me: apparently the installation was terribly fiddly, including brackets that weren't long enough to fit the grill over the glass splashback (even though the brochure shows them fitted like that), and the external ducting was also difficult.

I am pretty disappointed with the lack of suction, it certainly struggles with anything spicy like a curry and you have to keep the windows open to get much suction at all. Since it is only mounted a short height above the benchtop, it is completely ineffective even for steam if you are cooking in a deep pot. Because the suction works horizontally, it also deposits grease over the intervening bench space. It is reasonably quiet (I can still hold a conversation on maximum) but not as quiet as other remote motor options I looked at like Schweigen.
