  Bosch WTW86561AU

A Lemon – Our Bosch condenser dryer (Bosch WTW86561AU) is awful. It needs a service every year or so to clean an internal lint filter that can't be accessed without a lot of hassle (even

for an accredited repairer). The dryer provides no notice that this is about to clog up and will suddenly start displaying the "full" symbol for the water container every few minutes. This nearly always happens on a rainy day when there aren't too many other drying options. We have been very disappointed, particularly given that this is considered a top of the range model. Over the last 5 years it has been repaired about 5 times. The last service a few weeks ago was over $200 (the most expensive yet) and we are just wondering now how long to keep it for.

Update: Sorry I missed a couple of questions from a couple of people about the dryer. I don’t have any answers. In the end I got so tired of spending money on our Bosch washing machine and dryer we sadly sent them to landfill (I couldn’t inflict that pain on anyone else). We are now very happy with our AEG machines.

Good as an everyday tough camera – If you specifically need a camera that is built tough or can do underwater photography then this camera is pretty good. For everything else just use your mobile phone as the

photos will be of a similar quality. This camera struggles with high contract situations (eg person against bright background or concerts with bright lights and darker spots). The lens is in a strange place (top left corner) and it is easy to get a strap or finger in front of it. The GPS is a useful feature but drains the battery so it would be great if it were easier to turn on and off. The video function works quite well. It is also a good size (but your mobile is probably smaller). Generally, the photo quality is disappointing and I think Nikon could do better as their DSLR cameras are brilliant. For the $399 price tag I think it is possible to find a better camera in another brand.

I have given this camera to my son and it is good for a child because it is easy to use and built tough.

Great iron – The iron is possibly the best we've ever had. It heats up quickly and glides effortlessly across the fabric. The base sticks out a bit and the cord doesn't always go exactly where

you want it to go but these are very minor points and the cord may loosen slightly with use as it is still very new. I would certainly recommend this iron to others.

  Philips PowerLife Steam GC2960

Powerlife Stick – We bought this iron a few years ago and have battled along with it sticking to most of our clothes. The iron works but it is hard work because it just doesn't glide along the

fabric as it should and some modern stretch fabrics start to burn before the crinkles actually come out. At the weekend we went and bought a new iron because we just got fed up with it and our new iron made us realise how bad this one had been. Needless to say, our new iron isn't a Philips, nor will I be keen to buy a Philips iron again.

Awful - not fit for purpose – We bought this knife to cut home-made bread. We had just had a Breville which died. I wasn't happy with the Breville as I thought it was slow and didn't cut the bread very well so

I spent an extra $20 on the Sunbeam. Surely a $60 knife would be 150% better than a $40 knife. WRONG! Cutting bread with this knife is frustratingly slow. The handle has dreadful ergonomics. Instead of a squeezing motion the user needs to slide with their finger as they are gripping and because the blades are so inefficient this position has to be held for some time. This knife is so much worse than the Breville. Then without warning when the knife was 9 months old it made a strange noise and completely lost all power to the blades. We took it back to the retailer, changed back to Breville and got our $20 back. Seriously, is there no company that can make a decent knife?
