Don't do it!!! – I blame myself for not checking the warranty period on tommy swiss mattress' - 1 year. Is this an indication of the quality of tommy swiss mattress'? Most mattress manufacturers offer 10 year -25 year warranties. The tommy swiss mattress as purchased has proven not to be useable beyond 3 years. After 3 years the springs can be felt… Read more
through the outer covering on both sides of the mattress.
The outer covering has not worn well and has compressed to such thinness that the springs can be firmy felt, not conducive to a good nights rest.
The mattress also markedly sags into the middle - a little like trying to sleep in a hammock.
The tommy swiss mattress has been regularly turned and now after just 3 years has reached the stage where it needs to be replaced - proving to be not very durable.
In-depth reviews
In Love with this matress – Firstly, I am reviewing a Tommy Swiss mattress. Not a Tommy Swiss bed/frame. A lot of bad reviews for the bed/frames here. Why? These reviews are supposed to be about their mattresses not their beds! Misleading reviews for people buying the mattresses. Used the mattress for 2 weeks now. Normally I don't have spare time to review products… Read more
but since I have had the best 2 weeks sleep ever, I shall make time.
I brought the MH-3 31cm. 31cm since a lot of bad reviews about the size being 3cm+ short of advertised. Must admit it measured 30cm from the end. Maybe 31cm in the middle. I figured From the bad reviews I'll get a 28cm or less mattress. Now if anything the mattress is too fat. Going have to get a bigger duvet.
Maybe the Natural latex and memory foam top is preventing sag. I am 95kg and finding it hard to imagine this mattress sagging after months, even years, but I will return with a negative review if this happens. Doubt I will.
So far this mattress has been one of the best purchase/bargain I have ever made.
Almost a perfect bed considering the price – For those interested the mattress I purchased was model M209D 'Double Mattress Pocket Spring with Latex (Oxford Collection)' with a firmness rating of 5/10. Firstly, I would like to say this is a great mattress for the price! It is in no way a bad one, however, it isn't perfect. First the positives. The mattress is comfortable, you can… Read more
wiggle around, toss, turn and throw a fit with minimal disturbance to your partner. I found the 5/10 firmness rating perfect, it wasn't too hard or too soft and feels great for me as a side sleeper. My partner on the other hand is a back sleeper, and very... fussy when it comes to her comforts, but even she thought it provided good support.
I can't think of too much else to say about this mattress. It's comfortable and thats all I can ask for when I want good nights sleep. There are however a few issues I have, which almost feel unfair to mention, but I wanted to provide as much of my experiences as possible to those thinking of purchasing a Tommy Swiss mattress.
Let's get into the negatives.
This mattress was advertised as a euro top, which it isn't. I wouldn't call out Tommy Swiss as being deceptive in their description as they do clarify this is purely a 'cosmetic' euro top in the full description section. Although I could see how this might cause disappointment for some because the first thing you will read about this mattress under the title section is:
"Featured with StromTech pocket springs, EURO TOP, latex layer and Belgian knitted fabric"
So first impressions of the bed would be that it is a euro top, BUT you must read the full description section at the bottom of the page!!
Also, the foam padding and latex layer is roughly only a few cm thick on inspection and does not make up the full 10cm of the euro top. It's not a deal breaker, but for those who want extra padding should look into a mattress topper.
EDIT: Started to feel springs under the padding so I have since added a 4.5cm thick latex topper and a 4cm thick mattress pad that has increased the comfort and support tenfold.
Additionally, the mattress doesn't provide any edge support (no foam or padding around the outside of the mattress) and doesn't provide much support if you like to roll over and sleep with an arm hanging over the edge. I also noticed that because of this the springs will 'clunk' and make 'popping' sounds when compressed since they have no barrier around the sides.
Despite my criticism I still believe this is a good mattress. All my negative points and observations are most likely the result of cutting costs, and would explain why these mattresses can be purchased at such a low price. I would suggest you keep in mind that it is not a true Euro Top, has minimal foam/latex padding, and has no padding around the edges for support. To be as blunt as possible, I will say that upon my first impressions of sleeping on this mattress I thought to myself, 'It's comfortable, but you can tell its cheap'. I see this mattress being fantastic for the time it lasts, which will probably be for 2 years or so. However, in my opinion the life could be extended by taking extra care and adding a mattress protector and purchasing additional padding.
Excellent Memory foam Pocket Spring Mattresses – Tommy Swiss mattresses have improved greatly from 3 to 4 years ago, Although the latex and memory foam layers are each only 2 or 3cm thick they make an amazing difference to the level of comfort: Memory Foam brings that level of comfort plushness to the top (ie. more expensive mattresses). Latex ensures you cannot feel the springs & is… Read more
under the Memory Foam (Latex is known to retain heat & can make the mattress feel hot if close to the body). No Latex = harder.
