Toshiba HL800A Series

Toshiba32" TV terrible sound and no pass thru sound to amp from external devices like DVD or WII,etc – I am extremely disappointed and would never buy Toshiba again because of the poor design features of this TV. I had a Sony and a Panasonic and Sharp and they could all pass sound from the RCA output to an amp for the devices input-ed to the TV like DVD etc..The sound quality on this TV is so so poor it sounds like a transistor radio and adjusting the bass and trebble does nothing! Another very poor design feature of this TV is the Menu Guide, the text is so small it cannot be read unless you stand 1m from the TV. My Sharp uses the whole screen and the layout is easy to read. Toshiba uses a small window of the screen and the layout is terrible. The LED feature is good and picture quality is acceptable when comparing to Sony, Sharp and Samsung. I'm sorry but I cannot recommend this TV to anyone because of the Poor sound! It does not see most USB devices for playback such as your iPhone, iTunes but because the sound quality is so poor, you would not use it for this anyway. I wish Toshiba would give me a refund so I could buy another TV. Don't Buy any brand TV just for a reasonable picture and price, Always check the sound quality! The price was competitive and the picture is quite reasonable compared to Sony, Samsung, Sharp. Sound is poor, limited design features, poor guide layout and small text, only 50Hz when Full HD
Great value 42" TV – I was looking to upgrade from my 32" NEC tv, looked at a few models from other well known brands, but they were all much more expensive... You need to use a home theatre when watching a movie, the sound quality is below average. Great value and the picture quality is great. Sound is poor.
Sounds good to me! – I bought one of these TVs in 32"screen and have been happy with the sound. The price was good compared to other big brands. I agree ith the previous comment that the text is too small but overall the TV is good. Only regret is I should have bought a 40" screen which is my own fault. Price, picture Small text

Got the 42HL800A Sound was good, picture was good, runs cool. Few connectors but enough. Menus are clear and easy to use, basic EPG
USB Media only supports H.264 mpeg1/2 on AVI
Handset is a bit plastic boxy but easy to use.
PC VGA input for monitor use was good quality but only a few of the input PC modes supported. Played XVID SD vids from the PC fine in full screen.
price 2012/1 $600 + $150 cashback (yeah riiiight)
Main buying objectives, is it cheap-ish, does it look okay, can I run it as a monitor, can I walk one out the door today.
Oh, and low reflection.
Satisfied.
