The First Years Simple & Secure

Excellent – Excellent! This gate is the best I have found for peace of mind when it comes to stair safety. We found it particualarly useful when our son transferred from the cot to a bed - I slept soundly. This is a fantastic gate! It is excellent for the top or bottom of stairs. It is extremely strong and the opening mechanism, whilst quite easy for adults, is very difficult for young ones...my boy is 2yrs 2 months and still hasn't mastered it. The wall mounting makes it very secure and the ability to adjust the width by screwing together is a lot safer than adding extensions. That I just can't find another one for the bottom of the stairs

Excellent – This gate is of great quality and our only issue is that we have not been able to find another one for the bottom of the stairs. It performed well when our son went to a bed from the cot as we knew he would be safe in his room (he was well past 3 by the time that he could open it when he was tired). Wish I could find another one! Would recommend to anyone. Hard mounted, so great for stairs (top or bottom). The mechanism is sound and took our boy until around 2.5 years to figure out, by which time he could negotiate the stairs safely. Sturdy with good quality hinges and extension mechanism.