Stromberg pocket springs (previously NeroTech and another cheap softer version) with a 5 zone support (head/shoulders/ab/hip/knee) stops sagging in the centre of the mattress.
We've several TS mattresses which are as new after 3 to 4 years:
1) Ashton M10Q $199 which is latex, quite soft (hardness 4/10), soft pocket springs we love it. Better than our Sleepmaker Miracoil at 1/4 the price.
2) 205Q in the caravan, firm (rated hardness 5.5/10) which was too hard before we purchased an 8cm Gel Memory Foam topper which we now love.
3) Grand Snoozer M210Q with Latex and Sports foam & it is very firm (rated hardness 6/10) provides great support ... our friends love it.

So comfy, neatly packaged! – This is a very comfortable mattress. Had my doubts as it arrived wrapped up in a rectangle box. But it is very comfortable. I have recommended the mattress to my family and they have also purchased it. When opening the box though, it does startle you when the mattress pops open to its full size. But other than that it was a perfect investment. Show details
Excellent Bed Fast Delivery – Bed is amazing! Delivered fast & easily assembled. So happy and I can't believe the quality for the price. Thank you Tommy Swiss, I will be recommending you to my friends! Show details
Great mattress at a value price! – I've had this bed for over a week now and it's very comfortable - I honestly cannot tell what the difference is in comparison to the more expensive mattresses that are double or triple the price. Before the purchase, I visited a number of mattress stores extensively including Snooze, David Jones, Forty Winks and others, and it was very confusing.… Read more
I figured that if you don't value durability as much, then a mattress at a value price is the way to go.
Dodgy, cheat company – Bought a mattress and bed. Very poor quality. When wrote through ebay to return the item, promised to send replacement and requested that I withdraw the dispute on ebay. Then never sent item and then stopped responding. Very poor quality product and cheat.... avoid Show details
Dodgy company, cheap stuff, avoid! – Had to return the mattress because we don't believe in rollup mattresses. Although unable to talk to someone the first time tried to call, did receive a call back very soon. the agent on the phone sounded pleasant. Been asked to try their mattress in the warehouse that is fully extended. Will see how that works. Show details
Lost firmness in 15 months. Back ache and Neck pain are the long term side effects – Bought in December 2015, it used to be soft and comfy for first 3 months and later became soggy. Now after 15 months we struggle to get into and out of bed, mattress feels like quick sand... Show details
Comfy initially, but so poorly constructed that it only lasted 13 months – After leaving a glowing review of my new mattress back in April 2015, it lasted only 13 months before the springs warped at pressure points and my husband and I developed back pain. It had an easy life, with not heavy people sleeping on it. The warranty was only valid for 12 months, so what a waste of $600. Time to get my 25 year old mattress back out of the shed, they knew how to build them back then!
Don't bother – I purchased my bed frame 11 months ago, it is still within its warranty period and has completely collapsed. The slats have always been an issue- they fall out of their plastic "holds" easily, the headboard cracked and one of the feet have broken off. I have had to disassemble the bed and stop using it because as soon as I touch it it just falls… Read more

NOT Thick - Paid too much as a result - False Advertising – We purchased the 27cm and the 31cm that they quote on eBay. Both were 3cm LESS in thickness than what was advertised after 3 months waiting for some expansion, but it just never came to the advertised thickness. They are claiming a much thicker mattresses than what they are selling. Have to get a Double now and will be getting it from another… Read more

Terrible quality – Bed had wrong pieces delivered & couldn't contact them. Finally got the correct pieces after 3 weeks, which were of such poor quality. deal with these fools ever again, weeks of waiting for the right parts to get sub standard ones. I don't want it replaced with another dangerous & dodgy bed. $700 down the drain.
This bed was a queen sized French Provincial with a supposedly luxury mattress.
Great but only for a few years – Bought a king Size Mattress based on the good online reviews about 4 years ago. I am 6 foot and 90 KG. after 4 years, mattress is shot and needs to go. It is a cheap mattress and do not expect anything other than that. You get what you pay for and TS is very much for the spare room.
Mislead Photos – Bought on ebay on behalf of my Mum thinking it was a 30cm mattress like the others as the pictures looked like it was actually thicker than the others, but it is about 27cm. The images have been photoshopped. Very disappointing as I would have bought another otherwise which actually states their dimensions. FIX YOUR PICTURES so you don't suck others in.
