This is a brilliant digital piano! Don't waste your time looking at other models – Whilst it took a while to arrive from Yahama, it was worth the wait. The sounds produced by this piano are without fault. The digial grand piano voice lives up to expectations as do many of the other piano voices included. You will never run out of choices that is for sure. On top of this I could not believe how well a guitar can sound on a keyboard, you have to play it appreciate it. The same can be said about the saxaphone voice. I am very impressed withi the CVP-509 and so glad I did not buy the cheaper model. The Polished Ebony looks brilliant, even though it attracts the dust. There is no other digital piano that comes close to the CVP-509. Voices, so many. You will never get bored with these sounds. So realistic! Music Finder + could be better. Text search for songs is a drag.

Excellent piece of digital Instrument – We bought this piece of lovely instrument few weeks ago. we meant to buy a Yamaha U1 or U3, just about we made a decision on U3, we saw this piece of instrument behind us and cant have our eyes off this instrument (CVP509). The manager was lovingly shown us all the wonderful features of 509. We were absolutely amazed with the sound, touch, and all the fabulous features that we never thought could be available! And surprise's surprise, we bought this over u3!!

The Style function is in particular useful to play, basically u just need to play the chords with you right hand, the computer will all generate the accompaniments for u! afterall, you can record it and make your own CD! The sound system is absolutely amazing. Afterward i learned that it has Tri-Amp system which effectively transmits high, medium and low frequencies better; as a result, it produces one of the most beautiful sounds you could hear from a digital piano. All the (instrument's) voices are beautifully presented, we really liked the saxophone; it is just unbelievable! Its grand piano's voice is stunning too. However, it can only produce 128 + 128 (accompaniment)polyphony; thus when you play highly complex pieces, i.e. Chopin and Ravel, you may encounter some sounds to be a little mussy. it surprises me that most CLP models featured 256 polyphony why not 509 that technically it only supports 128 polyphony?? But anyway, its sound (and the speaker system) is absolutely stunning. I'd used 509 to record some of my favorite music; i'd basically made them 6-7 track recordings with my own arrangements!

Another amazing feature is its vocal harmony. The computer will generate the right harmony based on your voice and the chords u played (you can even select the vocal harmony out of a total of 61! i.e. boys/girls choir etc). Seriously, it is super amazing. We had a couple of karaoke nights and our guests were so impressed with it.

In sum, it is a piece of impressive instruments. With this, u can have HOURS of fun, recording, karaoke, play like an ensemble and play/experiment with different voices and settings...... Imagine your right hand plays the melody and left hand plays the chords and you will play in an ensemble!it's definitely worth the price. Superb sound and voices, Hours of fun, Vocal Harmony, GP-liked touch Non-touch screen, Music Finder+ is not so good (and most are paid-content), 128 Polyphony
