good for the price
Unique feature of this pump is the vibrative suction, which is totally customisable to ones tolerence.
The suction levels can be adjusted from 1-5 when on Massage mode (let down mode), and 1-12 on Expression mode.
Cycle can be adjusted only when in Experssion mode, this is not available on most popular pumps out there (e.g. Medela, Avent etc), while its fixed to 70 in when in Massage/let down mode.
Light weight, easy to carry, with a clear display and variable night light.
Flanges fit Avent bottles
Pump shuts down after 30 mins, its a safety feature
Able to get good volumes of milk, am pumping much longer than 30 mins though
Cons:
There is a learning curve, initially supply was really low, slowly got better as I got used to the pump (after 3 days of pumping)
Noiser compared to Medela Symphony, not the quietest pump as advertised, disappointing!
Spare parts are bit expensive than the popular brands and may not be in stock when you need it
,e.g. flanges doesn’t come in pairs, each costs $16, spare part (flange only) for the desired size (28 mm) was out of stock, forced to buy full set for $29
Flange is not detachable, is fixed with the lid, not compatible with most pumping bras that works well with other brands
S2 Power cord length is much shorter that most brands, limiting movement away from power outlet,
Same with tubing length, shorter than most, need to keep the pump really close and keep far away from baby’s pulls and kicks
Supplied bottles with the unit are very flimsy, keeps coming off the flanges, currently using Avent wide neck bottles instead, need to ensure bottles are tightly screwed every now and then, as it kept coming off 28 mm flange, really bad design, spilling milk everywhere, all hard work wasted!
Flanges won’t fit popular pumping bras, so had to get a new one, with wider openings to fit the flange.
Suction attachment (backflow protectors) that attaches to the flange is brittle, breaks easily, have to purchase and replace the whole set, better to keep a spare set.
Duckbil valve is not durable if sterilizing, it gets stretched with frequent use and needs to be replaced, costs $14 for a pair.
Overall, am happy using this pump as my main pump but have to constantly spend more $$$$ on spare parts to keep this pump functioning effectively.
Positive reviews
Very efficient pump! – I have been using it daily for around 6 to 8 times per day and can't fault it. I have been hearing great reviews so bought it for myself. Not the cheapest but it is great value for my buck. Been using it for nearly 5 months now and haven't encountered any issues yet. Although would love to have tried the s1 for portability, but still very happy with my purchase. Show details
Best pump around – This pump was amazing. I cut holes in a sports bra so I could pump hands free. Its quite, easy to use and made a massive difference to my supply. The battery life is pretty good but if you're pumping 3 hourly, like I was, it's best to keep it charging all the time. I cannot recommend it enough!! Show details
Absolutely Wonderful Breast Pump – I hired Medela hospital grade breast pump and used until baby is 4 months old. Then I start using Spectra. Comparing the two, Spectra is far more excellent in expressing milk in my case. I can almost empty my breast in each pumping within 30mins. I highly recommend Spectra to all new mum. It is more effective and worth investing in. Show details
Negative reviews
Bottle easily leaks. Pump is ok – The pump works well. It's not as strong as the other models I've tried. The main issue is the difficulty in maintaining a seal on the bottle. It's a fine line between over tightening the cap and not tightening it enough. This is an ongoing issue with all 4 bottles we purchased through Spectra. Show details

DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP – DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP! I previously used Spectra for first child, and had no problems with the pump . Figured I'd try again. After just 3 months using the pump I noticed I could hear liquid on the inside. I had assembled it correctly so had no clue of the problem. Mind you, I've never spilled anything on this pump. I realized it was sucking pack… Read more
of the milk into the machine. I contacted the company and they refused to give me a new machine saying it was water damage, not a manufacturing defect. Whats worst is my 3 year old spectra from my other child is not dead. Will never choose this pump again.
Pump is great, but common power issue still exists – I'll preface this by saying that the pump, when working, is absolutely fantastic. So mine's just started doing the exact same thing as what many of the other customer reviews are saying where their unit just randomly shuts off on its own. To be fair, we used this product with our first born without any issues for the first 8 months, and this… Read more
issue has only started occurring when we took the pump out of storage and started using it again for our second child. Unfortunately warranty has expired by 6 months now so I'm up that creek, but I thought I'd just leave this review here to let people know that this common problem (according to this review site) is still very much an issue with this pump so bear that risk in mind when making your purchase.

Disgusting customer service!!! – They stopped replying to my emails after advising my brand new duckvalves that were attached to my brand new breast shields are falling into the breast milk mid pumping sessions. [Name Removed] kept advising to replace the parts and wouldn't understand that they were the new parts! I ended up opening a Paypal dispute after [Name Removed] refused… Read more
to assist and she stopped replying! Paypal ended up giving me a Paypal voucher for the amount I was disputing otherwise I would've taken it further and created a case with the ACCC (will be putting a complaint through to Fair Trading regardless). I would never recommend this brand again and will be selling this machine to avoid purchasing any replacement parts from this company again. Blows my mind that there is still shocking customer service like this in Australia, in 2022!!
Waste of money – I bought this pump about 6 months ago after reading all the positive reviews on the Product Review website. This is the worst purchase I’ve done in my life. The pump is bulky, heavy and very loud and noisy. I’m not really sure if the reviews on here are all paid reviews as this product is far from what it has been described here. Show details
The Worst Customer Service… – Got s2 pump delivered 2 days ago and the same day contacted customer service for the return address . We are all very busy in this world but customer service is a very important part of a… Read more

