by most people with limited experience and no specials tools needed. Would not attempt a long highway trip at 110kph as its working pretty hard at this stage but bike seems happy up to 80-90kph all day without any issues.

I found it underpowered for the experienced rider who is looking to do harder riding, but more than sufficient for learners or someone looking to do some trail riding or everyday run around. I am 90kg and ridden for over 40yrs and has sufficient power for my regular bush track rides. and occaisional wheelie or small jump.

There are a few low cost power upgrades such as removing the exhaust restriction (done), assist air box breathing (done) and then you can spend money upgrading mufflers and jetting if you chose. Replacement plastics are impossible to get, but everything else (chains / filters / lights) are available at most bike shops or ebay.

Bought mine second hand with very low Km and very happy with it. Anyone with past experience with the old Yamaha Xt's or TT's with enjoy this bike.

Fun bike – As tall as my '87 430XC. Heavy but handles fairly well. Mine is licensed as an off road vehicle and as such is not designed or intended for passengers. Excellent – great motorcycle would be great for beginners and professionals, great off-road and on-road max speed is 130km/h with original sprockets. not too heavy only 124kg easy to ride bulletproof. lighter than xr250l and dr250. nothing to dislike

Good – The Yamaha TTR250 is a great bike to learn on and get practice with, it's not to powerful and the handling is perfect, i highly recommend this motorbike if your looking to do enduro/trail riding. usage is also excellent the bike is pretty heavy if your new and fall off it that's the only down side i can think of.

Excellent – Great bike for anyone from beginner (like me) to experienced. Easy to ride and control. Reliable and cost efficient! Parts are really accessible and price is reasonable. This bike is fantastic - im new to riding and i purchased one of these! Its very easy to ride and is very reliable. My experienced friends ride it and it suits them as well. 2004 - heavy for me (im a light female).

Good – great learning bike, it is geared for the highway which is great but when you hit the sand you lose quite a few revs, but hey it's no enduro racer, I'm very happy with it! arent. Had the bike for 4 months whilst still on restricted lisence, no problems at all. ( Apart from the dealership forgeting to take out restrictors and ran like crap for the first week but that was dealers fault.) quite heavy and high seating position for a smaller person
