Great value for money! – Im new to the method of slow cookery. Recently purchased the Sunbeam Slow Cooker 4.0L from Coles on special for $22, RRP$65. Didnt want to waste to much money on an appliance that I may not like. Dont know why it has taken me so long to try a slow cooker but it was worth the wait. Delicious and tender food everytime. Easy to use. Removable crock insert that can go straight on the table for serving or in the fridge to keep leftovers. Would have loved a little light to indicate if it is on/off, otherwise you cannot tell unless you feel it or see the food bubbling away.

I'm still learning to use it – I am new to slow cooking. The instruction book says you can't overcook, but I have had most of the meals I cooked either overcooked on setting 1 or actually burnt on to the liner on setting 2. I have overcooked roast chicken and beef and corned beef and burnt casseroles. I would only set soup or a stew at breakfast and expect a nice meal at night, in fact even pea soup stuck to the liner.

I know it could be my inexperience, perhaps I am cooking the wrong dishes, but the ones in the book cover a wide variety. I know other cooks love their slow cooker and want to love mine, so any helpful suggestions would be warmly received by naomi@skymesh.com.au inexpensive, easy to clean, has great potential when I understand it overcooks or burns food, very heavy, no on/off light

2nd time perfect – I originally purchased a Lumina Slow Cooker and was so disappointed with the dried meals it cooked I tossed it away. Being apprehensive I took my time in buying another but eventually bought a Sunbeam Slow Cooker 4.OL- what a difference! Yummy, moist meals done to perfection every time. The size is great for the smaller family and also large enough to use when cooking for guests. Lives up to the reputation of what a slow cooker should be.

Have had better – Good size for a couple but heating element is on one side so casseroles stick and burn on this side. Then you have to scrub to get clean and white enamel is wearing off after only a few months use. Size, looks good. Cord unplugs Heating not even, enamel on crock insert wearing off.

It's a good little unit for the price, but I agree with Endee Mac. I put mine on in the morning with the aim to come home to a lovely stew at night. Generally - the meat is overcooked; even cuts like gravy beef and chuck are a little the worse for wear after 8 hours on the low setting.
