Selected Review Westinghouse 610L Side by Side WSE6100 Series Love it - the adjustable storage and plastic drawers with electronic extras for more special options – I love my Westinghouse side by side fridge/freezer and got it for $1100 from Clive Anthony's during a sale promotion in 2007 - they are still selling today for RRP +$1600! It… does well for 4 person family. It has attractive electronic push button settings that are out of reach of children and easy to understand and use, with selections for quick drinks chill or a quick freeze - for when you put new items in and need it chilled or frozen quickly or have had the door open for a while while cleaning or restocking. It also has an alarm to remind you to take any special items out of the fridge or freezer at 5, 10 or 15 minute intervals! Handy for avoiding exploding drink (beer) bottles in the freezer! Has a holiday mode for low power usage while you are away and not opening and closing the doors. The blue light and controls which is at eye level in the fridge looks stylish with a clear view of the current temperatures for both units and the current time of day in digital format. The doors have different shelving sizes to accomodate larger base bottles like 3 litre milk or softdrink bottles and unusually very tall bottles, as well as little shelves for mustard etc, along with a click lock pull out drawer for medicines which is up high away from little kids reach - Really useful! I can adjust the shelves in many positions to really maximise the space depending on what I have going on - which is really handy for large slow cooker pots & lettuce bowls - whilst still having room for the smaller item shelves, and allowes for an easy combination of both really small and really large containers!! Its very easy to clean, and to adjust the glass shelving with quality hard wearing plastic surrounds/brackets. Has 4 drawers in fridge - two larger at bottom for fruit and vegetables and one smaller one at eye level - which I use for dairy etc and the medicine drawer up high in the door. The Freezer has two large drawers at the bottom also. I really like that both units have closed in drawers made from clear hard wearing durable plastic as it ensures any mess made in them is contained there until you get time to clean it up, rather than other brands that have wire baskets which allow any mess (bread crumbs, liquids etc) to go through the whole fridge or freezer. The bottom fridge drawers also have an adjustment for air flow to them which is great for the varying needs of certain foods to be stored needing more or less moisture than the other items when being stored. I compared, with a tape measure, the inside dimensions of this fridge and freezer with other brands on offer, and this had the best space available and adjustments for optimum use of it! The only thing I dont like is that it 'sometimes' makes the usual refrigeration noises which is just a 'gurgling' sound and a little 'pop' sound - but its only every now and then that it does that and I have found this is common with all modern fridges! I had a smaller capacity Westinghouse before this one and it was great for 9+ years then I gave it to my mother to replace her energy zapping older fridge that wasnt frost free. Has a 4 Star energy rating using 687 kWh per year. So its big on performance and low on the energy bill. Its easy to move around and clean underneath it, as its on 4 rollers. Cannot recommend this fridge highly enough - I love it and the price I paid for it too!! Great storage optimisation and many drawers not baskets, with medicine drawer up high and quick drinks chill or quick freeze modes sometimes makes a gurgling sound or a pop which can give you surprise when your up late in the quiet of night, but not loud enough to wake you up. |

Dyson DC29 Multi Floor I love my Dyson DC29 - its fantastic in performance and ease of use – My Dyson cost me approx $383 from The Good Guys during a special promotion in early 2010. Ive never been happier with a vacuum cleaner and I wish I had just paid up and bought… one years ago instead of going for the cheaper options!! The total cost of all the other crap cleaners I bought over the years would of paid for the dyson a few times over... and I could've avoided countless hours of stuggling with tedious and time consuming filter cleanings and retaping of broken bits and connections with poor suction results and expensive replacement bags!! Has onboard attachments for blinds, dusting areas/shelves, stairs etc and is relatively easy to move around with an adjustably long pole so your not hunched over using it. So easy to use and empty and only clean filter sponge 6 mthly by rinsing! No other filters to be dealt with. Emptying takes 1 minute. Has great suction - I can see the carpet lifting off the ground so I know it is really getting all the ground in dirt. I love it. I love my Dyson - if it were a person my partner would be jealous! Cannot recommend Dyson Vacuum Cleaner DC29 enough!! It is sooooo easy and QUICK to empty and there is no filter to painstakingly clean - only a sponge that you simply wash out every 6 months and Dyson email you to remind you and give you instructions on how to do it. Cannot recommend highly enough! No con yet except I wasted hundreds over the years on approx 4 other expensive but inefficient and ultimately throw away cleaners that either broke easily AND/or were time consuming to empty and clean filters or needed costly new bags |
