Water hot enough for dishes means a scalding hot shower, adding enough cold water results in a huge waste of water. Get the shower right and the temperature in the kitchen is inadequate for dish-washing. The plumber stated that this is normal for this type of water heater. No adequate explanation as to why they installed it. The previous heater was a Bosch Water Wizard that lasted less than 10 years. It was also terrible, when it "died" the plumber said the control box failed. It was not tested and I was quoted $755 to replace just the box.
