Sunbeam Slow JE9000

very bad juicer – worked for about 8 months only using once each fortnight, very hard to clean now motor stops every time something is put in unit, will be buying another brand as this unit is useless. I have had a very hard time cleaning it and I cut all fruit and veg into small pieces to help take load off the unit. Show details
Anoyed and frustrated – i had a slow juicer before that was wonderful and I used it every week. This juicer is not fit for the job. It is difficult to assemble. it doesn’t yield much juice from the fruit and leaves very wet pulp behind that makes it difficult to disassemble and clean the machine. The money you save on buying this will be wasted on extra fruit and veges to get any juice at all. the work it takes to get a little bit of juice is ridiculous. Show details
Good Customer Service – We use it daily because my wife and I are on a cleansing programme. The machine is very quiet and wouldn't wake my wife in the morning. Cleaning is a bit tedious, not to the fault of the machine though because the machine is meant to extract juice and leave the pulp behind. We've been very happy with it for three weeks until the Juicing Screw and… Read more
Filter got stuck by the hard seeds of fruits that I didn't remove before juicing. We have been happy with Pauline Wood and George of Customer Care when I reported for help. They replace the whole juicer for me in 3 weeks time. I strongly recommend people with fatty liver, diabetes or overweight to start juicing. Believe or not diabetes can be reversed!
Cannot get replacement parts – I wouldn't buy another sunbeam product, mu JE9000 is not 3 years old, the feed g screw is worn but not replaceable. Motor and everything else perfect, won't juice properly with worn screw, I am buying a different band, there's too much waste fruit and vegetables that it cannot process. Too much goodness and money being wasted. Very poor back up from Sunbeam! Show details
Good juicer, but spare parts replacement a shock – I have been using this juicer for nearly two years, with no problem. Unfortunately the filter basket cracked as a consequence the quality of juice is not good anymore. I tried to buy the spare part and I contacted you customer service. Customer service provided a supplier. I ordered it then the supplier sent me an email apologizing because they dont sell it anymore. Not impressed with your service!!! I will buy other brand no more sunbeam Show details
This is a shocker – I can't say if I'm happy with the juice produced by this machine. I don't know how loud it is nor what it's like to clean and maintain it. I cut up my apples ready for first use of the Sunbeam slow juicer (about 60 minutes after purchase from Myer, Southland Victoria). I followed the instructions so I washed the parts, put it together, plugged it… Read more
in and turned it on, flicked the switch and.... nothing! Zilch, zero, nought. Tried a few times but it was pronounced dead on arrival.
Packed it back in the box and drove back to Southland where Myer did not seem surprised to have yet another one of these Sunbeam JE9000 Slow Juicers returned for a refund. They offered me another new one, but I would rather spend the cash on buying juice at a shop. It's no wonder it was reduced to $134.00 but it's a model that has never been any good - according to most reviews on this website. It's actually a machine that has harmed Sunbeam's reputation as a brand that I used to think made quality products. Not a Sunbeam's chance in the Antarctic of ever buying this brand again.
Don't bother – My father and I each bought one of these juices for our house's. After two months both broke with the same issue. We returned to Myer and received two more. Within 10 uses between the two the same issue occurred. When you place the fruit/vegetable down the chute the motor stops. Third time around we exchanged for a Breville BJE410 - so far so good.
Poor Design – No good. Used it for about 2 years intermittently and then the auger stopped turning while motor was still running. Pulled the machine apart to find that there is a plastic gear inside that has stripped. Fixed by screwing a screw into the spline and it lasted another 1 month. Will see how easy it is to get parts
Happy customer – I have had this product for nearly 2 years and it beats another top-selling high-speed juicer I had before. I do go through seasons of use and non-use. I don't let the pulp sit in the juicer for too long. The unit takes a couple of minutes to clean up, mostly just rinsing with water. The filter needs a bit of scrubbing with the brush but even this… Read more · 1
doesn't take much effort.
The shoot for the pulp usually needs a bit of a clean out with a skewer (or the other end of the brush tool that comes with it) when you are doing veggies rather than fruit. I do avoid celery as this fibrous veggie does make it harder to clean and I am not that keen on celery anyway. Rhubarb is a complete no-no unless you want a near impossible jam-up from the fine fibres.
I don't think you could extract anymore juice than what you get with this machine. I haven't had any issues related to the quality or function of the unit. The blade is very difficult to remove if you try to do it immediately after juicing. I leave it and the filter until I have drunk my juice - by that time the vacuum (?) has released and I can wind it up out of the bowl.
To avoid problems, follow the manufacturer's instructions, recognise its limitations and I don't think you can go far wrong with this product.
Totally crap product dont bother – We just bought this and tried to juice for the first time with apples and carrots and cut them up and it got stuck so badly that we cant even remove the filter and blade to clean it before we return it to myer. It is so useless and soooo hard to clean as bits get caught in luttle slots. Dont bother complete wasre of time

