Sunbeam Juice Drop JE4800

great for small household and price – last year i bought an extra replacement as once you broke the spout or the steel sieve, you had to buy a whole new unit. i am glad i did as again i broke the spout again and was relieved that i had another readily available. it has been 2 weeks since i first used and i noticed 2 improvements with the newer model: - the vegetable stains no longer… Read more
appear (big improvement)
- spout is slightly longer (juices no longer spill)
sunbeam, can you possible sell spare parts for this model as if one part gets damaged, you end up tossing the rest of the perfectly working machine away, terrible for landfill!
Broke on second use. Not happy! – Received as a gift for Christmas. Used it for the second time this morning. First carrot through broke a big chunk out of the collar of the plastic top, right at the bottom where it's needed to hold in the fruit/veg. Sunbeam refused to replace the part, I was told "This model has been in production since 2009" Seeme to work OK, but couldn't really tell with just one use. Too many bits to clean, but that's a problem for all juicers.
its good for juices – It does the jourchased a $1000 vitamix & while the vitamix makes great smoothies and soup and icecream it cant make liquid from juicing it ends up a puree, and thick. so I stick to my sunbeam for juicing, but cleaning up is annoying, all parts need to be cleaned, but juice tastes the best in this. The vegetables and fruit comes out into juice like… Read more
a liquid, tastes the best in this juicer. unlike other blenders this is the best for juicing The cleaning, have to clean each part
Have given up using - spillage from spout too frustrating – I have given up using my Juice Drop as the frustration of having the juice go everywhere except in the container is too much. I have used many juicers over the years, and thought that the compact size of the Juice Drop would be perfect for our lifestyle of RV travel. We have tried everything - either a design fault - or as nobody else has… Read more
mentioned this issue, perhaps a specific fault with our machine. I have had it about 2 1/2 years and only had about 10 uses, with each time, accompanying threats to throw it out the window. So disappointed. Apart from the spout, everything else works well. Compact and inexpensive. The efficacy of the spout.
Good for the price – This has been a great juicer and I was guided by price, which was about $70.00, as I didn't want to spend hundreds. I have found the white plastic casing becomes discoloured, especially by things like carrot juice, and a good trick is to soak it from time to time in warm water with one of those laundry pre-wash products used for stain removal.. minimal amount of components to clean. The perforated metal juicing component is a little hard to remove.
Juice drop – We've had same issues. After 2 or 3 months of occasional use a burnt out electrical smell started, very intense you could not drink the juice. We had lost the receipt so myer (where we purchased) swapped it for us which was heaps good (great customer service), down side was they couldn't issue a new receipt for us in case the same problem… Read more
occurred. The second juicer had the same issue, but straight away from first use. I suggest to sunbeam they recall this product. It's poorly designed and potenical hazard.
Short spout , couldn't fit a glass under. Electrical problems. Should be recalled
Great little juicer – I also read Choice, then this site and despite the dire warnings here, bought my Juice Drop from Myer for $65 on sale. I've had it just over a month now and use it almost every day to make a juice from carrot, celery, beet root, apple, orange, raw ginger root and raw turmeric root. It is EXCELLENT. I don't have any real problems cleaning it,… Read more
but acknowledge that near the spout I've had to use a cotton bud and will soon buy a tiny spiral brush to do the job more thoroughly. The thing comes apart, washes easily, and goes back together no issues and I have to do this in the morning before going to work. I've also had to find a plastic container to fit under the short spout. Can't say for sure if this may be the 'burning out' problem others have reported, but I did notice that the lid had a latch that, if not positioned exactly, makes it stop working. Mine just didn't start at all when I first bought it, so I took it apart again and had a closer look and noticed a small lug which presses down on a spring loaded switch under the lid. After fiddling with it, it started working just fine. I also noticed it would stop in the middle of juicing occasionally, but I think this may be due either to a sensitive load sensor (I was pressing a bit hard on some hard beetroot) or that the lid up had lifted slightly moving the switch lug out of place. Either way, after repositioning, it always restarts and the juice is lovely, the pulp quite dry. For me, for the money, these little quirks are not an issue. Hope this helps. Cheap, great juice, quick to clean. Fiddly switch, but if this is for safety then acceptable.
Very Bad Juicer appliance – This is one of the worst Juicer I ever purchased. This product sparked the first time within 20 odd use. then we exchanged it and got the new one (same) and it started sparking again. When we contacted sunbeam in auckland - the customer service was even worse. This product caused safety issue for us and I would request the company that it should… Read more
recall this faulty appliance. It sparked and is unfit to use. We have tested it twice . The appliance heats up very fast and you can see sparks from the body. Also terrible burning smell. I think it is a cheap product and overpriced. Not to mention the bad customer service people at Sunbeam auckland. Instead of dealing with them we went and returned aging the product to the stockist Briscoes. I would totally recommend not to buy it.
This is unfit for any home as there is a sparking issue with it.

