Summer saver – It helped a lot in the my garden surviving the summer months. The summer days have been unbearable to some of my flowering plants and those that have these crystals hold moisture even better. I just have to tock more on this as it often goes out of supply in my area in Brisbane.  Show details

Excellent – This strange substance changes from tiny granules to jelly chunks when you add water. It looks really odd and I recommend mixing a teaspoon with dirt when you plant the plant but then sprinkling plain dirt over the top because when the crystals are soaked you do not want them emerging onto the surface of the ground. The amazing thing is that when… Read more

its really warm and sunny the plant stays nice and perky and doesn't droop. If you mulch as well then you hardly ever have to water, which is great when you have water restrictions. It makes plants stay alive. Its weird.

Excellent – It is a great product and wish it was developed many years ago. I was skeptical to begin with but after using them I will not plant another thing without these water crystals. We haven't had rain in months and the only plants alive are the ones planted with the crystals. I recommend these to all gardeners. Keeps plants alive

Less is more in regards to this product – I use these water crystals in my bonsai's, and have found a better success rate with plants surviving the heat of summer here in SE Queensland. I find that adding a teaspoon to two handfuls of dirt and it worked through is all that is required to keep small potted plants charging on without any heat stroke - Bonsai's are known for it! Also… Read more

over watering these crystals can be an issue with root rot. I have found that adding some SeaSol to my water and making a slurry with the crystals and then mixing them through the dirt aid's nutritional uptake through the roots with the SeaSol being harboured where its needed.

These crystals will disappear with time, so every 12 months, replant and redo your soil with them to see your plant as happy as Larry :) Convenient, holds water and aids retention, keeps plants like Bonsai's going in hot periods! Jar not air tight, so crystals solidified into a great mass... Crystals disappear eventually so have to reapply yearly.

Excellent – these crystals sort of work like the crystals in a disposable nappy. when they are dry they are light and compact. but when they are wet they swell and retain moiture. it's great that you can but them in bulk if you are doing a lot of planting. these really do work - our plants are surviving much better our garden has suffered so much in the dry.… Read more

these really do help to retain moisture in the ground close to your plants. they allow you to water less often and seem to greatly increase the lifespan of your plants nothing - they are a great product and really work

Excellent – A great product to use when planting out a new plant or seedlings. GREAT for pots and tubs. Do not over-use, less is more in this case. If you are too generous your plants will be pushed out of the soil by the excess crystals when they expand. I highly recommend the Rainsaver Water Crystals. You can buy it in a handy 1 litre tub for around $20… Read more

from larger K-marts and BigW's. Unlike the other brand water saver crystals that last approx 6 MONTHS, these ones last up to 5 YEARS so are well worth the bit extra you pay. They have kept many of my plants alive through the water restrictions. The tub has a nice tight fitting lid to keep moisture out while storing. Nothing . It's all good.
