Will never buy a Westinghouse oven again – Worst oven ever! Have had this oven for around 6 years and have had the element replaced now for the 5th time. The Westinghouse recommended repair mans advise was don’t clean it with oven cleaner. Great option thanks mate Show details
A great oven for the price – We have had this oven for 5 years and it works a treat. We use it daily for roasts, cakes, etc. You can reset the clock at the power meter. I have one more piece of advice, if you turn off the fan too soon after use, the control panel can overheat and throw the switch at the power board. After it cools down you need to turn the switch back on and reset the clock on the control panel. Show details
A good product at first but what a load of garbage - never again – I originally purchased this as a replacement for a kitchen refurbishment for my home, was a good product but I went to clean it and the glass shattered in the sink (covered under warranty, all good), but now the oven digital display no longer works and needs to be replaced. After reading these reviews I will not bother with it and with purchase a Miele oven as a replacement. Show details

Great oven – Has been a great oven for 3 years now. Larger capacity than other ovens we looked at, has normal and maxi grill, cooks food well and is easy to clean. We had a blackout and the clock 'died' under warranty. Customer service at Westinghouse was going to send a technician until i got a call a couple of days later from a rep in Sydney and she talked me through the simple process of re setting the clock. Love the service and product. Show details
No issues at all – Had it for about 3.5 years, no issues at all. Heat distribution can be better but for a $700 basic oven it's value for money. Roasts are perfect, baking is perfect, pizza on a stone fine, vegies on a large tray might need moving around once during roasting to make sure they're even. Show details
Value for Money – We bought this oven based on value for money, and based upon a review by Choice magazine. Overall quite happy; it certainly doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it gets the job done. Positives: Value for money, looks good, good for an investment property. Fan works very well. Negatives: No self-cleaning mechanism, the temperature… Read more
seems to always cook slightly lower than selected, and the grill seems to get slightly hotter than expected.
We've had the over for 13 months now, and none of the problems listed in others' reviews have so far touched us. e.g. - the oven door does NOT seem to release heat, the displays all work fine, and it certainly has not blown the over door on us.
Fingers crossed I don't jinx us.

Awful – I will NEVER buy a Westinghouse oven, or any appliance made by the Electrolux company again. Wanted to buy Australian but had this oven for 6 years now and like everyone else it cooks unevenly. Worse, i now have to replace the element AGAIN! Changed it not even 2yrs ago. Waiting for something else to break so i can get rid of it. Had a Dishlex dishwasher too and that kept breaking. Pieces of junk! Show details
Piece of junk – We payed a small fortune for this worthless piece of junk. It’s performance as far as cooking is terrible, undercooked or over cooks every time. We’ve had this for 3.5 years and last couple of days it’s made a strong electrical burning smell. I turnbit in this morning to bake my 3 yr olds bday cake and hear a “pop” oven is completely dead. … Read more
Customer service told me “sorry, you’re not covered under warranty” call out fee $164 plus parts of it can be repaired.
Will never buy one of their crap products again, like others here said, no wonder it’s been discontinued!
Very ordinary oven – Purchased this for a rental property, Choice recommended, Australian made. What a mistake. Not much more than 2 years later, the Tennants have complained about how bad the oven performs. Now the bottom element isn't working. After reading all the other reviews, I have decided not to repair it as it isn't worth it. Sad thing is, I can buy a Bosch… Read more
for not much more, which is what I will do. I am equally annoyed with Choice. A long time ago they were outstanding in their reviews. They are now so poorly performed that I wouldn't trust them to review a canoe.