Great mattress and bed frame – I've bought 2 mattresses, MO1D and 206Q which look like they maybe discontinued now. Was hoping for the best given the price and they are fantastic! Great value and awesome choices. Also bought 2 bed frames and put them together myself really easily. They both look just like they do in the pictures. Crazy bad mattress, & most of the reviews on here are fake – I bought this king size mattress with an open mind for $239 with $59 postage. On eBay the title is "Mattress double king queen 30 cm thick latex euro top pocket spring bed luxury" on their website it's called the "King Mattress Latex Pocket Spring Euro Top (Ashton Collection)" I thought, 'you get what you pay for so I won't expect much, but at… Read more
least it should be usable'. It arrived within 5 days and I opened it up and let it sit for 3 days until I had the time to replace my old bed. As soon as a lay down I instantly regretted my purchase.
For another $200 you can get a legitimate mattress instead of this bunch of foam and air pretending to be one. Please don't waste your money. For a 30cm thick mattress, there's no difference between this and an inflatable air mattress, there is just no support inside of it. The cushion top or euro top is not actually an additional layer of foam or anything. It's an illusion as the springs extend right through this layer to the top where there are hard little circles all over the surface. If it were not for these hard circles the pocket springs would be poking out of the top of the euro top layer. These circles dig into me.
When lying down I can faintly feel the slats of my bed frame through this mattress. When sitting up in bed I can really feel the slats digging into my bottom, as you would with an inflatable mattress. I sink into this mattress in a way that makes it very hard to move around, rolling onto my side takes effort. The feeling is hard to describe, it’s like I'm lying in a pit of sand that gives way beneath me when I push on it for support. I weigh 90kg, but I am very tall, healthy/fit. My wife is a little heavier than me and she just could not deal. Before I purchased this she was like, how can a mattress that's so cheap and rolled up into a box be any good? And I say, well Tommy Swiss has very good reviews so I think we should try it. When we lay down on it I couldn't even pretend to like it to save face, and my wife says ' I told you so'.
Terrible. Be aware – Bought the 209Q. Delivered within 3 days. I let this mattress decompress for 3 days. It was terrible, hard and smelly. I bought this one as it was advertised as the softest. This company is very dodgy and I will explain why. I wrote a bad review on here and immediately got a phone call from the company asking me to take it down and they will help… Read more
me out with my mattress. By the way I had to return it myself to their factory in Damdenong. I was promised a phone call back the following week to discuss this but never got it. Re sent an email to them reminding them and waited a week but still no phone call. I was so frustrated with the mattress I decided to slice it open and I was in shock. The 10cm pillow top didn't exist it was the external stitching that made an illusion of a pillow top. There was 2-4mm (yes mm) of latex and maybe 5-8mm of foam. The pocket springs made up the rest. Lying on the mattress it click clacks as the pocket springs are noisy. Please don't waste your money you will destroy your back. I have photos if anyone wants them. So here's the solution. Many retailers are now selling these vacuum packed mattresses. Costco, IKEA and many local mattress outlets (one in Hoppers Crossing Old Geelong RD) where you can actually go and try them out and take it hope immediately(7 days), where tommy Swiss will only deliver 9-5 Monday to Friday (Old school business mentality) and can't try it out. Please don't waste your money and look elsewhere. There's a lack of product quality and lack of service with the company. Try before you buy. Now I have bought a new mattress from a proper mattress store and I am very happy and stuck with the other one in the spare room I won't even give it away for free it's that bad.
So far so good mattress and bed frame – 1st lets address a major issue i keep seeing in these reviews,,, the courier. cant be home and there is a safe dry place you can have it left tell them you authorize the courier to leave it safe and give details aswell as your number so the courier can call you. Now the mattress, i went for the grand snoozer M210Q as i like a little more firmness. Once the mattress was unpacked i let it really settle for a few hours, 1st few night i found the mattress to be higher in the middle and felt like i would roll from the center out. This now has flattened aswell as the chemical smell disappearing. Even after the 1st nights sleep i noticed the difference when i woke, just the feeling in my body was better. I cant say that ive noticed that its shorter than a normal queen size like some reviewers have said. Its only been 2 weeks but this mattress has performed great, it feels super comfy, even tho its rated a 6 / 10 for firmness i think it could be a little firmer for my liking. I would prob rotate the mattress every month for the 1st few months but even if this mattress only lasts 2 or 3 years its a bargain and one of the best purchases ive made sleep wise.