Happy Juicer – I am happy with my juicing experience. The resulting juice was of good quality and the pulp was fairly dry. The machine performed well without baulking. It was very easy to clean compared to our centrifigal juicer. I do not expect it to perform like a hammer mill, I split the carrots. I am looking forward to trying wheat grass.
Frustrated! – Purchased this juicer on the recommendation from the salesperson at The Good Guys. Have made about 15 juices and today went to make a juice and it stops as soon as anything goes down the shoot. Tried berries and same thing happened. After about 10 minutes of trying I gave up. Taking this back tomorrow and will not be accepting a replacement. Totally disappointed in this product.
Had 3 in one month – Would have to be my worst purchase ever. The first week it works well but beyond that it is next to useless . Itt wouldn't even juice cucumber, and everything gets stuck, constantly putting in reverse and then jams, and yes the pieces were cut to a small size and no i did not overload it. After trying 3 of the replacement units I gave up. I suspect it has a design fault possibly the motor is not powerful enough for the size of the unit.

Not worth it – I bought a different cold press slow juicer for myself which works brilliantly, but decided to buy this Sunbeam one for someone else just for something different. Well, the difference is h.u.g.e. This Sunbeam worked great for red and green apples, but constantly gets carrots stuck (even when feeding slowly). It also had too much juice wasted in… Read more
the pulp it pushed out, and collects too much mushy pulp around the auger. Overall, the amount of juice it give out is less. Yet the box and other publicity material claims it extracts maximum juice....compared to what? a hammer? So not true.
The worst thing is once something gets stuck, the reverse function doesn't help much. Sometimes it goes in reverse but when you go forward again, it either gets stuck again or the motor groans heavily to push the bits through. To clean it when stuck (if reverse doesn't work) it's an absolute pain to get the central red strainer free. You have to painstakingly soak it and hold it under running water to get the stuck bits out.
I'll give it one more shot tomorrow, and if it's the same thing, it's going back. If they are not willing to take it back, then this will most definitely be my last Sunbeam purchase ever.
**update ** The ladies at the Good Guys store insisted that they had to test it. So I left it there and came back with a bag of fresh carrots (thin ones, no more than 20-25mm dia). Well, not even 20% of a carrot later it jammed. Same thing about the reverse function as described earlier.
The store and Sunbeam were pretty good about the return of it. So no complaints....only thanks for that.
So as long as you don't want carrot juice, you can try it. Maybe ask if they have a tester or if you can test it in the store??
I am not pleased – I juiced mulberrys.tomatoes with success ,Today I tried carrots cut up .The machine seemed to be laboring so I put it in reverse with no result. It stopped. Then I spent at least 2 hours washing out bits of carrots .On a retry no action at all It is still under warranty ,Its going back to the store .,Though why they should have to deal with the problem amazes me It should be sumbeams responsibility
Very Happy - Good Product – I've titled my review with Good Product as I have only used this juicer. I found out very quickly that you need to not overload the Juicer with large items, I cut my Kale and Beetroots to easily drop down the shute to be pressed. Very easy to put together and simple to clean after use. Most of the times its just a quick rinse other than the Metal… Read more
Juicing guard (not sure of item name) which I clean quickly with the brush provided. Some items like Ginger have stopped the Juicing screw from turning but a quick click of the reverse button and the problem is fixed. Best thing is I can create a juice first thing in the morning, clean the machine in a couple of minutes and then I'm off cycling.
Very disappointed – I purchased this juicer and was very impressed the first time I used it. I made vegetable juices about every second day making sure I cut up the vegetables quite small just in case!! After 4 weeks and in the middle of juicing, it was making terrible grinding noises from inside the motor area. I took it back to The Good Guys, refusing a… Read more
replacement and got a refund. Would not recommend this to anyone as the pulp gets caught in the mesh and is very hard to clean, also the the juice tends to build up in the base of the jug to the point I had to tilt it so it flowed out of the outlet tube and not the pulp tube. Due to a poor design, It is a pain to clean and creates a mess when cleaning the pulp out of the sections.
With the poor pulp outlet shape, the pulp gets stuck when the juicing is finished and the remainder has to be dug out to clear it.
Really annoyed – First time we bought this juicer it was great! 2 weeks later we went to use it and it didn't even turn on. We took it back to the place where we bought it and had the juicer replaced with the same model. Again it worked great however after months of not using it, we decided to make a juice and once again it didn't even turn on. What is wrong with this juicer? So disappointed! Doesn't turn on after a short period of having the product.
Great! – Got this as a birthday present and it gives out a lot of juice! You can juice fruit and vegetables! The 2 things that aren't so good are 1) It is a bit noisy and 2) the outlet hole for the pulp gets a bit blocked and is a little tricky sometimes to clean. The amount of juice! A bit noisy.
Price matters – This Sunbeam slow juicer's price is significantly cheaper than others, hence we thought probably worth a try. Ended up, it's not a very impressive piece of equipment and we spent a lot of time cutting fruits and veggies into very small bits, reversing items stuck in it, and spent a long time cleaning it. The extraction isn't as powerful as we… Read more
would have thought, apart from hard food getting stuck in it all the time (we used the reverse function for 3 times in 15 mins) albeit the food were already in small pieces, the pulp were still really wet and had to put into the feeder again to re-extract it.
Also it has band of foam on the top as the juice comes out which isn't something normal for slow/cold juicer but frequently seen in centrifugal juicers. And after just one session of juicing, the motor doesn't seem to cope very well and it heats up terribly.
We are going to return this juicer and exchange for another cold-pressed juicer, which will probably cost more but you get what you paid for, in terms of quality and convenience. Easy to assemble; Compact-size compared to centrifugal juicers Weak extraction and motor; Difficult to clean
Stopped working – I was happy with the juicers performance until it decided to stop working on the seventh time I used it. I did nothing different, used the same fruits and vegetables, cut them small and followed the instruction manual regarding the usage time. It seems that the motor is failing and is now lacking power, it is struggling to juice a… Read more
strawberry and simply fails and stops when I try a small piece of apple or carrot.
I will be returning the unit to Harvey Norman tomorrow. Compact Used 7 times and stopped working, seems like mechanical problems