No wonder why it’s been discontinued – We bought this oven as it was meant to be the best at the time of purchase so we put in more than we wanted to spend but thought it would be worth it...WRONG! It has either burnt cakes or taken 2 hours plus to cook roast potatoes and now it keeps on tripping our metre box on fanforced like so many on here. After no reply by email I called them and… Read more
I was told that there was no know fault like this recorded, only a clock one and that I’m going to have to pay a call out fee plus parts to get Westinghouse to look at it as it’s outside of its warranty. In Australia there is consumer law warranty and expect an oven to last longer than 10 years even though it’s been 4. I’m appalled that they are denying a problem with this model and that there is no product recall on it. I will take this higher and if anyone in Australia wants to join maybe a class action suit might help jog their memory.
December 28th 2018 Update: Dangerous fault
Bought this oven some time ago from Harvey Norman after spending a fair bit of money on it. I read up on it and it seemed good but once installed it never cooked properly. Every th hig was either under cooked or ended up burnt. Potato bake would take 3 hours and still not be fully cooked but burnt on the top. A few years back the fan force kept on tripping my electricity box and Westinghouse house refused to fix it even though many people on here especially have had both problems mentioned and fixed through them. I can only use the base setting and now the element is burning through the metal bottom. This is not safe and not acceptable, I understand that my warranty is out of date but I have a consumer warranty that should cover all these problems as obviously it's a faulty oven.
Now the base element is burning through the metal bottom. This is not safe and not acceptable, I… Read more
Can see why it's discontinued – Extremely disappointed in this over, which I purchased a couple of years ago. Everyone else I know with this oven has the same problems. It just does not cook well, from roasts to cakes, disappoints every time. Saving up to change to another brand. No wonder it is now discontinued. Show details
Another Westinghouse bites the dust – After four years of using the above model, we've found the bottom heat element has burnt a big hole in the bottom of the oven compartment. You can actually see the element heater. Rang Westinghouse Customer Service only to find that a technician would cost us $145.00 for a call out fee with maybe a refund of an $80.00 voucher (if we're lucky)! No more Westinghouse products for us. It should have last a few more years than that. Show details

So Much For Australian Made Ovens – With all the chest thumping that Electrolux/Westinghouse has undertaken in the past about manufacturing products locally including Westinghouse and Electrolux, it's proven to be a less than satisfying experience. I have no doubt i have a faulty thermostat and a clock that need to be replaced.
Why these ovens were not recalled from the market is beyond me. Doubt Elextrolux/Westinghouse care anymore about Q&A.

Never again – Similar to other reviews. Uneven cooking and I avoid using it despite the choice reviews (won’t trust them again!). Would have thought the brand would be more reliable from my history of buying previously higher quality Westinghouse ovens. Never again will I buy a Westinghouse oven or follow choice reviews. Not Good – So when i first got this oven 4.5yrs ago i was happy as my old oven was crap - but at least it didnt blow up and cooked evenly! Then tonight put fan bake on and it starts sparking like crazy from the element (like someone had put a sparkler in there). Turn it off and now fanbake doesnt work, look on this site and what do you know...everyone… Read more
elses fanbake isnt working either!!
Im assuming its the element and this is easily fixed but seriously its not even 5 yrs old. The oven is average at best and as everyone else says cooks unevenly. Although mine doesnt sound as bad as some, my food is never raw but this just shouldnt happen!
Sick and tired of new whitegoods being so cheaply made and not lasting. Think i will just replace it and definitely not with westinghouse/chef/electrolux. Replaced my crappy dishlex dishwasher (same company) with a Bosch. Will never buy from this company again, shame!
STAY AWAY! – After only 2 years of very light usage, fan caught on fire only after 2 minutes of turning it on and then a bad toxic smell. Not happy with it at all. Worst customer support ever. I would stay away at all costs!!! . Not worth the trouble and money. Show details

Following 'Choice' advice was a big mistake – Choice rated this product highly 2 years ago when I was building my new house. It is a disaster. Poor heat distribution and inconsistent temperature overall. Grill very basic and heating element either burns or under cooks. Cleaning is difficult. Will pull it out as soon as I can save enough to replace it. Show details
Faulty clock – Moved into home in retirement village where each unit had these ovens installed. The clock on my oven has now decided to revert to 12:00 all the time and will not reset even when I follow instructions. It changes for a few seconds and then reverts back to 12:00. Very frustrating if you are trying to cook something as it then turns the oven off. I… Read more
have spoken to few other people in village and they are all having big problems with their ovens too so can see why it has been discontinued. Looks like I am going to have to replace it and would have got another Westinghouse as this brand is usually so good but fell scared of getting another bad one like this.

