Still working after 10 years – Easy to use, works well. Has been abused for years and still runs. Was a low cost device, that really has been very useful. Harder to get the popcorn from the supermarket than to use Show details · 1
butter melter melted and became bendy – been using for 3 months with no problem, now the butter melter is melting and after each use it is squishy. I have not overfilled it and have never used the butter melter. Please note: if you see bubbles in the plastic, throw away the machine or contact the manufacturer immediately to avoid plastic digestion.
Popping good – My daughter loves popcorn! I was giving her microwave popcorn but was worried about all the butter. Now I just whip this machine out and we have a healthy snack in seconds. I was also impressed with the recipes in the back of the booklet. Easy to clean, quick and fun for the kids to watch too. Affordable, quick, healthy and easy to clean
Worst popcorn maker – Did not get to make one bowl of popcorn before it melted the top of the machine. Chamber is too narrow to allow popcorn to freely flow through. Even when I put a teaspoon of corn into the machine it still jammed and burnt. My children were very disappointed not to have popcorn on our movie night!
Not that good – This is the worst popcorn maker I have owned. While it sometimes works okay, there is an unacceptable level of burning due to the chamber being so narrow that the popped corn gets jammed. Not good enough to be on the market, especially for a brand like Sunbeam. Design over functionality. Price - but I got what I paid for! Not an acceptable product for the purpose. Burnt popcorn is not acceptable.
Very quick and pops just about all the corn – After reading the reviews on a variety of air popcorn makers I decided to go with this one. We all gathered around for the grand 'popping' first session and there were plenty of shrieks of laughter as the popcorn started flying out. We've had it now for a few weeks and have used it about 6 or so times. It is a little on the noisy side (think low… Read more
setting hair dryer level of noise), but you can easily stand next to it and still have a conversation.
There has been 1 occasion that I over filled the unit with too much popping corn, everything got very firmly wedged in the unit and a nasty smell started coming from it.
I quickly turned it off, let it cool and then prised all the popcorn out and threw that batch away.
Then I re-filled the maker with a smaller amount of popcorn and it worked perfectly with no hint of the nasty smell in evidence.
The popped corn does come out pretty energetically so be prepared with a big bowl to catch it, and occasionally there are a few un-popped bits left - but that's always the case with any type of popcorn.
I've used microwave popcorn, I've popped corn in a pan and now with the air popper - there is always some un-popped corn leftover.
Over all I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone considering which air popper to buy. Quick, light unit and very very easy to use Slightly noisy, but it's certainly not enough of a bad point to stop a sale
I Loooove Cornelius! – Popping corn used to be such a bore, messy and dangerous...but now that I have Cornelius its super easy, super safe and super healthy! Cornelius has become my new best friend. Ive been trying to lose some weight and air popped popcorn is a really great snack with few calories. There is a little tray on the top that will melt butter for you to… Read more
pour over your popcorn if you arent worried about your waistline (it does make it taste just amazing though!) air pops the corn - no oil required its a little bit noisy
Crazy Popping – Our popcorn making genius never fails to attract a crowd around the kitchen. With the little kids squealing with delight and laughing madly if a stray popcorn happens to pop out and about which happens almost every time. Its part of the exciting process of Cornelius and we love the way it is a challenge to capture the popcorn when it starts… Read more · 1
popping. A truly funfilled popping machine and the popcorn is airpopped with no oil added. You have the option to add butter if desired and the recipe booklet that comes with Cornelius has an assortment of delicious creative recipes. It takes a little longer to heat up in the cold weather but is worth the wait and adds to the excitement when it finally starts popping like crazy...... We love you Conrnelius <3 It pops like crazy! Sometimes some colnels are left in the chamber unpopped and are too hard to eat.
