Long lasting good value – Very good, lasted many years without fault, still going. Would like to see more power out of the unit but that is limited by legislation to 5w. Hits the repeaters on Mt Perry from Gladstone which is about 115klm line of sight without a problem on a standard whip. Show details · 2
Great Radio – I've had mine for 8 years with no problems at all the radio and the emergency channels all work well and have been able to pick up signals through repeaters some 200km away Ive made no modifications and installed it straight from the box with a standard base loaded antenna. Another uho15sx another radio not working – This radio has only been used a couple of times no warranty, piece o junk and a total disgrace. The same issue as everyone transmits but will not receive . Burn uniden buy nothing of them
A swap I am not thinking twice about – I Swapped a mountain bike for this UHF and 4 handhelds, it seems to work but after reading the reviews I am doubtful that it will continue to work for long. I had a top of range GME in my patrol when it mysteriously stopped powering up, so since then I have been using an ANCIENT Uniden sundowner UHF (Promoted by Kieren Perkins) of the day when… Read more
he was in the Sydney 2000 Olympics, however it is extremely reliable but it is bulky and gets in the way of my seat if I need to adjust it, so I got this slimmer UHF.
If it packs it in ill post an update.
UH015sx – Piece of junk, don't waist your money, they get stuck in receive mode and have to be sent to be repaired, not to mention Uniden themselves aren't willing to sell you the part to fix it. Why spend your hard earned money on a product that should last years after its warranty period, especially when it was hardly used and well looked after. Gets stuck in recieve mode
No service! – We bought a Uniden UHO15SX about two years ago and it was good for a while, but recently packed it in and no one wants to know anything about it. We took it back to where we bought it and they weren't helpful, we took it to another Uniden "specialist" he pulled it apart, couldn't fix it and charged us $35 for his trouble, its still not working… Read more
and we are without our UHF. Was good when first installed It cant be fixed and is only a bit over two years old.
Great UHF – The UH015sx UHF is the best UHF I have not had any problems with this I can recommend it to everyone if you need a UHF cb go get a UH015sx you will love it thanks uniden for making a great UHF I wish I had anther one for my other car I would have to say I liked every thing about it There's nothing I can say wrong about it
Disapointed and frustrated – Hi, l am on to my second 015SX in two years and last weekend it packed it in. Both occasions the unit, without warning will jam up and the busy indicator will stay on. I use my UHF daily for work and rely on it to work properly and not have to replace it every 12 months. This fault can be repaired but can take weeks to come back. From my… Read more
experience l would not waste my money on uniden, go for the GME. It was good while it worked Customer service is poor and can only apologize, this tells me they dont care.
Hi, We also have a UHO15SX and it also packed it in after two years. We used it regularly, but… Read more (+1 reply)
Good – A good quality unit for construction and audio quality. It has all the features that most people want in a UHF radio, plus some. The head unit is compact and will fit in most places and can be tucked out of the way. Apart from the mounting cradle for the head unit, this is a recommended product. Very compact and high quality radio. The back… Read more
light can be changed to match your dash lights, as long as they're amber. :-)
The speaker output is clear and easily heard. Receieved signals are likewise clear and crisp. The scanning function works well.
The unit can be programmed to scan emergency services frequencies, although I didn't.
The head unit is very compact and can be installed in many spots in a car or 4WD. The mic is nice and comfortable to hold and use.
The unit seems fairly robust. Mine was bashed about over some pretty rough terrain and held up no problem. The mic connector to the head unit is bulkier than it needs to be.
The side holding knobs are fairly weak and don't hold the head unit securely.
Beter than the rest – In Victorian High Country this unit coupled to a 4.5db antenna picked up a distress call way before the rest of the other radios in the group. We were able to rescue the standed couple thanks to the early signal. Outstanding range and tenacity holding on to the weak signal. The mount is a little finicky but some locktite fixed that.