Can't use this mattress. Do not buy! – When we first received our mattress we loved it. After 2.5 years our mattress is now unusable. There is deep sagging on both sides of the mattress. The sagging first occurred on my ( i am 80kgs) side. We rotated the mattress and it has now occurred on the other side of the mattress. Great buy, Best Mattress I've ever slept on! – I was trying to decide between a Futon and a regular spring mattress. The cheap futon had recently given up the ghost, so I was looking to buy another mattress. I was deciding to either buy a top… Read more
notch futon with the multiple layer of wool or another spring mattress. I read many many I mean many different reviews on other similar beds on multiple websites (Spent countless of hours). I've looked through Graysonline, Gumtree (New Mattress) and other bed manufacturer’s websites and came across: www.tommyswiss.com.au. I was very impress with what was on offer and narrowed my decision between the (209Q) Oxford Collection and the 210Q Grand Snoozer.
The 210 Grand Snoozer was $60 more and utilize sports foam and has a rating of 6 out 10 firmness, the 209Q utilize Latex with a firmness rating of 5/10. I must say that even though I'm quite active and fit (175cm weight 80 kilos) and would benefit from a firmer bed, I've always had a soft spot for softer beds even if I ended up sore the next morning from the lack of back support.
I decided on the 209Q Oxford collection (simply due to the softer rating and latex layer as oppose to the firmer sports foam on the 210Q), my decision wasn't swayed by the difference in price.
The 209Q features: Stromtech pocket springs, 10cm euro top, latex layer and Belgian knitted fabric).
When I first received the mattress, I sat on it and my initial thought was 'This bed was plenty firm,' however, when i laid down, I felt that same firmness that provides good back support and yet it also feels luxuriously soft at the same time. WOW! what a Win Win situation.
I've only slept twice on it so far and it's been the best sleep I've had for a long long time. I am simply blown away by the quality comfort it provides and the price offered. I got it on Ebay (Seller: Tommy Swiss Online) for $239 + $75 shipping, which is a bargain price. I don’t know how this mattress will hold up long term, but at the moment, I can't fault it.

Reissuing a new verdict with this mattress after 3 months use – I wrote a very positive review back in February. There has been very noticeable sagging creating a valley where I sleep. This mattress, in less than 3 months of ownership, has now become the mattress that I just ditched after 7 years. Now, fair enough, we are on the heavier side (90+kgs each, but not 100kgs) but I was really hoping for… Read more
more life from this mattress.
If you're 50kgs then it might work for you.
Now I have a dud mattress and my back pain is coming back, DH had to go to the chiropractor already and I have to start saving for a proper mattress, and I'm out $350 for a mattress that lasted less than 3 months :(
Luxury brand – Tommy swiss definately is a luxury brand, however the mattress is too firm and the pillow top too thin. But I hear they have more models out now. My choices were limited back then when I bought it for the price, it was the best on ebay. Still want to get a softer bed. Nothing beat my two soft foam mattresses, literally, im a princess!
I now wake up with a sore back and drenched in sweat – Ever since purchasing this mattress (it is also quite an unsightly mattress), I now wake up with a sore back and drenched in sweat, even when sleeping under a sheet or with the air-con on. Needless to say, I rarely look forward to going to sleep at night.
Worst Customer service – Yes, mattresses are great for what you pay..they're super comfy..but if you have an issue with the frame..dont even think they will be there to help you! Not worth the hassle caused by their customer service...you can find the same mattresses with better quality frames online with other retailers but customer service is far superior.
Awesome mattress for the price you pay! – We recently purchased the 206K mattress and it is brilliant! We tested a number of mattresses at retailers like Snooze and 40 Winks, we trialed mattresses there which were selling for over $2200, but this $299 mattress from Tommy Swiss feels better than all of those expensive retail models we trialled. Definately would recomend this mattress to… Read more

I tired calling the company to get more information about delivery time but I could never get through to them. A machine answered my calls and although I have left a couple messages to call me back, they never called me back. I guess the lack of customer service is one reason for the low price. I just moved to Cairns and I didn't have a bed so I needed this delivered to me ASAP. Luckily, it has arrived only 3 business days later. I was really impressed with the delivery time.
I was a little concerned with quality of the product when I saw how it was packaged. I could not see how a spring mattress could fit in a cardboard box the size a little larger than a punching bag. When I opened the packaging, I was very surprised how quickly it inflated back up to its original size. There is definitely a strong smell of plastic or some synthetic material. From smelling that, straight away I was concerned about the health risk but luckily, the smell has disappeared after about a week or so. I have kept my room well ventilated all the time though.
Some people here said the mattress is too hard but I find it firm but not too hard. It was comfortable on day one and a month later, it's still very comfortable. Possibly more comfortable now than the beginning. It may be the difference between latex euro top and pillow top. I don't find the side collapsing a all when I sit on the edge like some people have mentioned.
ADDITION:
Now, 10 months later, I'm still loving the mattress! I will definitely buy this again. Very comfortable, affordable, quick delivery time. Lacks in customer support and the smell of the mattress for the first week.
