AWESOME MACHINE!! – I puchased the above machine in June 2011 and only now Feb 2024, she has started playing up, which is the cycle stops 3/4 through it's cycle. Gotta say, nearly 13 years of service ya gotta be happy with that. This machine didn't skip a beat until now and, as a result puchased a new Whirlpool dishwasher yesterday. The only other little problem my… Read more · 2
2011 model had, was do with the digital display, the number 2 partially disappeared within the first year but could tell it was a 2 and didn't see it as a major problem. I highly recommend Whirpool. Can't wait for my new machine to arrive next week. This new machine comes with 5yrs warranty and if there is any problem it's automatic replacement. Gotta be happy with that!! The first photo is the old machine and the second photo is the new one.
Worked ok, now error after error – This has worked well enough for a few years, and now started a persistent E4 error. This could be temporarily fixed by tipping it to the side, but came back. We had a technician look at it and he cleaned a sensor, only to have an E1 error appear. We had to replace the inlet hose, and now we're back to the E4 error! Really frustrating to have it fail like this, and won't be buying a Whirlpool again.
Gone through two motherboards in less than 4 years - Stay Clear! – What a lemon. Was told that this dishwasher was a "quality product" at Harvey Norman, but they must have seen me coming. Less than 6 months after we got it, one of the lights wouldn't work on the front display panel - serviceman called and had to take the whole thing away to replace the entire display panel (this particular model has the… Read more
motherboard hardwired in, so cannot be dismantled easily in the home). Then for some reason about a year later it stopped working again but luckily it was still within it's warranty period. Managed to get it going again although apparently no parts replaced. Then last week, the display switch would not turn on again. This time as it is outside of warranty period it was going to cost me $750NZD to fix! Not worth repair. Man, I was so annoyed. Stay away from Whirlpool - never buy it again. Was a real shame as it cleaned the dishes really well but why would they hard-wire in the front panel making it impossible to replace parts easily?
Electrical Shock & Error 1 – Since new error 1 on constantly. Water supply fine. Dishes dirty. Cleaned out dishwasher thoroughly. Pipe emptied into bucket during cycle so water going through fine. Spinning arms hit dishes. On lowest shelf. Digital display unreadable. Now electric shock from dishwasher on two separate electrics outlets. Expensive for less then 5 years use. Out of warranty. Whirlpool have discontinued.
Brilliant so far – Got this machine as a refurbished second. The dealer told me they often get returned because the water pressure thingie on the inlet gets tripped and people figure it is broken. Don't know if that was the case with this one. Anyhow, so far the machine has performed far better than the lineup of average dishwashers I have used in the past. Washes… Read more
and dries very well. Pretty quiet and looks great. Only minor negatives... 1. the adjustable top shelf seems pointless. Only position worth using is the high setting as you can't fit much in the bottom shelf, including dinner plates or the cutlery basket otherwise. 2. It doesn't remember your last setting when switched off. Which you will have to do because of the annoying beeping it makes if the door is not closed.
Highly recommended
Average – Easy enough to use, nice clean finish on the dishes, except it does not fit our standard dinner plates! I thought it did at first until I realised the spraying arm will not rotate, as it keeps hitting the plates ! I even bought a new set of plates and they still don't fit! It seems really small compared to our last place. Not impressed at all. Digital, good timer, looks modern Won't fit a standard dinner plate !
No issues here – I found it interesting when finding reviews that people get out of their way to complain if they have an issue. Anyway after careful consideration via reviews and Choice, I decided to get this machine with the intention of getting an 8000 but it was only $30 more for a factory 2nd 9000 with a ding. What a bargain! The touch screen is great and… Read more
simple enough for a wife! Although it's been a while since I've had a dishwasher it is really quiet! The drying could be better but it washes very well which is what you buy it for.
Ensure you install it properly which took me a little time; like make sure the drain hose has a bend higher than your trap and you haven't got too much or not enough pressure. We'll see how it goes, I'll be back here if something goes amuck. Cheap Ding, factory second
Good product – This is a well made machine with many features, quiet and quick plus blue LEDs!! Soft touch buttons and a nice quality feel . If I was picky the water drain hose is only just barely long enough and the stainless steel is quite thin .i will re review after a few months Build quality None
Once again E1 – I have the same issue, the washing machine is about a months old, used every other at the most, now we have an E1 error message, I have checked the water pressure and filters which is all find. My guess is that these are sold with a faulty water pump does not work
Check that you have the inlet hose around the right way. The metal end with the anti flood parts needs to be attached to the tap.
Should have bought the Bosch – Bought this in November, had it installed in December. It never worked. Now mid February, have been waiting over a month for a part that 'may or may not' fix the problem. Whirlpool has no customer service. No Australian contact numbers, and little care for their customers. I cannot recommend how far you need to stay away from these products. We… Read more
have a whirlpool fridge, and I can only hope that it never breaks down. I have never ever received such poor service. Oh and to top it all off, all spare parts are kept in Singapore, they do not keep them in australia. So when something needs fixing it takes forever. Looks Good Never worked. Whirlpool's customer service needs a shakeup, it is horrendous.
Update: Still not fixed whirlpool just sent out the parts from my request (2nd set of parts). It is… Read more (+1 reply)
Has not worked from Day one – Purchased june 2012 the week before moving into new home, waited a few days after moving in to connect the dishwasher put in rinsed plates and glasses to do a cycle through the new machine nothing to stress iit but literally clean it for use. It operates for some time then E1 error code comes up and stops. We check Handbook and find E1 to be… Read more
water pressure so with the house being new we call builder and ask them to check pressure of New House and they find that the Tap was not fully open as it was hitting the other tap under sink so a plumber was called in (as it turned out the water pressure had nothing to do with issue there was adequate pressure before and after plumber visited) . In the meantime we called Whirlpool and registered a potential problem. After plumber informs us water pressure all ok we throw the problem to Whirlpool and organise a service call. Well the service repairman arrives agrees it is not a water pressure problem knew what the issue was tells us to empty it of the water in the bottom as he wont work on it says he has to order parts and leaves. Hold on the water is in the bottom because it wont work so we are back to square one and if you want teh water out you do it . We are now left with a machine that has not worked since day one that they cant repair so we have asked for a total refund. watch this space. It looks the part Won't work, llittle customer support