Looks great but a waste of money – Purchased this oven figured Westinghouse was a good brand name and made in Australia and looks great. Very poor oven performance. No crispy baked potato's here. The grill also takes 3 minutes to heat up, then has no grill temp adjustment so burns everything if you don't stand and watch it. The grill nob gives the illusion marks that you can adjust… Read more
the grill temp but you can not. The clock looks like a $2 display of ebay. Horrible red glow. It's not even an am and pm clock just 24hr. Funny it stopped working 1 day before the warranty ran out (2 years), I had just sold my house but rang Westinghouse and it was promptly replaced. Looking for an oven for my new house and will avoid Westinghouse. Looking at other brands mid and high price ranges but worried about getting burnt again, (pardon the pun) so considering an oven from Aldie store for $300 with 3 years in home warranty. Can't be any worse then this oven.
Temperamental oven – This oven has been gradually getting worse over the years. Sometimes it bakes biscuits really well, sometimes not. Sometimes roasts are perfect and scrumptious, sometimes not. Cooking on multiple trays on fan-forced is usually a no-go, unless it's biscuits. Anything in a pan with higher sides (like a roast) can take upwards of 2-3 hours to cook,… Read more
even a small roast with veggies! You've got too plan your dinners well in advance with this oven.
The temperature control is the most temperamental part. You think it's set to 180, and it feels more like 150. You put it up to 220, and it still feels like 150. It just won't get hot enough, unless you're using the grill, then it can get too hot!!
The changeability of the oven's temperature is my biggest gripe. Even with good reheating (like over half an hour), there's absolutely no guarantee that things are going to cook like last time, even with the same settings, and even the same thing being cooked.
The fan forced setting is highly variable as well. Muffins get burnt towards the sides of the oven, yet those in the centre are not quite done. It's frustrating. It's almost a waste of time cooking in the kitchen, sometimes, especially when you know you're a good cook and things turn out so changeably. I've been very disappointed with my cakes in this oven, our previous oven we thought was crap, then we got this oven. I cooked a cake just last week and it was in there for over 2 hours - the centre was perfect, but the outside was burnt, and that was at supposedly 180!! It has never been this bad, so we're finally getting a new oven, we can't take this crappy cooking anymore! Never a Westinghouse again. Not a good brand for ovens, so it seems...

Frustrating terrible oven – Not all ovens are created equal ! This is the absolute worst oven I have ever used How can I have burnt and raw food on the same tray?? So frustrating and time consuming to have to constantly rotate everything. I will be steering clear of Westinghouse from now on I have this oven for 2 ½ years and it's driving me crazy

Westinghouse oven clock stopped working – Westinghouse oven clock stopped working no lights at all but oven works decided to go to fuse box turn power to oven of and on and it worked again ahhhhh you have to love the simple fixes in life .
Buy something else – This oven is pretty crap, I've had it for over 2 years now. Good points - Provides a hot place that will cook your food. Bad points - Heat is totally uneven throughout oven, even when using the fan, so temperature setting is pretty much hit and miss. The display died just after the manufacturer's warranty ended but luckily I had purchased… Read more
the extended warranty and had it replaced. The new display doesn't always register when you press the buttons and can be kind of annoying.
I'm not sure about the timed shut off on other ovens but when you program it to turn off at a certain time it keeps beeping until you press a button, so if you're in the middle of doing something else you have to listen to the beeping until you can go over there, it kind of defeats the purpose of auto shut off in my opinion.
I regret buying this oven and not reading the reviews on this site before purchasing. It does the job, I still use it a lot but I'm sure there are a lot of better options in the same price range.
This is crap, can do with out it – Would not buy Westinghouse appliance again.pp733 oven and cooktop.First off ,glass in oven door exploded, oven was replaced lucky it was still under warranty, next oven stopped working ,it was to do with timer,so fixed oven ,no timer at my exspence, now large left front hot plate won't turn off,had to go out side turn power of at meter box another $145 call out fee .

Scared to use the oven – I am disappointed and scared at the same time when the oven's internal glass exploded. We have had it for nearly 2 years but we have been using it very sparingly (2 -3 times a month). The Glass seems to be of very poor quality and I noticed that lot of other people have given very bad reviews about this product. We have a two year old child and a bit nervous, and hoping that the front glass does not break.

