Love my Bug – I love my 2003 Vw Beetle. She’s convertible which is fun, easy to operate the roof, all automatic, so simple. I love the cruise control and heated seats. Great tech for her age. And of course i love the little gerbera in the vase. i love my bug very much. Show details
Overpriced and poor quality – Low power for a 2.0 litre, auto very ponderous about shifting, cabrio top rear window sealing is unacceptable and completely falls out, VW will not fix. Plastics inside break and deteriote , Dash reflects badly in sunlight, headlights pop out of their electrical connections, wipers intermittent, door switches fail, leaving you with a locked car and keys in ignition. Would never buy another Volkswagen, if you want a beetle buy the original. Show details
Sorry to see it go – I love my beetle convertible but I have had too many problems and it's cost me a fortune to fix. The timing belt broke at 60,000km ($3,500 to to fix...Should have been covered by the 80,000km warranty but they scammed me out of paying (following this up with consumer affairs at the moment), the back window stopped going up and down as a cord in… Read more
that broke...$600. They practically had to take the whole car apart to get to the source of the problem. Lots of other little things...light bulbs going, coolant lead coming out ($400) etc etc. I'm now too afraid to put the top down in case the electronics in the roof brake and that apparently costs a mint to fix. If the warranty people paid up like they are supposed too, I would probably keep it. I've only had it for 2 and a half years and I bought it second hand from Salter's of Moorooka...that was my first mistake. Cute, easy to drive...loved it. Too expensive to fix all the time, bad warranty, no help from VW when something goes wrong.
Good – I am the current owner of a 2003 Aquarius Blue NB Cabrio which I have owned since brand new. In the time that I have owned this car, I have found it to be reliable and lots of fun. The electric roof is easy to use and the quality of the roof makes driving with the roof closed comfortable and quiet. This car has seen several winters and I have… Read more
never had an issue with roof leakage. Great fun car to drive. Heated leather seats keep you nice and cosy on the coolest of days. The 2.0L engine is known amoung the VW community as 2.0 slow for a reason. While the power is adequate, a car like this deserves a little more. The US version of the cabrio has a turbo option, this should have been available for the Aus version. The massive $10,000 price decrease on the cabrio from brand new (VW initiated) from the 03 to the 05 model has made resale value of the 03 and 04 models not as good as it should be. Limited room behind the wheel and the limited wheel adjustment means that short pregnant women (like me) have difficulty getting behind the wheel!
Good – being a beetle fan i love them, i have never owned one but have ridden in pleanty of them both old and new they are all great, i espically like the new ones they look modern but with out looking too out of place from the old sytle I really like the look of the cabriolet as it is very sport and makes it look sexy as well as being a real head… Read more
turner. even though they are a small car i think they would still impress big time. looks great very cute! not sure if it had a hard top that would be good
Excellent – I currently own and drive one of these beetles exactly this colour they call Gecko Green. Although mine is a hard top. Everything about this car is great! They are easy to drive, look amazing and so far I have had no problems with it. It looks super cute and I am the envy of all my friends and family and these cars certainly turn heads! Most… Read more
people would consider this to be a small car, but when you get inside it is actually quite spacious! The look, inside and out, the colours, the way they drive...pretty much everything!