Pump works well but very expensive to replace parts frequently – Pump is effective, however it isn’t clearly stated on the website when you purchase that if you pump a couple of times a day you should expect to replace the parts every couple of weeks. This knowledge was only shared once I emailed spectra after the new parts I spent $67 on stopped working after just one week. I was advised to expect to be… Read more
spending this every couple of weeks, which means the $299 pump is in fact $299 + $67 each 10 days of use (a couple of times a day). Buyer beware of this ongoing cost before purchasing.
Worst Customer Service – Beware buyer - overall this pump is good but if you have issues with any of the components then good luck trying to get a resolution. I just tried to change over my tubing to get better performance and noticed the tubing was different (it came with adaptor ends that I could not remove) When I contacted Spectra they indicated they had changed… Read more
suppliers and the tubing was made for a different pump (?!) They asked me to remove the tubing and continue use, or cut the tubing if having issues removing. I found this odd but went ahead and cut the tubing but the tubing material is more narrow now and really difficult to attach and whats more annoying, even more difficult to remove - which you need to after most sessions because the tubing attaches to the flanges which need to be removed and washed. I tried to explain this but Spectra customer service indicated there was no issue and then completely ignored my messages ... I have never exprerience such unprofessional customer service. Would not recommend.
Terrible customer service – Terrible company: avoid this company at all costs. pump became very weak and The battery life decreased under the guaranteed battery life. We were well within our consumer rights to get a warranty claim however this company ignored my messages and then blocked me. I have never dealt with a company like this my entire life. Parts discoloured and needed replacement after only 3-4months use. Not worth the price – Parts discoloured and needed replacement after only 3-4months use. Not worth the price. Contacted Spectra and they did not agree to replace any parts or even offer a discount given that the parts deteriorated so quickly after so few uses. Overall an average product that's overpriced and underwhelming customer service. Show details

Comfortable – I've tried two other breast pumps, including Medela Freestyle. However, Spectra is more comfortable and quieter. Although it's bit bulky and heavy, I don't move it around so it's fine. Show details
An absolute necessity! – I had previous used the Medela and rated that brand highly. The Spectra has completely blown me away. My milk supplied has increased massively and made my journey of feeding twins a breeze. The initial cost may make you question the purchase but if you can afford it, I really recommend you buy it. Highly recommended, excellent investment! – I had struggle increasing my milk supply since it is my first baby. This pump is really a big help. I am very happy with the amount of milk I am expressing and baby is always satisfied so I’d say my milk production increased. It’s also easy to clean. With the portability, I still have to experience it when I get back to work. Otherwise, very satisfied and very happy I purchased one. Getting it while on sale was a bonus! Show details
Great Investment! – What a fantastic pump to use. It works so well for me swell, its super comfortable and I like the changeable settings, the fact it has a light is amazing as well. Now I have gone back to work I use it 3-4 times a day and its so handy, relatively quite swell. I have previously had another brand of pump, which was good too, but I now get double the milk in half the time, quite fantastic!!!! Show details
Excellent investment! – I use this pump religiously whether it's at home or away on holiday. I've had it for 3.5 years now and it's still going strong, so it is definitely an excellent investment and worth every penny. 200ml on the overacheiving boob). Very quiet and comfortable to use either with single or double option. Highly recommend if you're looking at a good quality and long lasting pump.
Fantastic pump – I've used this pump with my first and now with my newborn. I love it, it's extremely efficient at expressing milk and I used it multiple times a day. I pump anywhere from 50-100mls per side twice per day as well as breastfeeding. It's super easy to clean and spectras have great resale value and it's safe to resell as it's a hospital grade pump. I highly recommend this pump, especially when the site has the click frenzy special. Show details
Excellent loved it thank you spectra – I had trouble B feeding and brought this pump after I left the hospital, I was so happy to use another hospital grade pump as some others did not produce the same amount of milk Show details
Absolutely love it! – This is so easy to use and I’m able to get 150 ml with 15 min every time. It is so gentle and doesn’t make lout noise like some of the other pumps. Show details
Quality Pump – This one came highly recommended. When you think of the amount of time you will spend pumping you may as well pay a bit extra to get a great quality pump like the Spectra S2. There's different vacuum suction levels that you can adjust for comfort. Just with 15 minutes pumping both sides I got about 50ml of milk. I think I will need to order a size… Read more
up for one breast as it's a little small, so I can probably get around 70 - 80ml for 15 minutes of pumping with the right cup size. It's very quiet. Will likely use once a day so I can get more sleep at night and husband can feed with the bottle.
Perfect – I used this pump everyday and the suction was amazing, I got double the amount of milk compared to my previous pump. Its definately worth the money and it didnt hurt which was a bonus! Show details
Great breast pump! Definitely worth the $ – Great breast pump, that I use daily, that’s easy to use and looks great. Easy to understand settings, is very quiet and the light is an added bonus-enough to see what I’m doing but dim enough to not disturb anyone when using at night. I found it very comfortable to use and got more milk expressed using this than another brand. Have recommended to many friends. Show details