Don't ever buy this model - doesn't cook anything properly – We switched from a gas oven to the 667S in July 2014 based on a Choice review and for a few months though the under heating, uneven cooking and extreme length of time to cook without browning was simply our own fault as we weren't used to using an electric oven. When these problems persisted despite trying heating for 30 mins before cooking or… Read more
turning the temp 20 degrees above recommended didn't fix our problems, we called a technician who advised us the oven was heating at the bottom of the acceptable range and that this model was very problematic. I can't believe Choice got this SO wrong!!! I we will never purchase a Westinghouse oven again - it is so bad we are thinking of replacing it at 18 months old.
Continues Appalliing – This is a follow up to my original review of 7 Dec 2015 (below). [Note: as in my original review, this is a verified purchase] 1. Summary of the original: doesn't cook; cooks unevenly, slowly and unpredictably. 2. Westinghouse response: very quickly contacted me via email & phone. Sent technician who said the oven was heating at bottom end of… Read more
plus or minus 15deg C margin of error. He replaced thermostat.
3. What I forgot to say on here and to the technician: the Mode Selection function does not work at all well: can take many taps of the "mode" button to get it to select or turn off an option. We were so concerned about the cooking performance that the mode selection seemed like a small issue.
4. Performance since technician visited: Initially we were pleased as it was clear that the oven was now hotter–vegetables could be heard sizzling on the baking tray and they came out cooked. However, it is now clear that this is a terrible oven, and I suspect that Westinghouse's prompt response to me and to others on here indicates that they are aware of this. The oven simply will not cook things unless there is only one tray in at a time and even this is unpredictable. We tried cooking a medium sized chicken, a small turkey roll and some vegetables for Xmas day. The chicken simply didn't cook despite over two and a half hours in the oven. The turkey barely cooked, the vegetables were still firm and not crisp at all, sort of firm but soggy, it that makes sense. The chicken took a very long time to get to 40deg in the centre (it was a c.37 deg day!) and was barely 60deg C after a very long time before we decided to give up on it and just get the white meat from the breast. The drumsticks were not cooked at all. We have regularly successfully cooked this mixture of food over many years in a small, cheap Electrolux oven, a similar sized SMEG and an older Electrolux.
I suspect this oven is unsuitably over sensitive to airflow and/or/because (it is) badly insulated, possibly with an inadequate fan. Whatever, it certainly seems unfit for purpose. The annoyingly ineffective mode function still seems a minor problem but I don't have much faith that it will work for at all long.
I raised my concerns with Choice about their recommendation. Choice said they tested this in 2012 and that the complaints on this site start in 2013, so there may be a bad batch of these. Hmmm.
On 10 March 2015, a Choice member complained "I've just read [your] review on wall ovens then did a search on product review and people have given pretty bad marks on the electrolux and westinghouse ovens you have given the best marks for." Choice, rather sniffily I thought, responded: "CHOICE tests are done in a unbiased, comparative setting where all ovens are tested in a controlled laboratory test kitchen. Our home economist has over 18 years experience in testing cooking appliances and knows what to look for, how to assess them fairly and accurately." So much for listening to feedback.
I note that this oven received an overall score of 92% and a performance score of 94% in the original review. These scores are higher than any of the ovens Choice has since tested. It doesn't bode well for getting a good working oven.
This is very disappointing and a bit dispiriting. Undoubtedly, there are greater problems in the world but it annoys me that we've paid good money for something that is so unpredictable and unreliable as to be effectively useless.
Over to you, Westinghouse..

Very Poor Oven. Not Hot Enough, Uneven Cooking – The oven has not performed well from day one. It seems cooler than the temp setting and it cooks unevenly even with the fan force on. Almost New And Time To Replace it – We purchased our POR667W two years ago when we were renovating our house. My first cooking experience on it was a ruined cake, followed by dinner guests who sat around waiting for a roast to cook for about three and a half… Read more
hours. The carrots were half-cooked and the rest of the vegetables were soggy. I have only attempted one roast since and that was last night. Same story - tough lamb, hard carrots and soggy vegetables, a total disaster.
Occasionally, with a bit of patience, I can coax a reasonable cake out of the oven, but I jack up the temperature about 40 degrees and watch it like a hawk. It only took about 12 months to master that art.
I have had two years of total frustration with this oven, feeling completely inadequate and blaming my cooking skills. I can't begin to count the number of times I've apologised to my recently acquired and slightly bemused husband for what has come out of that oven. I'm only grateful for the fact that it's electric and not gas, as by now I would have poked my head into it!
My husband kindly did the research and turned up this site. I finally feel vindicated. What kind of an Aussie wife can't cook a roast for her "bushie" husband after 40 odd years in the kitchen?
So, nearing our retirement and needing every penny we can muster after renovating our home, we now have to shell out for a replacement oven. My Westinghouse stove top is a beauty, but if you're tempted to buy one of these ovens, think again.

Dodgy batch – Purchased our new oven in Dec 2014, installed it in Jan 2015. Worked perfectly until a few weeks ago, (like many others it appears) the timer display died. Contacted Westinghouse and it he whole timer got replaced under warranty. 6 days later and it died again. Waiting on the repairman again today. Obviously a known dodgy bunch - pity they weren't all recalled & customers given their money back.
An absolute dog of an oven – I bought a new house and the oven was already installed but not used. Have had endless heating problems and being single now mostly use an $80 bench top oven which does a far better job. The only way I can get a half acceptable result out of the Westinghouse is to cook longer and at a far higher temp than normal. And it still won't crisp roast veg!
