very ordinary with many,many brown spots! I followed the exact procedure that i have always done. But obviously as mentioned many times in the reviews the formula has been adjusted and unfortunately for the worse.I will be finding an alternative and Yates have certainly lost my future business and also the fact that i would always recommend this product to everyone. should be renamed Feed n Feed, theyve changed the formula, now absolutely no weed control whatsoever, have dosed lawn twice and its all done is make the weeds grow bigger and faster. Been using product for over 20 years without any dramas but whatever theyve changed in this so called new formula has no weed control ingredients. Disappointing

Bought it at Bunnings , looked at the ingredients , 5 percent iron sulphate , 5 percent ammonium sulphate , so 90 percent is a material such as sand . Quite a rip off for the price , considering what it contains . It will stain badly if you get it on concrete and pavers . It would work better if they included a more reasonable amount of the active ingredients , the iron sulphate and ammonium sulphate . Show details

It works but dont expect miracles – Its basically sulphate of ammonia with iron powder added, used in combination, they burn out the weeds. I often use this in late winter when the lawn is dormant and it works well. Its no magical product so dont expect everything to be thermonuclear dead instantly people !! Show details

Great product, lawn looks great – Don't understand bad reviews. Use your brain and some common sense, follow the instructions exactly as stated. Most importantly WATER YOUR LAWN FIRST. Have used YATES products for years, never had a problem. Show details

Can’t kill the smallest and weakest of weeds! – I cannot believe what a waste of money Yates weed and feed is. It kills nothing except your expectations. Don’t waste your money on a product that just doesn’t work, and I mean at all. Years ago it did, however due to the product strength being weakened to the point of uselessness it is now unable to kill even the tiniest of weeds. Doesn’t work – No weeds killed no improvement to the lawn. Black stains lasted months. Horrible. Kills grass – Followed instructions on packet to the letter. Lawn and weeds (clover) did burn. Killed more lawn than weeds, and when growback started the clover is coming back as green as ever, faster than the grass! Absolute wasted of time and money. killed my lawn – such an awful product. killed my whole front lawn. weeds just got worse and worse, eventually there was just dust left. literally needing replacing costing me thousands of dollars. won't ever use again.

Not Effective At All – I applied the product as directed, probably a fraction more liberally, but the results were dumbfounding. Initially, it blackened the leaves of some of the weeds but after 3 to 4 weeks far more weeds appeared than were there in the first place. distinction between the part of my lawn where I applied the weed and feed and where I didn't. The 75% where I did apply the 'Weed n Feed' has MANY more weeds now, with very few weeds in the 25% where it was not applied. If I could go back in time I would not use this product as my weeding task is now much bigger than before.

Rubbish – Doesn’t kill weeds just stains any surrounding surface orange Yes followed instructions no rain or retic for two days then any water run off stains bright orange. Terrible product and reading all the other reviews should be immediately taken off the shelves of bunnings.

Poor result – Unfortunately this is not as effective as xeliminating weeds it used too be , just the blackens outer leaves without actually killing the them. Directions followed. Will try a different next time.  Show details

Yates 12.5kg Granular Weed'N'Feed – I have applied Yates granular weed'n feed (very liberally) . I lightly watered it in 3 days later. I have found only 1 black dead weed from thousands. The same poor result happened last year too! I have a lawn full of clover 2-3 weeks later :( Show details

Works as expected - read warnings – Works great on my buffalo lawn. Those leaving reviews with staining issues and blackening have not read or followed the directions. The product contains iron so the precautions on the bag should be followed. As long as you follow the instructions you should get great results. I use every spring as the lawn comes out of its dormant phase. Have done for about 5 years now. Show details

Works well – I have used this product at the end of winter/start of spring for a few years now & get excellent results. Apply wait 2 days water in lawn goes black weeds die out & within a few weeks I have a lush green lawn for summer. Show details

Works fine – I bought 1 bag of the weed'n'feed granular and I was quite generous with how much I sprinkled over the weeds (since I've read it's not supposed to be that effective). It sat for a couple of days and I watered it in well. It's probably a few weeks now and the area is black (as it's supposed to be). Weeds are dead and the lawn (kikuyu) is springing back to life. Damaged driveway and started corrosion on metal fence. Avoid – Stuffed up my driveway and has caused corrosion on my metal fence. It leaves orange rust spotting on concrete and metal. It has caused my couch grass to go black yet little effects to the broadleaf weeds. Should of read the reviews prior to purchase of this product. Show details

Don’t panic! It works well – Perhaps some 1 star reviews were submitted early after application of this product because, as instructions advise, your lawn will ‘blacken’. This is an understatement as you’ll think you’ve poisoned your lawn, but don’t panic! Yates Weed and Feed Pro Granules – Purchased Yates Weed and Feed Pro and had similar experience to other reviewers. Grass only went black in odd patches and the clover is doing nicely thank you...won't waste my money again. Will never buy this again – I live on acreage so bought a fair amount of this from Bunnings at McGraths Hill in NSW. I used slightly more per square metre than was suggested on the instructions. My lawn is couch. After 4 weeks, I have double (if not triple) the amount of weeds. The product left orange stains on my concrete which I am unable to get off. Kills grass, weeds flourish – Purchased from Bunnings in Southport, no weeds dead at all, they have greened up beautifully. The grass however, is dead. What weeds this supposedly kills is beyond me. I will never purchase this product again. Show details

OK - Lawn Greener, but NO actual ingredient to KILL weeds – This is NOT actually a weed HERBICIDE, it is designed to stick to the flat leaves of the weeds and given them a terminal sun burn, that is why my lawn got a bit burnt. lawn green up. I've got a 500gm tub in my shed that is massively more concentrated and cost half as much. 50grams in 5 litres of water over my entire lawn. So 10 doses in 500gm tub.

Back to Amgrow Kleen Lawn Selective Herbicide next time, It does a far better job than Yates Weed 'n' Feed Granular did.