Wrong purchase – I bought the Sunbeam JE9000 on 28/12based on the raving recommendation of Harvey Norman Sales assistant. It is definitely not a good machine as what he recommended. The fruits and vegetables even though it was cut into small pieces will get stuck as the pulp outlet is too small. I am not happy with this product!
Hi Jin, we have received your email and we will be in touch to discuss further.

Painfully Slow – I purchased this juicer because of the raving reviews of the sales assistant... I'm certain she didn't honestly own one, as it did not do one thing she said it would. It was impossible to clean, it couldn't handle fruit and vegetables unless they were cut into tiny pieces and it did not produce more juice than the other juicers, quite often it… Read more
would stop and the only way to keep it going was reverse and then start again. The excess pulp ended up in the juice.
I have replaced it with a Philips Quickclean Juicer that works faster, just as quiet, more juice and easy to clean.
Sunbeam JE9000 - Excellent – We bought this Sunbeam Jiucer last week and have used it every day since. It is quiet, and produces the best fruit and vegetable juices we have ever tasted. You have to start with the soft fruits/veggies first up and then proceed to the harder stuff later. This is all covered in the user manual which is full of great tips and recipes. The unit… Read more
breaks down very easily once you are finnished your juicing session for a very easy clean up. 10/10 from us. great produce/juice, quiet and easy clean up.
not happy – bought this juicer which replaced an old panasonic juicer that just wouldnt die, very dissappointed with it, failed within a week, have only used it about 5-6 times max. It just wont juice, sounds like the shaft that drives the thing has had it, the motor is still running but wont take any load, carrotts cut into quaters it cant handle! very… Read more
dissappointed. when it did work it wasnt to bad, although clogged up very easily. When i saw the demo of this unit being run it actually clogged up and the "popped" the lid and stopped working. it took the a while to clean the whole thing out and start again, i should have seen that as a sign i suppose! looked alright dosnt work

Returning to store! – Bought this frustrating juicer 2 days ago, when I finally put it together the pulp kept clogging it up and pausing it. The first juice i made I didnt use the strainer so it full of fibres. The second juice I used the strainer and it hardly strained. Made the same juice on a centrifugal juice and got more juice. Dont get me started on cleaning.… Read more
its virtually impossible. I have owned many juicers, and I juice daily I have never used a juicer as bad as this.

Doesn't work! – Bought this juicer today and after juicing a couple of chopped up apples and some blueberries through it, it stopped working. It still turns on but does not seem to have enough power to juice anything. I have tried finding info on Sunbeams website and google to help resolve this problem but there is no info that relates to this problem. Extremely disappointed Sunbeam! Doesn't work!

Good slow juicer at reasonable price – Purchased the Sunbeam slow juicer JE9000 from Harvey Norman at $199 last month to replace the old Sunbeam juicer of more than 8 years old. Been using it everyday for fruit/vegetable juice including beetroot. Very happy with the product, more juice and less noise than the conventional centrifugal juicer on the market.
