We bought this Zyliss spinner less than 2 years ago and the handle and cord has snapped off. It doesn't appear that it can be fixed or a replacement lid obtained. Loved this sald spinner but disappointed that I can't replace just the lid. Sad in Canada. Show details

The picture shown is NOT the new version sold! We had the preceding model (blue, soft plastic, shown in the picture) for some 15 years and it was absolutely amazing; totally bomb-proof. When it finally gave up a year or so ago, we ordered TWO to replace it (one to use for a brilliant "forever" gift). What a disappointment the new version (green… Read more

plastic) is! Different materials, and more parts. The outer plastic bowl is now a hard but very brittle plastic; one of the two ordered spinners had already cracked during delivery (the sender replaced, thanks); with the remaining unit we fell paranoid about cracking it, too. The lid, which was one part in the old one, has now two parts that can be separated. One part is dishwasher safe, I believe, but its so fidgety to put together I'd rather not have it separate... Will not purchase this product again.

Mould mould mould – I got this Green salad spinner at thrift shop ( calle an op shop , in Australia) shop for $5. So amazing, what a great buy! Loved it until I started to think about mould. The lid does come apart, but not the spinning mechanism, where water cab sit and I can see needs cleaning. It's put me off using it. My Mum used to dry salad/ Lettuce by popping… Read more

into a clean tea towel & gently shaking it. I've decided that's far more hygienic, either that, it popping Lettuce into a large container with a open tray drainage insert in the bottom, giving the Lettuce a good shake. Might not be as dry as this Zyliss, but far more hygienic.

Very Disappointing - short life and not environmentally friendly – I've purchases my salad spinner a short time ago. Unfortunately in a very short time the cord became frayed and needed to be replaced. The unit is made in such a way that you cannot replace the cord. In this day and age this is disgraceful. While it spins well the fact that it is not robust and is made so that you cannot replace the cord I will not be supporting this brand again. Very disappointed in this product. Show details

Disappointed – My latest purchase of a Zyliss salad spinner is the fourth one I have bought. I always buy Zyliss as even though they are a bit more expensive the quality is better. However the latest one I bought (green) is too small and the inside lid falls off constantly as well as the top being hard to get off. Not to mention it doesn’t dry the lettuce at all. It’s going in the bin only a couple of months after purchase Show details

Disappointing end – Have had for about 10/11 years, cord had has on occasions not retracted but have always been able to get it working again, until now. It won't spin at all, does anyone have any clues as to how I can get it going again?

Zyliss salad spinner - so many broken over so many years! – I've been patient with Zyliss for over 15 years, as their original salad spinner lasted almost ten years before it broke. Now their new designs seem to last six months or less - always a small, inexpensive piece on the spinner mechanims breaks, irreparably. The last one lasted less than a month.

Great product – I've had mine with the ovalish pull cord for around 8 years. Its been brilliant no troubles at. But just dropped the bowl and broke it :(. Another note their garlic crusher for around 15 years paid about $30.00 back then and its still going.

Disappointed in another product :( – I bought the Zyliss Easy Spin Salad Spinner and was thrilled with it the first time I used it, couldn't ask for anything better. Went to use it the second time and the cord came out and won't retract back in. I'm so disappointed. I now have an expensive $25.00 plastic bowl.

Disappointing item – My salad spinner did not get much use but it started not spinning and now won't spin at all. I liked the size for a small kitchen. Never thought to check warranty.

Not Good Enough – This just doesn't get enough water out of the salad greens. Lettuce leaves become soggy instead of staying crisp. Very disappointing as the pull cord lasted for years and was excellent.

Fantastic – I have had my Zyliss salad spinner for 12 years. It has been used on average 2-3 times per week, every week during this time. Unfortunately, the pull cord doesn't work anymore

Pull cord doesnt pull anymore – This product was excellent whilst working, but it didn't take long before the pull cord didn't work anymore. You would pull it and the spinner would not spin. Spouse tried to fix it and it worked twice again, but died. Does anyone know how this can be fixed. The product would not be under warranty. For the price 69.95 I would expect it to… Read more

last a very long time. Brought a similar item in Big W for $5, it broke too, but what do expect for $5, not the same as $69.95. when working, it spinned the water out of the salads very expensive for an item that the pull cord broke in a short space of time

Poor design – I bought the one operated by cord and the cord broken after 1 year, so being under warranty, I replaced it with the more expensive one, operated by lever. This one lasted less than 6 months, since lost its grip on the bowl. they replaced it with the same model and again within the year it lost the grip on the bowl. I went back and replaced it with… Read more

the original operated by cord and just over the year it started to loss its grip on the bowl, then cord broke as well. I'll take my loss and no more Zyliss products nothing keep breaking down due to poor design

Be gentle – Purchased this item a few months ago and was really impressed- even though it takes the extra effort to make a salad its worth it. However, after a little while the cord that makes it spin broke. Just be mindful and gentle when using it- I was a little rough.