Love it – We have only had ours for a few months but it is great. All I need it to do is pop the kernels. It does spit out a few unpopped kernels but I guess that is expected. The only thing is that I have tried the Toffee Popcorn recipe from the book and now can't have it any other way. It wasn't expensive and does quite a bit of popcorn in a few minutes Does spit out a few unpopped kernels with the pooped ones.
Excellent trick for post-school snacks – We've had this machine for about 4 months now, and I find I use it on a weekly basis. I can get in the door after school, get it out of the cupboard in a second (it is small and light), pour the popcorn in, flick the switch and have it popping in moments. The kids love to watch it flooding the bowl with popcorn (I make them wear their swimming… Read more · 3
goggles for safety or fun) and you have afternoon tea done in a couple of minutes.
You really need to add some butter or oil or something for flavour - plain air-popped popcorn is very bland. Technically, you can melt butter on top of the Cornelius while it's popping, but I find it struggles to melt it in the short popping time. Easier to melt a couple of spoons of butter on the gas stove.
There's always some popcorn unpopped, but this seems to vary depending on the brand of popcorn used. Quick popcorn; small and light machine easy to get in and out; super simple to use; fun for kids to watch; inexpensive machine; inexpensive snack; healthy snack. Butter melter isn't faultless but not essential for me; small amounts of popcorn unpopped but not a big issue.
Better to have this "home made" popcorn – My daughter received this as a birthday present which was quite a novelty to her. We use it, not regularly but quite a few times. Special times like DVD watching or just looking for an afternoon snack on weekends. It comes with a container to melt butter in whilst popping the corn but doesn't melt the butter entirely and I haven't worked out a… Read more
way to really coat the popcorn evenly with the butter.
Occasionally shoots out hot unpopped corn which put a slight burn on my child who is now scared to stand close to it, but nothing major Produces a healthy snack and very very easy to use Unable to really produce "buttered" popcorn well. Children shouldn't be standing close incase of hot corn flying out
Excellent – I am very happy with the Cornelius Popcorn maker as it pops the corn kernels very well, leaving only a few unpopped (burnt) in the end of the operation. Even that it spins quite fast and a few popcorns go flying to the floor, it is a very good little machine. It could work a little bit quiter but the noisy it is not really too loud. I'm happy with… Read more · 1
it and recommend it. I would buy it again! It is great popcorn maker! It does the job very well every time. I have mine for over a year and make popcorn quite often.
It is easy to use and it doesn't get hot on the sides, only the top but that's expected! I don't personally use the butter melting lid but is a practical feature that most models on the market have. None up to date!
Good – a great snack machine easy enough for children to use, just be mindful it can become a little hot. definately glad we purchased this many years ago my kids favourite snack machine...easy and simple enough for them to use and little cleaning after use required. simply add the popping kernals to the machine and turn on the power switch after closing… Read more
the lid. there is a butter melting bit on the top, however we dont use this prefering to use our microwave. produces light and fresh popcorn time and time again often there are burtn pop corn kernals at the base when all the popping has stopped, can get a little warm around the edges when being used

Know better, choose better.
Excellent – After returning the competitors product as it did not pop the corn (!), this was a second choice because it wasn't as stylish. It has been a really good machine, working well and popping corn! It can be a bit tricky to get the last of the corn out when you're finished as the lid can get in the way. Have only used the butter melting function… Read more
once and that worked well.
Would not recommend this for children to use unsupervised as it can get very hot on the top. pops corn quickly and easily, no mess, good power plug with pull ring. always leaves about 10 kernels unpopped/burnt
Good – Its a simple product but does the job well. As i mentioned, it is really noisy but it only takes a couple of minutes to fill the popcorn bowl. Has a little bowl to place butter in which melts it as the popcorn is popping. However , it won't melt the whole lot if you put in too much. Easy to clean. Bought this as a birthday present for my popcorn… Read more
fan. Cooks popcorn well and easy to melt butter on small tray included. Very noisy but this may be expected as the cornkernals are thrown about. occasionly popcorn goes flying past the bowl.
