Good unit but does not wear well – This unit has been used by me for the last 1.5 years. In that time I have noticed excessive wearing where the item comes into contact with the ground, attachments etc. The flexible hose has split also and when I went to the service department I was given a series of tasks to perform to get the vacuum into their hands as well as no guarantee as to… Read more
how long my machine will be gone for (I bought it from Godfreys but this is the actual distributer that I was dealing with). I'm quite handy and asked if I could just have the parts sent to me which they refused even though I offered photos of the wear to show what I needed. I know there's procedures but a vacuum is not an item you can go long without. I didn't want to find out it was going to be three to six weeks when I've got a home with small children to keep clean.
On the positive side, (apart from the wear and the hose) the suction is great and it performs well. It has worked very well besides the problems so I give it good marks for that and a loss of one for the wear and another for the lack of easy service. I work with warranties also and offer good service, maybe I just expect the same.
Excellent machine – Bought this after my previous vacuum cleaner crashed and luckily Harris Scarfe was having a big special for electrical appliances. As I didn't know the brand I was a little skeptical with its quality. We have a ragdoll cat and causing so much issues with our previous vacuum cleaner. With this current one - no problem at all, good suction, light, quiet, and easy to manoeuvre. Show details
Save your money for something better – Bought this cleaner as I had a wonderful Vax upright some years ago. Had to change to a barrel as we had the floors polished and an upright cleaner was not suitable. Now have tiled floors downstairs and carpet upstairs. Hate barrel cleaners so was pleased when I saw this. However it is not the same quality as my old Vax upright. It loses suction… Read more
quickly, filters clog up really easily and when washed they take an age to dry especially in Queensland in a humid summer. Even when the filters are clean and the barrel empty it will not pick up cornflake crumbs from a tiled floor.
This vacuum has many design faults; if you don't hold on to the electrical cord it gets under the cleaner which is obviously quite dangerous, it takes two hands to remove the hose section from top of the cleaner, the sides of the base are so broad it does not pick up anything along the edge of skirting boards or solid furniture which means an extra job going around with the nozzle tool, and the small brush attachment beaters have never worked.
Sorry Vax but your standards have slipped and I will not be buying another machine of this brand.
The best Vac for sucking up the animal fur – I am extremely happy with the performance and suction of this machine. It is the best I've had for pet fure. It is light, bagless, up right so easy on the back and easy to maneuver. I have mostly carpet floors but not sure of the area. Average 3 bedroom high set house in SEQ Show details
Not good! – I couldn't agree more the suction is not good on carpet I end up using this on my tiles and wooden floors but after I have done my rugs I have to go over with my vax or cyclone. The suction is so bad I have a furry type blanket on my bed during winter and my cat sleeps on it too I can lift the vacuum onto it and vacuum it if I tried this with my… Read more
other vacuums it would try to suck the whole blanket up.
I also never payed full price I brought it when it was on offer at Godfreys.
It is easy to manoeuvre but the once you take it apart to vacuum up high the suction well I may as well blow on the ceiling or couches to remove the cat hair.
Very disappointed indeed.
Never been so frustrated with an appliance – I bought this specifically because it was advertised as ideal for pet hair. It does pick up hair very well until it clogs up, usually within a few minutes. I then spend more time trying to get pet hair out of the foot or hose than I do vacuuming. You have to pull the whole thing apart and even then not all the blockage can necessarily be freed at… Read more
first attempt. The cord is very long but you have to wrap most of it around you, as there is nowhere to hang it, or it gets caught under the machine every time you reverse. The attachments are useless.
It does eventually clean the carpet but I could sweep it in half the time and do as good a job. It glides over dirt and won't pick up dried grass or bits of paper on wood or tiles.I got this on sale so didn't pay the full price but it was still an expensive machine given its shortcomings. I had a much cheaper, smaller, cordless machine that had lasted 3 years and thought I was upgrading. No such luck!
