Apart from the above issue, I have found this juicer to be very sturdy and reliable. It has lasted out family well over 10 years, with no other problems!

Good but now broken – I have liked this juicer for the past few years - tho it does not juice leaves well - they get caught and stuck midstream blocking the whole process. Terrible – Shortly after the warranty expired the collar locking mechanism broke. Sunbeam failed to provide spare part. It is not good customer service and reflects the company's attitude. bad customer service no replacement part available

Terrible – I have just ordered another brand of juice extractor as this problem makes using the equipment an unnecessary irritation. I cannot recommend it to anyone due to this overwhelming shortcoming. It juices most fruit and veges that i have attempted and they taste fine. A builder working nearby recently managed, with some difficulty, to unscrew the cover and commented that he does this for his friends in whose house he lives. They have the same problem, so mine is not an isolated incident. He was already aware that it actually turns in the opposite direction to i would suspect imperial standards. It is also difficult to clean.

Sad Sunbeam throw away world! – I have had exactly the same problems as the previous two people. I have to ask a neightbour to pull the juicer body apart for cleaning all the time. sometimes you need to reverse them briefly. One BIG plus of this juicer is that its VERY quiet.

Centrifugal juicers by comparison are fast but they are VERY noisy. Centrifugal juicers will always process what you put in them but sometimes that means that they just chew it up and spit it into the waste container.

I have talked a lot about the pro's and con's of different designs but back to the Sunbeam juicer. Its been reliable, robust and quiet. I expect it to keep on juicing for many years yet. Produces high quality juice (you can taste the difference compared to a centrifugal juicer), really quiet. This style of juicer can be a little fussy to operate compared to a centrifugal juicer and they are a little slow.
