Breville Quick & Easy BMO300 Exactly what we paid for! – We bought this product on sale from Myer. We particularly wanted a microwave that beeped then stopped as opposed to some that remind you every 30 seconds. Our household has early… risers so it needs to be fairly quiet. This microwave beeps 5 times then stops. It is quite a loud sound. It cooks quickly and efficiently and seems quite energy efficient. The interior light turns itself off if the door is left open. The door can be opened and shut fairly quietly. It also has a child lock to avaoid functions being used by the kids.I havent yet explored all the functions as there are many but the instant cooking and defrost functions are easy to use. Inexpensive, energy efficient, reliable |

Samsung Galaxy S2 The best so far – I have had this phone for several months now and it is far superior to my previous phones. I regularly use it as an organiser, to record reminders with and to sms with. It has a… great choice of free aps available. I keep it in a cover as like many of these style phones I dont think it would cope well if dropped. I am not very good at using touch screens but this phone seems to be more responsive to my bumble fingers. I also found it very simple to navigate. They battery life is excellent. It is easy to turn the data on and off.The hands free function I would rate as good. Easy to use. Good battery life. Great choice of free aps. |

Your Baby Can Read! DVD OK – They do work. My little boy was reading and recognising words easily by 18mths. I didnt use any other assistance asides from reading to him. (No flash cards etc)He also found… words not included in the series easy to learn. The footage itself is old fashioned and poor quality and some sections very American. I was hoping that since they promoted these discs in Australia they would have adapted the sound and spelling. My son stopped watching by 22mths so never developed an accent or spelling issues. I wanted to use for my next child but the discs have become so brittle after 12 months storage they break just lifting from the case and are expensive to replace by the time you pay for postage both ways and the disc. The initial outlay is also expensive in relation to disc quality. With a little effort these could be a very useful teaching aid. My little boy was reading and recognising words easily by 18mths. Could be used to 'Hot house' children. The series is very American with words like diaper and color. The footage is also poor quality (NTSC on old tvs so the colour is wrong unless you remember to set to PAL) not designed for HD TVs so is grainy. DVDs are brittle and break easily |

Safety 1st High-Def Digital Excellent – We hunted for ages to find a monitor that didn't interfere with our Tommy Tipee monitor. We tried a couple of other brands of digital but found our portable phones tended to be on… the same frequency so always got static or interference. Finally we tried this monitor as it has DECT technology. It is fantastic no interference at all. The batteries last a decent time before having to recharge. The monitor was decently priced at just under $100. Highly Recommend Interference free and no static. Rechargable.Decent battery life. Maximum volume can be a little quiet in a noisy environment. |

Good – If purchasing for a youngster try to find a board book version if they make it. Otherwise a truly lovely book well up to the usual Graeme Base standard. Like most of Graeme Base's… books has wonderful illustrations with many details hidden in the background. This book also has a gentle environmental message as well as being educational for the littlies as it is a number recognition book and animal recognition book. Not sure what age group this is aimed at it lacks the repetition and rhythm a toddler likes but doesn't seem advanced enough for children that read capably. However my 20 month old likes to read the numbers and look at the animals and the illustrations are beautiful and cover a wide range of countries. My version is a paperback, it would be better as a board book as some pages contain holes and it tears too easily when little fingers fidget. |
