I loved it while it worked – I absolutely loved my slow cooker. It was so wonderful to just throw some veges and meat in the morning and come straight home from a busy day and dinner ready for the family. I had really only just started enjoying it and it just stopped working. We came home to a great big fat cold chicken and veges which were completely wasted. I have had the… Read more

Sunbeam slow cooker HP5500 – This slow cooker was a waste of money. I purchased the sunbeam slow cooker because of the brand expecting it to outlast the cheaper ones and it let me down after two years. It just suddenly stopped heating up, yet would still count down like there was nothing wrong. It was only used on average once a month and was very well looked after, never… Read more

dropped or wet. If I knew that it would be unreliable I would have just saved my money and brought a cheaper one to start off with. Nothing amazing, does the same job as any other slow cooker My slow cooker suddenly just stop working after 2.5yrs when I only used it on average once a month. I did not drop it or get it wet, just one day it stop warming up but the display continued to count down. Very disappointing considering the price. Would not buy another one!

Terrible – I wouldn't get it. Try Breville which is more trust-worthy or Kambrook which has a pretty good review too. recommended by many It's very flimsy, the knob started burning smoke out of it after one use. I had to return to Myer.

Terrible – Built in obsolescence is a waste of money and resources. What happened to electrical appliances that actually lasted? Sunbeam is now off my shopping list. I will not buy any more of their products and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. What I liked about it - it cooked well and made my life a great deal easier After less than TWO years, it's… Read more

died. That's right, folks, DIED. I came home last night after working all day and taking a child to soccer, expecting a chicken casserole all ready to eat and it hadn't cooked. The timer lights had done their thing so I'd thought it was going when I went out to work. Wrong. I had to throw out four chicken marylands and all the veggies because they'd been sitting there all day partially cooked after I browned them. Completely wasted and we had to turn about at twenty to eight and cook something else from scratch with tired, hungry kids. Sunbeam of course doesn't want to know about it. If a 12 month warranty shows a company's commitment to quality, then I'm the next pope. Which would be a neat trick since I'm a woman.

What every working mum needs during the winter months – I have the Sunbeam 4.5 litre slow cooker and I just can't live without it. I can chuck everything in first thing in the morning and by dinner time our feast is ready to be served with no more imput from me. Being a busy working single mum this really is a life saver, especially in the winter months when all we feel like is warm, hearty meals. Easy to use, reliable, time saving.

HP4500 is great – Best slow cooker we have ever owned. Cooks evenly and doesn't burn like others we have owned. Would recommend sunbeam slow cookers and would own another. Good size for our family of 4. Quality insert, easy to clean, cooks well

Good – I really like this product. I have never used a slow cooker before but I found that this one cooked a beautiful meal the first time I tried it. I have seen that later models have a keep warm function which would be really good for this one but I don't think it suffers too much without it. Overall, I think this is a great product and I am very… Read more

happy with it. Cooks really well.

Cleans easily.

Looks good, stainless steel finish is great.

Cooks a great roast as well as casseroles. Instructions could be a little clearer for a first time user.

Lack of keep warm function.

Not sure I can trust it. Will I come home and find it has decided not to slow cook – Just stopped working after two years. No warning. Displayed advised all well but did not heat up. Had to throw out some expensive food. Nothing in particular. Bought it so I could use the insert and lid from slow cooker that suddenly died.

Excellent – I previously bought a Breville which I returned as it boiled everything, but this one is great (the 5.5 litre). Does what you want it to do. Easy to use and good instructions / recipe book. Cooks meals at a genuine slow heat. I work so I wanted one that would not overcook while I was gone. Looks good too.

Good – An excellent product from an excellent brand. I recommend Retravision or The Good Guys - both back their products well and are eager to assist with any warranty/repair issues. Good – A slow cooker is a wonderful addition to a kitchen. This is easy to use, just put your ingredients into the dish in the morning, switch it on and when you come home for tea you have a hot-winter warming stew or casserole. It is also fabulous for making homemade soup, because when I make it on the stove I tend to forget about it and it sticks and… Read more

burns and then I have to discard it. But you can't burn anything in a slow cooker! It is fabulous also for doing roast meat in and it cooks really tender and also corned silverside. This sunbeam product is very durable and well made compared to some of the cheaper ones. I have been using mine for about 18 months and haven't had any problems with it. Nice design. Easy to use and to clean.

Excellent – We've used this slow cooker for about 2 years now and it's fantastic. We have cooked a variety of meals in it (roasts, casseroles, etc) and they have all come out wonderfully. Good – I bought the biggest of this model, after my russel hobbs, became too small! It is a good slow cooker, but i think the high setting is a bit too high! where the low, is half that?! it does its job well and truly without disappointment. If a recipe says 8 hrs on slow, don't assume your slow cooker has a human brain- check your food regularly 1-2 hrs before and it'll be just about done - and beautifully. The con is it doesn't have a brain.

Excellent – I have the 3.5L cooker and I think it is great for 2 people. I am glad I didn't get a bigger size. Cooks food very evenly and meat does not dry out. Excellent – If you want the most amazing roast lamb, place it in the slow cooker with some salt, pepper, garlic and a dash of olive oil and cook on low for 8 hours. You don't need to add any liquid. most is that the slow cooker doesn't heat up the kitchen like an oven does. The base is very easy to clean. I love this slow cooker. Easy to use, cleans brilliantly and makes the most amazing stews and roasts. I was quite shocked reading other reviews as I haven't experienced any problems other people had written about. I really love being able to cook large quantities. If you want to brown the meat you need to do it in another pan which equals more washing up. It also doesn't have a keep warm function that other slow cookers have.