Works well but a bit fragile – Whilst this juicer seems to work quite well, it's difficult to clean due to the various nooks and crannies throughout the various parts of the unit. I pulled the spout out of the body to try and access the surrounding area. That was a mistake! It would appear that either the spout or the part of the body into which it connects, are rather… Read more
fragile. The spout now no longer clicks back into the body, but I can't tell if it's the spout or the receptacle on the body that's at fault. I queried Sunbeam about a warranty replacement part, and a bit of toing and froing, they're sending a replacement spout. So their customer service does actually seem pretty good. It actually juices very well - especially for the price. Too fragile, don't pull it apart to clean it.
Stopped working after being used a dozen times – I'm unsurprised to see other reviews here stating that theirs died after only a few uses! I was foolish enough to pay $100 for mine. Target wouldn't take it back because it malfunctioned just outside of the 12 months warranty (I had my receipt). I found this to be a pain to keep clean. I wish I'd read the reviews here before I purchased! $100 / 12 uses = $8.30 per use. Outrageous. A nice money earner for Sunbeam, I'm sure.
Spout could be a hit longer, but overall a good product – Lost part of my juice the first time I used this after the cup that I used didn't fit under the spout properly. Now I use a flexible plastic take away container pressed up against the machine so as to ensure none of the precious juice escapes onto the conter! Happy with the product for the price that I paid (got it on special at Myer for about… Read more
$40). Easy to operate and clean. Easy to use, easy to clean Would be better if the spout was a bit longer
Juice Drop Burnout – my kids bought a Juice Drop for a Mothers Day present in May - after a couple of months of occasional light use, it started to produce a strong, electrical burning smell. Seems like exactly the same problem kemafrega had. Unfortunately, we didn't keep the receipt, so Sunbeam won't do anything for us. Pretty bad when an electrical product burns out… Read more
after three months. OK for light juicing. Unreliable, poor quality, possible fire/burn hazard. Sunbeam won't stand by product without receipt - they obviously know it won't last long.

Great when it works – I purchased this based on Choice's rating. Yes it's a great little juicer but it only worked for 3 weeks (twice a day, every day) before the motor burnt out, despite only using light loads - ie fruits and vegies listed in the user manual. But I loved it so much, I replaced it with exactly the same model and the same thing happened to the second… Read more
machine (purchased from a completely different store) approx 3 weeks later as well. Sunbeam "Customer Service" didn't seem too concerned - just said take it back for a refund both times. No more Sunbeam Juice Drops for me. Replaced it with another brand and couldn't be happier. Shame since it's great when it works and is nice and compact, easy to store away when not in use, very reasonably priced and easy to clean. Just not built to last very long and Sunbeam don't really seem to care. Don't waste your money on the Juice Drop. Compact, easy to clean, cheap Expected it to last longer than 3 weeks

Okay but too small to be practical – This juicer does the job but I found it to be too small to be practical. After 500ml's of juice the waste bin is full and the waste feed chute backs up causing the cutting disc to bog down. The juicer is easy to assemble and disassemble and has a very small foot print. Feed chute is small requiring cutting of fruit and veg before juicing, with… Read more
the exception of carrot & celery.
The juicer did not come with a cleaning brush which you will need to clean the cutting disc and basket.
The juicer did not come with a jug. Juice leaks if you bump your glass or jug while juicing as the spout is small.
Price is good Small footprint. Price is good. Too small. hard to clean. No brush. leaks easily.
Product & Usage – Fabulous compact design, fits in my very small kitchen I have a small bench in my studio apartment in Melbourne. I love it. It is a tiny machine, with a very powerful 450 watt motor. It juices more that the old Breville which was twice the size ! You get 3 glases of juice before you empty the pulp container. It is simply amazing what it does… Read more
and looks great out the bench. I really recommend this to single people, couple or a family of 4 You could make 20 juices of course, you just need to empty the pulp container after 3 or maybe 4 glasses of juice. Highly recommended ! It also makes Ice slurpees !! PS It is very easy to clean. Just rinse. Size, looks, power, quiteness, easy to clean
Terrible – I have the big Breville Juice Fountain at home. It's excellent, I really realise how good it is after this experienc. With it, you get a really good brush and a jug to collect the juice. It's all dishwasher safe. The $90 odd on the Sunbeam Juice Drop has been a waste as it sits there unable to be cleaned. Better to spend a bit more and get the… Read more
Breville knowing you'll get a first class product. I wish they made a mini-one which could be carried for travelling but after this experience, I think I will just buy shop juices when I'm away. I see why the Sunbeam was all that was left in two stores after Christmas. Word must have gotten around. Try to avoid it is my advice. Small size appealed for travelling. Very bad design. The spout is a strange shape but is detachable and can be cleaned with a bit of a struggle. The part of the cradle above the spout right behind the brand name is so narrow, it's impossible to clean. It gets filthy. Even soaking hasn't helped. I spent days looking for a brush small enough, eventually found one in a baby shop but haven't tried it yet. No thought of the customer in this. Also with Sunbeam. I wrote to them by their website. It says they will contact within 24 hrs. It's been 2 or 3 days and nothing. Also, washable parts are not dishwasher safe. No jug or plastic cup to collect the juice - the bare minimum and even that's pretty ordinary.
I cant believe you cant clean it. Do you have a tap, sing and a cloth or are you living in the desert with no water ? Wierdo !
Amazing little machine – I bought this juicer because it was rated equal number one by "Choice" magazine. It is an update for me, and I hummed and hawed because the chute size is smaller than the other top rated machine. I am so glad I chose this one as it is very small, and very quiet. It seems to produce twice as much juice as my previous juicer, from the same amount of… Read more
fruit so will pay for itself in no time. I found it very easy to clean, and the spout clips on and off so I can very easily get right into it with a cloth or small brush. Excellent value for money and works really well.
Perfect for 2 people – We use our Sunbeam Juice Drop every morning. It is the perfect size for 2 or 3 people. For more juice it probably would need to be emptied and the process begun again - which is easily possible. It is compact and was very reasonably priced. ( it was the smallest and cheapest I could find). Like all juice extractors the cleaning is the hardest… Read more · 2
part. But even that is not too fiddly.. It has 5 components to be taken apart and rinsed after each use. It is advised that the components are not put in a dish washer. The juice! I like that it is compact and reasonably priced. Not suitable for making large amount of juice.
