Sporasub Mystic

My Sporasub mask – I am so thankful that my girlfriend gave me a Sporasub Mystic mask as her gift to me on my birthday. Ever since, I've been using it and I love it! It has low in volume and fits in every faces. What's more nice about it is that because it has no lens rings, the visual field around the external perimeter of the lens increases. lens ring free

A Spearos dream: Every wish fulfilled! – I have been a Free-diver and spearo for thirty-two years. I have always sought a diving mask that was comfortable, had a low internal volume, great field of vision, and was durable as well. When I received my Mystic mask, I was very happy to confirm that it sealed well and fit my large, high cheek-bone face with no pressure points. I had heard that it could be uncomfortable for those whose faces had protruding brows and that it would leak if I had a mustache. I have both but did not encounter any of those problems.

I compared my visual field of view with my favorite S.C.U.B.A. mask, a Technisub Mythos, and was amazed to find that my horizontal and vertical field of vision was the same with the Mystic mask even though the lenses looked to be 30% smaller. The frame of the Mystic is tough and rigid with strong, easy to adjust buckles. The strap is strong enough to hold my snorkel tight against my head but it does not distort the seal at my face. The internal volume seems to be very low: it clears with a small puff of air and I encountered no mask squeeze until I was 20 meters down. The lenses don't interfere with my eyelashes(barely)and don't fog now that I scrubbed everything with toothpaste. A real bonus with this mask is the very soft silicone skirt: The mask is superbly comfortable to wear for hours at a time. The matte finish of the skirt looks great and does not reflect light like my other masks do!

Sporasub states that the lens frame can be disassembled if one wishes to insert prescription lenses: I will be ordering some as soon as I find out from Sporasub how to safely open the frame.

As with any mask, fit is the most important criteria for owning a particular product. The Mystic fits me well and has become the only mask I use underwater. Once positioned on my face properly, it sticks like glue!