More than a salad spinner – What I really like about this salad spinner is that it's also useful for storing salad leaves after spinning. When I initially purchased it (quite a few years ago), I only used it as a spinner to dry the leaves, then I would wash, dry and put it away which I found quite tiresome and in turn probably didn't use it as often as I should. A friend… Read more

mentioned she would actually wash and spin her lettuce, empty the water and store the lettuce still in the spinner basket in the fridge. This works perfectly if only storing for a few days and now our spinner lives in the fridge permanently.

I have had a problem of mildew in the lid, but I find that if, every now and then I lay it on my sink, pour in a bit of white vinegar and leave for 10 minutes, then wash as usual in soapy water, this keeps it clean and hygienic. Good quality, spins well, works well for storing leaves too. Can be hard to store, lid can be difficult to clean and dry.

Bad – This works well to remove water from lettuce but best used for spinning on the day of consumption. This does not remove all traces of water form the leaves and I find it leads to leaves deteriorating much faster than if they had been left on the non-washed lettuce and leaves removed and washed as needed. The whole palaver of washing leaves,… Read more

spinning and drying out the bowl before storage (as this is where the water will go) is a real pain. And then you have to wash out the slimy lettuce reside a weeik later, wait for it all to dry out before re-using. There has got to be a simpler, more effective way of drying lettuce leaves. It does dry leaves to a degree. It looks good until it breaks. The large size is really too bulky for most standard size fridges and takes up a lot of cupboard space when not in use. This was given as a gift and after about 18 mths of infrequent use the plastic handle broke when my husband pulled out the cord one day. We now have the cord tied to the handle. One time I didn't have the basket insert in perfect symmetry and when the spinning commenced parts of the plastic broke off into the lettuce which we didn't discover until we were consuming it...

There is no way to separate the two layers of the lid for thorough cleaning and drying. Mildew develops and looks unsightly.

Good – This is a great tool to have in any kitchen. I use it weekly as you can wash the leaves in the basket then dry them by spinning the water away. It's really easy to use, dries the leaves and keeps them fresh and looking nice. You have to make sure you hold the lid on otherwise it can come off but otherwise a good buy. Great if you eat a lot of… Read more ·  1

lettuce. Washes easily and dries leaves without bruising them. Easy to use and clean. Reasonably cheap to buy! Space. I don't have much cupboard space and I'd love it if it could compact some way.

Excellent – I love my salad spinner. Mine is 18 months old and gets quite heavy use all year round. Salads in summer, spinach in winter, herbs. It dries wonderfully and is easy to use although it can sometimes get a little off balance if the contents fall to one side. Sturdy. Dries lettuce and herbs better than I could have imagined. Easy to use. Nothing really.

OK – I love this brand and have many of their products in other kitchen appliances so I am disappointed that this spinner doesn't work properly. I can still use it but it needs to be pushed down hard on the lid to be able to spin properly. The reason I love this brand so much is because they make all their products in such strong plastic, they have… Read more

good ergonomic handles and when they have blades on things they are sharp. Spins lettuce leaves perfectly dry. Good sturdy product and a great reliable brand. We've had our spinner a while, and now when we need to spin it we have to hold it down and apply pressure on the lid to get the cord to engage and actually spin. Sometimes it doesn't catch and doesn't spin. It is probably 5 years old but with such a reliable brand I expect it to keep working properly beyond 5 years.

Excellent – Exellent product for drying lettuce and spinach mixes for Salads. Gone are the days of getting a soggy salad cause the lettuce is wet when it goes in. I was amazed at how much extra water… Read more

Excellent – i love my salad spinner, it always works so well and dries lettuce perfectly. it needs non slip feet for the bottom though to sit in the sink great price, washes really well. dries lettuce so easily. Fits into sink really well. Made of tough plastic maybe needs non slip feet on the bottom

Excellent – Do you hate soggy salads because the lettuce isn't dry enough after washing it? Do you hate having to blot the lettuce with paper towels? Well if so i would suggest you grab yourself a Zyliss salad spinner. This is one of my favourite kitchen gadgets ever. lid on, pull the chord. How easy is that! After pulling the chord a few times you will be surprised at how much water it drains out! It's crazy! Best salad spinner ever! Also comes in a variety of colours. The large size i think is too large (which is the one i have) and i think the small is too small. Wish they had a size in between
